The famous bellows of “Order!” by former British parliamentary Speaker John Bercow has gone viral after its remix version by Belgian dance musician Michael Schack.

Speaking to WION, Micheal told how he came up with such an idea.

"With any music track, always look for some kind of vocal hook which sounds positive or ironic to make listeners connect more with the music. So I sometimes experiment with quotes and vocals I can find online, and as I'm also interested in worldwide news and especially news from Europe, I stumbled upon John Bercow's exquisite English and his famous "Oooorrrrderrrr" just after the UK referendum on Brexit, now more than 3 years ago", said Schack.

When asked why only Bercow, Schack said, "I find him to be a real vocal artist actually. When he speaks, it's with so much confidence and clarity and rich vocabulary. And without him probably realising, he's very musical too, as his words always have great rhythm and tonality. So when I started experimenting with his quotes on top of music, I discovered I could do it in any music tempo and music key as his vocals keep on standing out. Even when you have louder music underneath, his pronunciation stays so strong and understandable."

Schack believes that Bercow is the most Rock and Roll figure in the whole Brexit Saga, "I wouldn't call him a hero just yet like a Superman or Spiderman, but he is certainly the most rock 'and' roll figure in this whole saga. During the debates, he called parliament members by name and character when they were misbehaving. And while doing so, the charismatic sound of his voice became the sound of Brexit in general, even now that he stepped down everyone still talks more about him than about any of those three prime ministers of these three past Brexit years''.

When asked if Speaker Bercow has heard the remix, Schack replied, "We did hear that he has seen it and liked it. I cannot imagine he didn't check it out yet as so many in the UK have been sharing it on their social media as well, tagging him along. Mister Bercow does have a sense of humour and as no one of his entourage has contacted me directly yet, I guess silence is sort of an approval. The ultimate would be to meet him in person, thank him for the inspiration while hearing him speak for real and then have our picture taken, just the three of us: John Bercow, myself and the #SpeakerJohn puppet in the middle. How epic would that be!"

Michael Jackson`s estate sued ABC on Wednesday, arguing that a special network aired last week about the pop singer`s final days used his songs and music videos without permission.

The copyright infringement lawsuit, which also names ABC`s corporate parent Walt Disney Co as a defendant, was filed in Los Angeles federal court and took aim at "The Last Days of Michael Jackson," a two-hour show broadcast on May 24.

The lawsuit seeks unspecified damages.

"Like Disney, the lifeblood of the estate`s business is its intellectual property," the complaint said. "Yet for some reason, Disney decided it could just use the estate`s most valuable intellectual property for free."

A spokesperson of the network said the company had not yet reviewed the lawsuit but defended the broadcast.

"The ABC News documentary explored the life, career, and legacy of Michael Jackson, who remains of great interest to people worldwide, and did not infringe on his estate’s rights," the spokesperson said via e-mail.

Jackson, known as the "King of Pop," died in 2009 from a prescription drug overdose at age 50.

The estate raised objections to the show before it aired last week. According to the lawsuit, a lawyer for Disney told the estate the special`s use of copyrighted music was 'fair use' because of its documentary nature, an argument the estate called 'absurd'.

"If Disney`s position on fair use of the estate`s copyrights were accepted, a network, studio or producer could make a documentary about Walt Disney, and spend most of the documentary`s time using, without Disney`s permission, extensive clips of Mickey Mouse, Walt Disney, and Disney movies," the lawsuit said.

The show employed "at least 30 different copyrighted works," according to the lawsuit, including hit songs like "Billie Jean" and "Thriller" and video footage owned by the estate.

Jackson has led Forbes` list of the highest-earning dead celebrities five years running, with an estimated $75 million last year thanks to a Cirque du Soleil show in Las Vegas and a new posthumous album, among other sources of revenue.

The network's spokesperson said the company had not yet reviewed the lawsuit but defended the broadcast.

British pop musician Elton John is to quit touring after nearly 50 years, the Daily Mirror newspaper reported.

The 70-year-old star is calling time on the road after one last world tour, the newspaper said.

Elton is finishing his last performance of his Las Vegas show, The Million Dollar Piano, on 19 May after over 200 shows. It was his second stint at Vegas, with The Red Piano running from 2004 to 2009.

The Mirror report that the 70-year-old star is bowing out of stage performances following a bout of poor health.

Insiders claim the news will be announced 'imminently', after last year he was left in intensive care when he was struck down with a ‘potentially deadly’ bacterial infection while touring South America.

With a penchant for fancy costumes and an ear for piano rockers and ballads that made music history, John has dominated the pop industry for five decades.

Once a hard-partying tearaway with a voracious appetite for cocaine and alcohol, John has achieved a long-lasting fame among British acts matched only by the Beatles, the Rolling Stones and David Bowie.

Raised in a modest family, he started playing the piano when he was just three.

A magazine advert in 1967 put him in touch with English lyricist Bernie Taupin and together they wrote some of the best-loved songs of all time - transforming shy Reg Dwight of suburban north London into global star Elton John.

Mixing ballads like “Candle in the Wind”, “Your Song” and “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road” with pounding rockers “Crocodile Rock” and “Bennie and the Jets” proved to be a winning formula: he has sold more than 300 million records.

With fame came riches, drugs and controversy, though his friends described him as a thoughtful and self-deprecating person at heart.

He serenaded mourners at Princess Diana’s 1997 funeral in Westminster Abbey with a reworked version of “Candle in the Wind” that included the lyrics: “Goodbye England’s rose, may you ever grow in our hearts.” It became one of the best-selling singles in history.

He has campaigned vigorously for gay rights and founded one of the world’s biggest AIDS charities, the Elton John Foundation, raising hundreds of millions of dollars and helping millions of people.

Billboard has come out with the list of ten highest-grossing concert tours of all times and it establishes U2, like previous years, on the top.

However, what makes news is the two new entries that made it to the list last year and have remained solid, concluding the top list. Both Coldplay and Guns N' Roses are surprise entries in the list -- landing at 3rd and 4th positions respectively.

Coldplay jumped to No. 3 overall with a gross of $523 million from its A Head Full of Dreams Tour that wrapped in November. Named after the group’s seventh studio album that released in December 2015, the tour lasted for over a year and a half.

According to Billboard, a total of 5.4 million tickets were sold during the five-continent trek that launched at the end of March 2016. The group also made several festival appearances like the U.K.’s Glastonbury Festival and the Budweiser Made in America Festival in Philadelphia that took place in 2016, Hamburg’s Global Citizen Festival and the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas in 2017.

Guns N’ Roses follows at No. 4 with $475 million earned from 123 headlining performances on its own five-continent trek that is still ongoing. They also made festival appearances during both years of the tour beginning with a headlining slot at the Coachella Music Festival in April of 2016. In 2017, the band also appeared at the TW Classic Festival in Belgium, São Paulo Trip in Brazil and Santiago Rock City in Chile as the main stage headliner.

Both tours displaced Roger Waters’ The Wall Live tour that previously ranked third on the all-time list.

Taylor Swift's Reputation album sold 1.216 million copies in its first week and debuted at the top of the US Billboard 200 album chart, Nielsen Music said on Monday, the biggest album debut of the year.

The first week sales for "Reputation" outpaced the year's previous biggest debut, rapper Kendrick Lamar's Damn, which opened with 603,000 album units in April.

Swift’s Reputation, became the best-selling US album this year and by far exceeded the cumulative 863,000 in albums sales accrued by numbers 2 through 200 on the Billboard charts for the week ending November 16, according to figures from Nielsen Music.

The album crossed the 1 million sales milestone just four days after its release but failed to beat the monster sales for the debut of British singer Adele's 25 album, which surpassed 2.43 million copies in the first four days of release in November 2015.

“Reputation,” Swift’s first studio album in three years, marks another transformation in the image for the 27-year-old country-turned-pop star, who is known for using her love life for inspiration without ever directly naming names.

The album's first single, Look What You Made Me Do, scored the biggest YouTube debut in history with more than 43 million views in the first 24 hours when it was released in August.

Since Nielsen Music began tracking data in 1991, Swift had been the only artist to have three different albums sell more than a million copies in a week. Reputation was her fourth album to accomplish the feat, it said.

One had to travel through rural Assam’s greenery and at that very instant listened to Bhupen Hazarika singing somewhere around to appreciate what Gulzar meant when he said Assam’s nature oozes through Bhupenda’s voice. A particular combination of opulent tenderness, seductive nasality and inexhaustible vocal melody, not uncommon among Assamese folk singers, assumed a different proportion in Bhupen Hazarika through his specific style of singing. What factors contributed to acquiring that style will require a different space for fuller discussion, but certainly, his years of training as an activist/singer/composer in the IPTA was one of the most important ones among them.

Sudakshina Sharma - Queen as she is lovingly called - Bhupen’s sister and a veteran singer gave me an interview in which she reminisced about his initial years as an IPTA activist: "When Bhupenda returned from America – that was way back in 1953 - Hemango-da (Hemango Biswas) brought him into the fold of the IPTA. Hemango--da was by then one of the chief organisers of Assam IPTA and he was quite close to our family which has always been a family of singers and musicians.

We used to live in Kharghuli - up in the hills - where Hemango-da was a regular visitor. Bhupenda and Hemango-da travelled together to distant places in Assam for organisational work. I remember once while returning from such a place halfway through they realised they had not a single anna left. The evening was descending, at a corner of a street they started singing impromptu, you can understand the effect of these two voices singing together. After they finished, people from the crowd started giving money to them thinking they were a group of itinerant street musicians. Whatever they gave was sufficient for the team to get back to Guwahati."

It was much before that that Bhupen came into contact with Jyotiprasad Agarwal and Bishnuprasad Rava, doyens of Assamese culture and the two most important names of the Assam IPTA. Jyotiprasad made him sing in his film Indramalati (1939) when he was just 12 years of age. When Bhupen Hazarika returned from America, upon finishing his Ph.D., Jyotiprasad had passed away. But IPTA by that time went from strength to strength in Assam, after its first and second conference in Silchar (1947) and Dibrugarh (1949) respectively.

IPTA was the first organisation that spoke about the need of highlighting the syncretic nature of its culture in a multi-ethnic and multi-lingual state like Assam. In the first conference in Silchar, the two hundred odd representatives who participated consisted of artists from Tripura hill tracts, Jayantiya, Bodo, Manipuri, Dimasa - Kachhari, Miri and other ethnic communities along with Bengalis, Assamese and tea- plantation labourers.

IPTA in Assam held on to this tradition and to the spirit of the draft proposal that declared that it is meant to be a platform where every ethnicity is part of a larger collective in which it contributes voluntarily, knowing that its own cultural distinctiveness will not be compromised or co-opted in the process.

Many people have discussed at length how Bhupen Hazarika was influenced by Paul Robeson whose acquaintance he made during his stay in the USA as well as by Pete Seeger’s protest songs. The initial years when Bhupen started composing songs for the IPTA, certain signs of their influence were undoubtedly pronounced. And yet, the way he used Assamese traditional music (Bihu, bangeet, borgeet or jhumur) at that point and throughout his later life was something extremely unique.

He could pull off a melodic structure with major notes and a strong rhythmic pattern like ‘Nami Axa’ and another with predominantly minor notes and zero or soft rhythm like ‘Haradhon Rongmon katha’ (co-composed with Hemango Biswas) with equal ease and elegance. Even when one keeps in mind the rich oeuvre of Jyotiprasad, Bishnu Rava, Parbatiprasad Barua or Anandiram Das whose pioneering creations influenced IPTA artists in composing their own, it is not difficult to see why Bhupen Hazarika’s place in Assamese modern music is still singular on many counts.

As Hemango Biswas writes, ‘ In the musical milieu of Assam, IPTA ushered in a new legion of songs about life and revolution. In this work, the musical tradition of the revered Jyotiprasad was our chief inspiration. Works of our folk composer Anandiram Das, the late Hemen Thakur and later those of Abdul Malik helped us. But the true architect of this genre was Dr Bhupen Hazrika. The ordinary lives of Assam like that of the lumberjacks, the stone breakers, the train drivers, tea-plantation worker Jagnu, farmer Rongmon, weaver girl Rodoi and palanquin bearer Dolabhari - these characters succeeded in sweeping aside the impersonal genre of music devoid of social consciousness that had been prevalent thus far.

Newer expressions and styles made their presence felt in the creation of the tunes. The local musical form remained intact, but its narrow structures were broken down in a fresh attempt to showcase a new reality. Numerous songs of the IPTA spread to various cities and villages. This metamorphosis in Assamese music is a widely acknowledged fact today’.

Nothing perhaps better describes how in Bhupen Hazarika such diverse musical styles had found their easeful co-existence beyond the usual divides of traditional, modern, eastern or western forms. As a singer, his internalisation of this was so complete that anything that he performed: From kamrupi folk to bangeet, from ‘sa banuar geet’ (tea- plantation songs) to Bihu, from lullabies to protest songs – he seemed to be a natural denizen of all the territories he travelled.

It is true that Bhupen Hazarika’s political views took a significant turn in his later life and in many ways he became the cynosure of conservative politicians of different hues. We should add to it our collective misfortune that there is no dearth of politicians in this country who can appropriate a cultural capital towards a political end and turn it to material/ military/ electoral gain- a very recent example would be the inauguration by the political who’s who of the Bhupen Hazarika Bridge in Assam which is supposed to be the longest bridge in India (not undisputedly, though).

But because of this very reason, it seems all the more necessary to document Bhupen’s immense contribution to the leftist cultural movement in India – his long and hard creative years in Assam, Bengal and outside of those before he finally moved to Bombay. Perhaps we got to remind ourselves now that that period also coincided with the genesis of many of his greatest creations the history of which needs to be written urgently.

Through his musical composition, Bhupen Hazarika played a key role in sweeping aside the impersonal genre of music devoid of social consciousness that had been prevalent before the formation of IPTA.

One had to travel through rural Assam’s greenery and at that very instant listened to Bhupen Hazarika singing somewhere around to appreciate what Gulzar meant when he said Assam’s nature oozes through Bhupenda’s voice.
