<p>As expected, the party was held at Antilia in Mumbai. They had Falguni Pathak and Tushar Trivedi for company. Dressed in their bright best, the two singers belted out some good numbers and engaged the guests.&nbsp;</p>

Akash Ambani pre-wedding celebrations kickstart with Falguni Pathak, Tushar Trivedi

<p>The country is yet to get over Isha Ambani and Anand Piramal's grand wedding and Mukesh and Neeta Ambani are already preparing for the next big wedding in the family.&nbsp;</p>

<p>On Monday, Mukesh Ambani and his wife Neeta and son Anant visited Mumbai`s Siddhivinayak temple to offer prayers and give the first wedding invitation card of their elder son Akash Ambani who is tying the knot with Shloka Mehta.</p>

<p>Shloka Mehta is the youngest of three children of diamantaire Russell Mehta and his wife Mona Mehta.</p>

<p>Mukesh and his younger son Anant were spotted outside the temple, wearing half-sleeved white shirt and black pants. They were accompanied by Neeta, dressed in a red and golden kurta.</p>

<p>Akash proposed to Shloka in 2018 at a private ceremony in Goa that was attended by both the families.</p>

<p>The two even performed together at his sister Isha Ambani’s sangeet ceremony last year.</p>

The official said that final shortlisted names — 4-5 firms are likely to be handed the mandate — will be based on multiple criteria including the wherewithal of the auditor, as also the fee quoted.</p>

<p>"About 26 firms came forward, and 18 have been found to be technically clear," the official source added.</p>

<p>The audits will be carried out to check for any under-reporting of revenue by telecom companies, an exercise that the DoT expects will be wrapped up by the middle of next year. Audits will be conducted for all large private telecom companies as also those which have announced an exit or are in the process of merging with bigger rivals.</p>

<p>An official familiar with the entire exercise has earlier said that the idea is to see whether there has been any concealment of revenue by operators.</p>

<p>"... Because our licence fee is based on their revenue. We want to ensure that the accounts reveal a fair and true picture of the revenue earned," the source had said.</p>

The wedding festivities, which also include a two-day pre-wedding extravaganza in Udaipur, are expected to cost upward of USD 10 million, say Reliance insiders, though some reports pegged the tab at USD 100 million for India Inc's most expensive wedding.<br />

The Ambanis will do an encore as Isha's twin brother Akash is also walking down the aisle some time next year.<br />

Unlike the Udaipur affair, which saw a wide an array of guests, including former US first-lady Hillary Clinton, global bankers and Bollywood stars, the nuptials are expected to be a smaller affair with much a pruned list of guests who may number around 600.</p>

<p>A few senior politicians, including Pranab Mukherjee, Rajnath Singh, Prakash Javadekar, Mamta Banerjee, Vijay Rupani, Chandrababu Naidu and Devendra Fadnavis among others have confirmed their presence for the Wednesday evening jamboree, according to sources.<br />

<p>Significantly, these individuals who number 831, collectively own a quarter of the nation's GDP with a net worth of $719 billion, says the report, which quotes the IMF April 2018 data pegs GDP at $2.85 trillion.</p>

<p>Led by Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani with a net worth of Rs 3.71 trillion, there were 831 Indians having a net worth of Rs 1,000 crore or more in 2018, which is 214 individuals more than the 2017 list, according to a Barclays- Hurun India rich list.</p>

<p>In a January 2018 report presented by Oxfam at the World Economic Forum, had expressed concern on the rising inequalities, stating that 1 per cent of the country's population holds 73 per cent of the wealth.</p>

<p>The financial capital, which presents stark contrasts like housing the largest slums in the continent as also costliest mansions like Ambani's Antilla, has the highest number of contributors to the rich list, with 233 rich, followed by 163 in the national Capital and 70 in Bengaluru.</p>

<p>Anas Rahman Junaid, managing director and chief researcher at Hurun India says the country is the fastest growing when it comes to people entering the rich list.</p>

<p>"The number of Rs 1,000 crore-plus wealthy Indians have nearly doubled in the past two years-from 339 in 2016 to 831 in 2018," he said.</p>

<p>From a demographic perspective, the average age on the list is 60, the 24-year-old Ritesh Agarwal of Oravel Stays which runs Oyo Rooms, being the youngest and 95-year-old Dharam Pal Gulati of the masala brand MDH being the eldest.</p>

<p>There was a massive, 157 per cent spike in the number of women on the list, which grew to 136.</p>

<p>Pharma sector promoters/executives dominate the list with a 13.7 per cent occupancy, followed by software and services at 7.9 per cent and fast moving consumer goods at 6.4 per cent.</p>

<p>Anand is an executive director in the Piramal Group. He graduated in economics from the University of Pennsylvania and completed his MBA from Harvard Business School.</p>

<p>Meanwhile, Isha is a board member in Reliance Jio and Reliance Retail. She graduated from Yale University with double majors in psychology and South Asian studies in 2013 and is currently pursuing an MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business, that she will complete in June this year.</p>

<p>This will mark the second marriage in the Ambani family this year as earlier, Isha’s twin brother Akah got engaged with Shloka Mehta, daughter of Russell Mehta of Rosy Blue -- that is India’s one of the largest diamond companies.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Debt-laden Reliance Communications has signed a deal to sell its wireless assets to Reliance Jio Infocomm, for a total value of nearly 240 billion rupees ($3.75 billion), two sources familiar with the matter told Reuters on Friday.</p>

<p>The two companies had announced late on Thursday that Reliance Communications, backed by businessman Anil Ambani, would sell all its spectrum, tower, fibre optic and other telecom infrastructure assets to Jio, which is owned by Reliance Industries and is controlled by Anil Ambani&#39;s elder brother Mukesh Ambani, India&#39;s richest person. They did not give the value of the deal.</p>

<p>The sale, if finalised, would mark a big step in Reliance Communication&#39;s quest to cut down its debt, which had sent its shares to record lows and led creditors such as China Development Bank (CDB) to start insolvency proceedings over missed payments.</p>

<p>CDB said earlier on Friday it is in talks with Reliance Communications, or RCom as it is called.</p>

<p>RCom shares rose as much as 29.9 per cent on Friday while Reliance Industries rose as much as 0.9 per cent.</p>

<p>The sale would also mark the return of the telecom operations back into the fold of Reliance Industries, which forayed into telecoms in 2002, spearheaded by the elder Ambani, under the name of Reliance Infocomm Ltd.</p>
