<p>KKR, led by Dinesh Karthik, will begin their IPL 2020 campaign on September 23. &nbsp;According to Vaughan, the squad have a great mix of Indian and overseas talent this time which makes them a top contender for this year's IPL.</p>

<p>Vaughan lauded KKR's head coach Brendon McCullum, who led the TKR franchise to title glory in the CPL.</p>

<p>“Kolkata Knight Riders (will win the IPL). Baz McCullum as a coach. I just think they’ve got enough, and with him coaching, he’s just won the Caribbean Premier League, as a coach. I just think he’s going to to have enough,” he said.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Former England captain Michael Vaughan on Friday came up with a suggestion in regards to the much-anticipated Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 as he said that a five-week tournament could be held in September-October including all overseas and domestic players. Vaughan suggested that IPL 2020 could be played as a warm-up for the ICC T20 World Cup, which is scheduled to be played in Australia in October 2020. <o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">Vaughan took to social media platform to lay out his suggestion as the former English cricketer said IPL is such an important tournament as it affects cricket’s economy not just in India but globally while adding the tournament could be played for five weeks if travel restrictions are cleared out by then. <o:p></o:p></p>

They need someone who can match England's consistency and skill with the Duke ball and bowl the fuller length," he said.&nbsp;</p>

Former England captain Michael Vaughan feels Australia, beaten for the first time in a home Test series against India, are "kidding themselves if they think everything will be rosy when Steve Smith and David Warner come back". In his column for 'The Daily Telegraph' following India's maiden Test series triumph Down Under, Vaughan wrote that Australia's issues run far deeper than the absence of suspended Smith and Warner. "If you think Australia's problems will be solved the moment Steve Smith and David Warner are available for selection again then you are wrong... Batting, bowling, selection and tactics were poor against India, and Australia have to admit they were just not good enough," wrote Vaughan. "Clearly, if you take the two best players out of any team they will struggle. But losing Smith and Warner is an easy excuse to hide behind. India were beaten 4-1 in English conditions last summer, although the matches were closer than the final score suggests, but would have beaten Australia 3-1 had it not rained in Sydney for the last two days." "...Unless they assess themselves brutally. Batting techniques have to be better and they need to be more consistent with the ball. Every facet of their Test team has to improve. They are kidding themselves if they think everything will be rosy when Smith and Warner come back. "On flat, good batting pitches, Australia really struggled as it is on those tracks that weaknesses are highlighted. A batting unit's defences are tested because it is necessary to bat for long periods. They look like a team who can score 250-300, and that is good enough on sporting pitches, but not when it is flat." Improvement is also needed in the bowling department, reckoned Vaughan. "The bowling is not as good as they think. They are very good when conditions are in their favour or well ahead in the game. But there is room for them to become a much more skilful and consistent bowling attack. "For the Ashes this summer, Australia have to look at breaking up Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins. They need a more skilful bowler, such as a Peter Siddle or Trent Copeland. They need someone who can match England's consistency and skill with the Duke ball and bowl the fuller length," he said. Vaughan said the support staff must be blamed for the below-par bowling performance. "A ridiculously low percentage of balls bowled by Australia against India were going on to hit the stumps. They took only one wicket lbw in the whole series. "The bowlers and the coaching staff have to take the blame for that and ask how they can improve. To beat England in England, they have to bowl more intelligently," he added.

<p>Match referee Ranjan Madugalle on Friday rated the pitch at Perth Stadium as 'average', the lowest pass mark provided by the ICC when they assess the pitch and outfield of Test grounds.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Australia had defeated India by 146 runs on the fifth and final day of the second Test at the Perth Stadium.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Nothing wrong with it. It was exciting to watch a contest between bat and ball for a change and not these dull flat tracks being served up constantly. I'd actually be interested in knowing what a good pitch is? Hope for another exciting Test at the MCG," Johnson wrote on his twitter handle.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Vaughan also took to Twitter to criticise ICC's decision.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>"And they wonder why Test Match cricket is struggling .. Was a tremendously exciting pitch which had a bit for everyone .. Should be more like this IMO..."&nbsp;</p>

<p>The ICC's rating is presumably due to the uneven bounce that became more prevalent later in the match.&nbsp;</p>

<p>However, Johnson disagreed.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Inconsistent bounce use to happen a lot, the pitch is supposed to deteriorate. Is it any different to a pitch that spins a metre or more &amp; stays low?," he wrote.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Perth pitch saw some sharp bounce with one Mohammed Shami delivery hitting Australian opener Aaron Finch's right glove, forcing him to retire hurt.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Usman Khawaja and Tim Paine were also dismissed in Australia's second innings by balls that reared sharply off a good length.&nbsp;</p>

<p>However, Khawaja's 72 after India skipper Virat Kohli's 123 in the first innings proved there were runs on offer in the wicket.&nbsp;</p>

<p>At the start of the year, the ICC introduced a disciplinary system in a bid to improve the standard of pitches around the world and can provide six ratings, very good, good, average, below average, poor and unfit, when rating Test venues.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The third Test between India and Australia will be held at the MCG, which had received a 'poor' rating last year and there will be a lot of focus on new MCG curator Matthew Page this week.</p>
