France is particularly sensitive to its image in West Africa after military juntas in Mali and Burkina Faso demanded the departure of French troops, deployed to the Sahel region since 2013 to fight jihadists.

"I am thinking of and honouring the 58 French soldiers who died defending Mali, at its request, in the face of Islamist terrorist groups," Lecornu wrote.

The defence ministry told AFP that France was not calling for withdrawal or censorship of a work of art.

But "no revisionism can be allowed about France's recent actions in Mali: we intervened at the county's own request to fight armed terrorist groups, far from the story told in the film, namely a French army coming to pillage natural resources," the ministry added.

Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Sunfire, Rogue, Wolverine (the former X-23, not Logan), Synch, and Polaris will join forces with Charles Xavier.

According to the publisher, the new title will "showcase the incredible adventures of the first X-Men team since the mutant nation of Krakoa was formed in Jonathan Hickman's revolutionary House of X and Powers of X."

"The current era of X-Men has evolved mutant storytelling like never before," reads Marvel's announcement. "No longer protecting a world that hates and fears them, the X-Men said goodbye to their dream of coexistence and founded a thriving mutant homeland. But in the aftermath of X of Swords, original X-Men Cyclops and Marvel Girl realized that the world needed its premiere team of mutant superheroes.&nbsp;

American film producer Kevin Feige was honoured at the 45th annual Saturn Awards at the Avalon Hollywood in Los Angeles. 
 
The 46-year-old Feige said in a video message on Friday night that he was humbled to receive the award after accepting the inaugural Stan Lee Builder award, named after the late Marvel Comics mastermind. 
 
He paid homage to Lee for starting the Marvel legacy and called him a 'genius'."He was enthused with humanity and kindness," said Feige, who gave a miss to the event but spoke via a small screen.

Hollywood star Ryan Reynolds has revealed that in the initial drafts of the Deadpool 2&nbspscript, the Marvel antihero was envisioned as a father. 
 
The 41-year-old actor, who reprises his role as the title character in the sequel, said he along with co-writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick had planned on showing the part with a child. 
 
"The genesis of it was 'What if Deadpool had a child?' Like, what if we started five years later and what would that be like?" Reynolds told EW. 
 
The actor said they decided against the idea as they did not think it would work. 
 
"By page 1.5, it was totally untenable. We were just like, 'Nope. Nope. No, no, no. This is never, ever going to work.' We went back to the drawing board and kind of reworked it in a way about wanting to have a child, which is something that so many people I know experience on a daily basis - wanting to have a child but can't," he said. 
 
Reynolds added the movie is a profane, hard-R action-comedy, which also highlights the importance of family.&nbsp 
 
"The first movie is a love story masquerading as a comic-book movie, and this one is kind of a family film masquerading as a comic-book film again," he said.

In an email to a popular video game website Kotaku, a Marvel representative explained why Marvel Heroes is being closed down.

&ldquo;We regret to inform our Marvel Heroes fans that we have ended our relationship with Gazillion Entertainment and that the Marvel Heroes games will be shut down. We would like to sincerely thank the players who joined the Marvel Heroes community, and will provide any further updates as they become available,&rdquo; they wrote.

It is however unclear as to why Disney and Marvel had to cut ties abruptly.&nbsp;

There is also no information on when the online game would be offline for good and whether it will continue under a new name with a different developer.&nbsp;

Marvel Heroes is a free-to-play&nbsp;massively multiplayer online game (MMO) that rolled out to the PC in 2013 and was ported to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2017.

Disney shuts down Marvel Heroes online game

Marking a new phase in the world of fictional superheroes and heroines, Marvel Comics is out with a character called Ngozi based on a real-life example.&nbsp;

Ngozi is a teenage superheroine inspired by <a href="http://www.wionews.com/world/nigeria-boko-haram-releases-82-chibok-girls-in-prisoner-swap-15292" target="_blank">Nigeria&#39;s kidnapped Chibok girls</a> who fight evil in Lagos, Nigeria&#39;s largest city.&nbsp;

The character appeared in the title &quot;Blessing in Disguise&quot; which will be the American company&#39;s first story to be set in the real-life African country, Nigeria&#39;s commercial capital to be exact and will feature a Nigerian super heroine.

Ngozi, the super heroine gets her inspiration from the 2014 abduction of more than 200 school girls from Chibok in northeast Nigeria by the <a href="http://www.wionews.com/world/boko-haram-uprising-likely-to-cause-catastrophic-famine-like-conditions-12185" target="_blank">militant group Boko Haram</a>. It was only last month that all girls returned to safety and underwent&nbsp;psychological and medical treatment before they could reunite with family.&nbsp;

Speaking to Thomson Reuters Foundation,&nbsp;Nnedi Okorafor, an award-winning Nigeria-American writer said, &quot;It was an important decision for me to base Ngozi on one of the Chibok girls.&quot;

Ngozi&#39;s character featured in a short story as part of Marvel&#39;s &ldquo;Venomverse&rdquo; comic. It was published on Wednesday and saw Ngozi appear alongside well-established Marvel characters from Venom to the Black Panther.

The comic author also spoke about the need for diversity in super heroines with a mix of all cultures. She said,&nbsp;&ldquo;I&lsquo;m a huge Wonder Woman fan, but we can really push it further when it comes to diversity.&nbsp;I&lsquo;m not just talking about race and sexual orientation, but about having a range of personalities with different desires, dreams, and flaws. I don&rsquo;t only want to see badass female characters, I want to see much less predictable ones.&rdquo;

Marvel's new super heroine 'Ngozi' is Nigerian, inspired by Chibok girls kidnapped by Boko Haram

Besieged by the Syrian government for two years, the city of Madaya has had little contact with the outside world, barely reachable by aid convoys, let alone video journalists.

So ABC News and Marvel Comics, known for its muscular superheroes, teamed up to find another way to help the world see the devastating reality of life under siege.&nbsp;

Journalists at ABC had been in contact with a woman living in Madaya, a city home to some 40,000 people near the border with Lebanon, &nbsp;who chronicled in a series of blog posts her fight to survive the harsh conditions brought on by the Syrian civil war, now in its sixth year.&nbsp;

The two Disney-owned companies created a free, digital comic based on the anonymous dispatches by the young mother of five, a way to try and demonstrate the horrors their cameras could not access.

The illustrated panels are far less bloody than they are heartbreaking. Combined with the powerful words of the mother, kept anonymous to protect her family&rsquo;s safety , they speak to the severe hardships trapped families are enduring.

Since Madaya came under total siege in mid-2015, more than 60 victims have died of famine and malnutrition.

&quot;Our bodies are no longer used to eating,&quot; reads one panel. &quot;My children are hungry but are getting sick, severe stomach pains from the food because their bodies aren&rsquo;t able to digest and absorb the food because they were hungry for so long.&quot;Artist Dalibor Talajic said he made a conscious effort to avoid straying into the sensational.

&quot;I didn&rsquo;t want to do a war comic,&quot; said the Croatian artist, who lived through Yugoslavia&rsquo;s breakup in 1991. &quot;I wanted to make a comic with a civilian point of view, where you&#39;re really powerless.&quot;

&quot;You can&#39;t do anything. You&#39;re just waiting for it to pass or for you to die.&quot;

Before now Talajic was best known for his work on Deadpool, a comic about antiheroes that were featured in a film of the same name earlier this year.

The illustrator said he is &quot;not a typical Marvel artist where everything must be larger than life,&quot; preferring instead to stay anchored in reality. &quot;I always try to keep things more familiar, more grounded, more probable.&quot;

But attempting to convey the grim daily life of besieged Syrians without sensationalizing was no easy task.

&quot;It was challenging,&quot; Talajic said, noting that he never saw photos of the young mother or the family. &quot;It&#39;s like blade running the thin line of being exploitive of someone&#39;s hardship.&quot;

The brutal story of daily life under siege is occasionally broken up with small bright moments.
