Loch ness monster seen from space? Woman claims she saw a 'family of Nessies' on Google Earth

The Loch Ness monster has made its first appearance in the year 2025, according to the museum dedicated to the creature. The monster has been named after Loch Ness, the famous loch, or lake, in Scotland. A witness who saw the monster took pictures and gave them to the Loch Ness Centre in Inverness as proof. The photo shows a "black mass" slithering underneath the waters of the lake.
SWNS reported that the mysterious monster appeared for several minutes owing to clear weather conditions. While this is not the first time someone has claimed to have seen the Loch Ness monster, this particular sighting has intrigued experts more than any other.
"We’ve had numerous observations over the years, but this recent sighting has been particularly captivating," Nagina Ishaq, who works at the centre, said.

Ishaq believed that this incident has the potential to fuel "the mystery surrounding Loch Ness and its most famous resident".
“The conditions on the day of this sighting were absolutely perfect. This could very well be our first significant sighting of the year," she said.

Loch Ness, the mysterious resident of the lake, has been a topic of interest for years. Its presence has never been confirmed and the reported sightings keep on pushing enthusiasts to look for the elusive creature. Ishaq says, "This potential sighting is a reminder that the mystery of Loch Ness is far from solved."

Loch Ness Exploration, another organisation working to uncover the truth behind the Nessie, has urged people to continue to explore and share their findings. “It’s fantastic to see the ongoing enthusiasm for scanning the waters of Loch Ness in search of the legendary monster,” Alan Mackenna of the group said.

Nessie is mentioned in Scottish folklore

The Loch Ness monster, also known as the Nessie, finds mention in Scottish folklore as a mythical creature. However, it is believed to reside in Loch Ness in the Scottish Highlands. In 1933, a person named George Spicer claimed for the first time to have seen the long-necked monster. Since then, several groups have formed that go out to search for the mythical beast. Many photos and sonar readings have been shared claiming that the Loch Ness is a reality.
However, the majority of the scientific community believes it is not real. Once when Prince William visited NatureMetrics, a research lab near London and asked if their technology had answered the question of whether or not the Loch Ness monster existed. Firm founder Dr Kat Bruce replied that according to their tests conducted on the lake, the creature is more likely to just be a "very big eel".

Loch Ness monster seen again? Latest sighting can further 'fuel the mystery'

Two mysterious humps were spotted by Loch Ness hunter who he said "could not be anything but the monster".

Nessie hunter Eoin O'Faodhagain was looking for the monster using a webcam when he saw something strange in the water.

The hump measured 25ft in length, the experts said that "whopper of a beast" was too big to be any of the residents of the area.

"Two sections of this creature can be visibly seen rising out of the water as it moves at a steady pace – a large front hump, and a larger second hump behind," said Eoin, while speaking to The Daily Mail.

"Both humps are black to dark grey in colour, but visually striking in the environment. I was ecstatic and captivated by this large, fast-moving, unidentified animal out in the deep water of the loch. My only instinct was that this could not be anything other than the Loch Ness Monster," he added.

Nessie hunter spots two mysterious 'humps'. Is it Loch Ness beast?

There have been a lot of conspiracy theories about the mythical Loch Ness monster. These conspiracy theories have time and again inspired researchers to go on a mission and find if actually, any such monsters exist.

According to the Scottish folklore which dates back to the 19th century, the creature inhabits Loch Ness which is a large freshwater in the Scottish Highlands.

With an aim to find if this folklore had any truth, a team of experts set out on a mission to Loch Ness and discovered that actually there might be “mini-monsters” and not bigger creatures lurking in the loch.

How scientists found 'mini-monsters' in Loch Ness?

The new study was carried out by experts from the University of Aberdeen who dropped a holographic camera into the loch, something which was never done before.

The device used is called a weeHoloCam which has the potential to capture digital holographic images in which microscopic organisms can be seen and the images can be later produced using artificial intelligence.

What are new ‘mini-monsters’ found in Scotland's waters?

The "mini-monsters" are magnified plankton particles, which can help understand the make-up of the loch.

Speaking about the discovery, Dr Thangavel Thevar from the University of Aberdeen’s School of Engineering said, “This was a unique opportunity for us to deploy the weeHoloCam in fresh water, as it has previously only been used in the ocean."

“We were curious as to what the water quality would be like, especially at lower depths, as we know that too much peat could obstruct the recording path of the instrument. But we lowered the camera to around 200 metres [656 feet] and were able to see lots of interesting particles which, by working with biologists, should be able to give us more information about the biodiversity of Loch Ness," he added.

'Mini-monsters' spotted in Scotland's rivers hint at existence of mythical 'Loch Ness monster'

The most extensive hunt for the elusive Loch Ness monster, lovingly dubbed 'Nessie,' ended on Sunday, August 27, in Scotland. The Loch Ness monster, rooted in Scottish folklore, has had its presence whispered through generations, and its myth has grown more compelling. The legend about a monster in a water body originated around 565 AD when Saint Columba, an Irish monk, described a creature attacking a swimmer in his account. The United Kingdom's Daily Mail published a picture showing the Loch Ness monster in 1934. The famous 'surgeon's photo,' declared a hoax later, helped popularise the creature's image globally. According to the Loch Ness Center in the Highland village of Drumnadrochit, they have officially recorded 1,100 sightings of Nessie. The Loss Ness Center collaborated with Loch Ness Exploration, a volunteer research team, to organise 'The Quest.' The two-day hunt was the most systematic search since 1972 for the mysterious monster. The dedicated gathering of modern monster hunters claimed they had cutting-edge technology, including surveying equipment, thermal drones and hydrophones, and determination to find the truth. The volunteers from around the world searched 17 locations around the lake to collect evidence proving the presence of Nessie. ALSO READ | Life on Mars discovered 50 years ago but killed accidentally, claims scientist The project leader, Alan McKenna, and his team dropped the underwater microphone several times in the lake to record 'strange noises' that might signal the presence of the elusive creature. Their objective was to obtain sufficient proof to dispel the veil of doubt that had surrounded Nessie for hundreds of years. The team reported several possible sightings and intriguing audio signals, sparking excitement and anticipation. However, the mystery persists. McKenna stated that he was given a collection of videos and advice from individuals watching live-streaming cameras focused on the well-known lake in the Scottish Highlands. However, according to him, it will take a significant time to sift through the data and distinguish truth from hopeful speculation. It is not the first time researchers have searched the lake for signs of Nessie. A team of researchers conducted a DNA survey in 2018 in Loch Ness, which revealed no evidence of any giant creatures. Instead, the study only detected the existence of many eels. Located in the Scottish Highlands, Loch Ness is the largest lake in the United Kingdom in terms of volume. It spans 23 miles (36 kilometres) lengthwise and has a maximum depth of 788 feet (240 meters). (With inputs from agencies) WATCH WION LIVE HERE

Hunt for Loch Ness monster 'Nessie' comes to an end; mystery remains unsolved

The biggest search for the Loch Ness Monster started in the Scottish Highlands on Saturday (August 26). According to a report by the news agency AFP, the expedition would deploy drones with thermal scanners, boats with infrared cameras and an underwater hydrophone. The searchers believe that the thermal scanners could prove crucial in identifying any strange anomalies in the murky depths. Alan McKenna from the Loch Ness Exploration said, "It's always been our goal to record, study and analyse all manner of natural behaviour and phenomena that may be more challenging to explain." An aquatic ancient monster The earliest written record of the monster dates back to AD 565 in a biography of the Irish monk, Saint Columba. As per the text, the monster attacked a swimmer and was about to strike again when Columba commanded it to retreat. In May 1933, a report in the Inverness Courier newspaper said that a couple e driving along a newly constructed lochside road saw "a tremendous upheaval" in the water. "There, the creature disported itself, rolling and plunging for fully a minute, its body resembling that of a whale, and the water cascading and churning like a simmering cauldron," the report said. In December same year, the Daily Mail recruited Marmaduke Wetherell, a big game hunter from South Africa to locate the sea serpent. Wetherell found large footprints that he believed belonged to "a very powerful soft-footed animal about 20 feet long". However, zoologists at London's Natural History Museum determined that the tracks were made with an umbrella stand or ashtray that had a hippopotamus leg as a base. In 1934, English physician Robert Wilson captured a photograph that seemingly depicted Nessie's head and elongated neck emerging from the water. The photo, which was published in Daily Mail, was later revealed to be part of a hoax. Over the years, scientists and amateur enthusiasts have tried to find evidence of a large fish living in the depths of the loch. Some have suggested the monster could be a prehistoric marine reptile like a plesiosaur. Paul Nixon, the general manager of the Loch Ness Centre that this weekend gave "an opportunity to search the waters in a way that has never been done before, and we can't wait to see what we find." Thousands set to gather to hunt for the Loch Ness Monster, a famed creature in Scottish folklore

Do you know who Nessie is? The Loch Ness monster? It is a creature from Scottish folklore and as per fables, it lives in Loch Ness in the Scottish Highlands.

For decades now, people have believed in the monster's existence and many have claimed sightings and some even produced dubious "proof", grainy pictures and out-of-focus clips.

According to the Daily Record, VILN set up five cameras around the 23-mile-long loch. The feed streams live so that people could spot the creature from the comfort of their homes. Now, a Lessie enthusiast claims to have done just that.

Eagle-eyed Irishman Eoin O'Fagan claims to have captured two clips of "giant eel-like shapes" moving on the surface of the loch's water.

Talking to Daily Record O'Fagan confirmed that he has captured "two very interesting" video clips using the newly installed cameras.

"The first at the Clansman webcam Loch Ness at 20.13pm on September 6, is of a water disturbance, and a long dark shape which was recorded for 4 minutes, and was the only darkened water visible in the recording of the loch in that time."

The second, he added, was recorded by the Shoreland Lodges Webcam at 7:35 PM on September 15.

As per him, an object moves steadily to the right of the screen and out of the webcam's field of view after making a noticeable appearance on the left near the shore.

He describes the object as "black and long in the region of 6 to 8 feet long, like an eel, or rather a very large or giant one. Its dark black colour breaks the surface occasionally as it moves to the right."

The 57-year-old said he filed the two sightings to The Official Loch Ness Monster Sightings Register but there seems to be some disagreement over whether or not they will be recorded. The man has travelled to Scotland numerous times to try and trace the monster and had his first encounter in 1987.
