Joe Biden's White House aides head to the campaign | Aides to fix low opinion ratings?

One of the defining images of Donald Trump's presidency was his faceoff with the then-US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. As the former president strengthened his frontrunner status by winning the Republican primary in New Hampshire, Pelosi launched yet another attack on Trump.

"I am not going to spend too much time on Donald Trump's cognitive disorders," Pelosi told MSNBC, right before she momentarily confused Donald Trump with Joe Biden.

"He tried to say that Nikki Haley did not allow the National Guard to come but it was Nancy Pelosi. It was nobody. It was Joe...," Pelosi mistakenly said. "It was Donald Trump," she added a moment later about the sequence of events on Jan 6, when supporters of Donald Trump attacked the US Capitol after Joe Biden's presidential victory. Pelosi was referring to the alleged denial of the service of the National Guard at the scene to control the riotous situation in the power corridor of the world's oldest democracy on Jan 6, 2021.

Slugfest of oldies? Pelosi mocks Trump with cognitive disorder barb, then mixes up his name with Biden

Former US President Donald Trump looks set to clinch the Republican nomination for the White House ahead of the November presidential elections after back-to-back wins in the Iowa caucus and the New Hampshire primary. But besides his potential presidency, his weight is making headlines as well.

Trump has now broken his silence about significant weight loss during the recent campaign cycle. The Republican frontrunner revealed that he shed around 20 lbs (a little over 9 kilos). Many are speculating whether Trump deployed pharmaceutical interventions like Ozempic or Wegovy during his weight loss journey.

Contrary to such speculations, Trump disclosed to Fox News that his weight loss was achieved "the hard way".

He attributed his slimmer appearance to a hectic schedule, stating, "I have been so busy I haven't been able to eat very much. I'm not able to sit down and eat like a person like you - you can sit down and eat. Me, it's a little bit tougher."

Dr Carolyn Williams, a licensed dietitian in Alabama, noted that Trump's weight loss appears focused on problematic visceral fat, particularly in the abdominal area.

However, concerns linger about the sustainability and health implications of his approach.

US elections 2024: 'Very sharp' Donald Trump shed weight 'the hard way'

Recent reports in the US media suggest that former US First Lady Michelle Obama may enter the 2024 presidential election, setting the stage for a potential showdown with former US president Donald Trump. Speculations have been rife after Cindy Adams' column in the New York Post and longtime Trump adviser Roger J. Stone Jr predicting the same.

"I continue to predict — as I have for well over two years — that Michelle Obama will be the Democrat Party Nominee for President in 2024," Roger J Stone Jr, the longtime adviser to Donald Trump posted on social media a week before the Iowa caucuses.

What did Cindy Adams say?

Adams dismisses incumbent US President Joe Biden as the next potential president citing his purported reluctance to debate and challenge in delivering pre-written scripts.

In her article, she contends, "Biden won’t debate. Can’t. Our codger-in-chief cannot even read the prewritten script in front of him fast enough to pronounce the words. So, forget him, which most of us already have."

Adding weight to the speculation, Adams pointed to Michelle Obama's expressed apprehension about the 2024 election outcome in a podcast interview.

The columnist suggests that Obama's concerns were not a mere casual remark but a strategic move, noting that she has sent a survey to Democratic Party leaders gauging their support for her potential candidacy.

Donald Trump Vs Michelle Obama in 2024 US elections? Reports say former first lady could replace Joe Biden

A robocall posing as President Joe Biden and advising its recipients not to cast their ballots in Tuesday's presidential primary, the attorney general's office of New Hampshire has announced that it is looking into what seems to be a "unlawful attempt" at voter suppression.

Fake Joe Biden robocall told voters to stay home for primary election

A robocall, which appeared to be an AI-generated fake voice of United States President Joe Biden, appealed to the voters of New Hampshire to not vote in the presidential primary to be held on Tuesday (Jan 23) and save their votes for the general elections to be held in November.

The call's audio was reviewed by a Western media outlet using the anti-robocall application Nomorobo. As per the tracking data of the rob call, a large volume of such calls were made to different people.

“Republicans have been trying to push nonpartisan and Democratic voters to participate in their primary. What a bunch of malarkey,” said Biden's digitally altered voice.

“We know the value of voting Democratic when our votes count. It’s important that you save your vote for the November election. We’ll need your help in electing Democrats up and down the ticket. Voting this Tuesday only enables the Republicans in their quest to elect Donald Trump again," the voice said.

A spokesperson for Write-In Biden, Aaron Jacobs said, "This is deep fake disinformation designed to harm Joe Biden, suppress votes and damage our democracy. It is being referred to law enforcement so that they can determine who is responsible and bring them to justice."

He added that the group is "focused on one goal until polls close on Tuesday: encouraging Granite Staters to write-in Joe Biden".

Meanwhile, Biden’s campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez, in a statement, said, “This matter has already been referred to the New Hampshire Attorney General, and the campaign is actively discussing additional actions to take immediately. Spreading disinformation to suppress voting and deliberately undermine free and fair elections will not stand, and fighting back against any attempt to undermine our democracy will continue to be a top priority for this campaign."

In a statement, the New Hampshire State Justice Department said, "Although the voice in the robocall sounds like the voice of President Biden, this message appears to be artificially generated based on initial indications," adding that it also appears to have been spoofed, making the call appear to "show that it had been sent by the treasurer of a political committee that has been supporting the New Hampshire Democratic Presidential Primary write-in efforts for President Biden".

The New Hampshire Justice Department advised the state's voters to disregard the message and clarified, "Voting in the New Hampshire Presidential Primary Election does not preclude a voter from additionally voting in the November General Election." Its Election Law unit is investigating the matter.

Biden's name will not appear on the New Hampshire Democratic primary ballot in the current cycle.
