The military added that any concerns regarding potential deviations from orders or ethical standards are thoroughly investigated.

The Israeli military said Wednesday (Nov. 20) the Israeli Air Force (IAF) took out the commanders of the anti-tank missile and operations unit of the Lebanon-based militant group Hezbollah in the coastal sector. The Israeli military claimed the commanders were behind several terror attacks targeting civilian communities in the Western Galilee and Israel's coastal area.

The IAF is said to have targeted over 100 sites housing Hezbollah’s launchers, weapons storage facilities, and command centres over the past 24 hours.

"We will not stand by while our capital is attacked," he added.

He recalled the militants "laughing and celebrating" as people around them were dying. They were also "wildly intoxicated" and celebrating "with their pistols, with their knives.”&nbsp;

“There is a circle, [people] laugh, and you don’t know what to do in the moment, whether you should resist or let it pass, how to deal with the situation,” he said.&nbsp;

Bodies of three more Oct 7 hostages recovered overnight from Gaza, says Israeli Army

Israel strikes key residential tower in southern Rafah as ceasefire talks stall

The US said Sunday (Feb 25)&nbsp;that Paris talks&nbsp;came to an "understanding" on a potential ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas.

"Representatives of Israel, the United States, Egypt, and Qatar met in Paris and came to an understanding among the four of them about what the basic contours of a hostage deal for a temporary ceasefire would look like," White House National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan was quoted as saying by&nbsp;CNN.

Israeli media earlier reported that significant progress was made&nbsp;in marathon mediatory talks in Paris aimed at halting fighting between Israel and Hamas. According to media reports, Israel’s ‘war cabinet’ discussed the peace proposal late Saturday (Feb 24) and tacitly approved the deal. However, further negotiations will take place in Qatar. A ceasefire is likely to materialise before March 10, before the commencement of the Ramadan month, the reports said.

The Israel delegation, led by Chief of Mossad David Barnea and Director of Shin Bet, Ronen Bar, held discussions in Paris with officials from Cairo, the US, Qatar and Egypt.

Israel-Hamas war: Paris talks came to 'understanding' on possible truce, says US

Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva said on Friday (February 23) Israel is committing a “genocide” in the middle of a diplomatic rift caused by his remarks comparing the war in Gaza with the Nazi genocide during World War Two.

Lula made the comments at a state-run oil company Petrobras event in Rio on Friday where he said he supports the creation of a Palestinian state.

The president's remarks last Sunday (February 18) comparing the war in Gaza to Hitler’s treatment of Jews led Israel to say he was not welcome there until he took back the comments.

The diplomatic spat entered a third day on Tuesday (February 20), with Brazil's foreign minister calling Israel's response to comments made by Lula da Silva on the Gaza Strip "unacceptable" and "untruthful."

On Saturday (Feb 24), a building was hit by an Israeli airstrike in Rafah, southern Gaza, which killed 8 Palestinians.

Gaza health officials said eight Palestinians were killed and several others were wounded in an Israeli air strike on a house in Rafah where over half of the territory’s 2.3 million people were sheltering.

"They say it is a safe area but we have people being killed each day, we have daily shelling, where is the safe area, it is just words, it is all nonsense, there is no safe place in all of the Gaza strip," said Rafah resident Khaled Ghareez, who went on to claim that the bodies recovered were mostly of women and children.

The Gaza health ministry claimed said ahead of this strike, that 92 people were killed and 123 injured in the last 24 hours.
