India's oldest tigress, affectionately known as Rajmata and identified as ST-2 in the Sariska Tiger Reserve, Rajasthan, breathed her last at the age of 19. Rajmata, credited with revitalising the once barren Sariska reserve, succumbed to injuries and illness after being under medical care for three months.

Rajmata, meaning the king's mother, played a pivotal role in the repopulation of the Sariska Tiger Reserve, which had witnessed the complete extinction of its big cat population due to rampant poaching.

Born to the world-famous tigress Machli from Ranthambore, Rajmata entered Sariska in 2008, becoming the second tigress in the park's repopulation initiative.

The 19-year-old tigress, after sustaining an injury, underwent monitoring by a committee of wildlife doctors.

Confined to an enclosure for approximately 113 days to facilitate medical treatment, Rajmata's movement in the wild was restricted. Her demise was confirmed&nbsp;by wildlife doctors who noted no movement during a routine checkup.

Rajmata's significance extends beyond her maternal role, as she birthed 25 out of the 30 cubs born in the reserve, contributing significantly to Sariska's tiger population recovery.

These duties will be applicable for five years unless revoked, superseded, or amended, according to the notifications. The move extends to gypsum tiles manufactured by some companies in Oman as well.<o:p></o:p>

India is set to get its longest sea bridge - the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL) - on Friday (Jan 12) after it is inaugurated by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. 
 
The 21.8-kilometre-long sea bridge, which connects Navi Mumbai to South Mumbai, will decrease the travel journey from two hours to about 20 minutes.

The MTHL, which is also called Atal Setu after the name of former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee, will be inaugurated on January 12 by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, said the Chief Minister's Office. 
 
As per media reports,&nbsp;light motor vehicles like&nbsp;minibuses, two-axle buses, cars, and taxis will have a speed limit of 100 kilometres per hour. On the bridge's ascent and descent, the speed will remain restricted to 40 kmph. 
 
The official said that the Mumbai police have imposed the speed limit on the longest sea bridge in India to curb "danger, obstructions and inconvenience to the public".

He said that these vehicles will have to go via Mumbai Port-Sewri Exit (Exit 1C) and then take the MBPT Road close to 'Gadi Adda' for further movement. 
 
Entry will not be given to vehicles like motorcycles, mopeds, three-wheelers, autos, tractors, slow-moving vehicles and animal-drawn vehicles, the official further said. 
 
The MTHL runs for 16.50 kilometres over the sea and 5.5 km on land and has six lanes.
