India begins export of indigenously developed Pinaka rocket launchers to Armenia

The government of Canada has taken the decision to go ahead with a "direct indictment" against four Indian nationals who are facing accusations of killing Khalistani separatist leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar, as per Indian media reports.&nbsp;

With this decision, the pre-trial proceedings have been stayed in the Surrey Provincial Court and the case will go directly to the Supreme Court.

The four Indian citizens—Amandeep Singh, Kamalpreet Singh, Karanpreet Singh, and Karan Brar—were earlier set to appear for a hearing in the Surrey Provincial Court on November 21, but now this stands cancelled, and they will appear on February 11, 2025.

Amid this, the EC suspended seven police personnel for violating voter guidelines based on complaints by the Samajwadi Party.

"No eligible voter should be prevented from voting. Any kind of biased attitude during voting will not be tolerated. On receiving a complaint, there will be an immediate investigation. If anyone is found guilty, strict action will be taken," the ECI said in a statement.

This comes after Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav accused police officers of unlawfully checking voter cards and Aadhaar IDs, further urging the poll body to take action based on complaints on its official social media accounts about some communities being prevented from voting.

In a significant step in air interoperability, Indian and Australian Air Forces have agreed on air-to-air refuelling. Under this arrangement, Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF)'s air-to-air refuelling aircraft, the KC-30A Multi-Role Tanker Transport, will be able to refuel Indian Armed Forces aircraft. The arrangement was signed during Australia-India Air Staff Talks in New Delhi earlier on Thursday.

Australia's Deputy Chief of Air Force, Air Vice-Marshal Harvey Reynolds, said in a statement, "This arrangement is a significant step forward in our relationship with India, and will provide valuable opportunities for our personnel to work closely together, share knowledge and expertise, and build trust and understanding."

This is the first such known arrangement India has with any country regarding air-to-air refuelling. There have been cases of mid-air refuelling involving foreign forces, but that is usually during air exercises. The development increases the range and endurance of Indian, and Australian militaries, enhances the shared picture of the Indian Ocean, and supports each other’s deployments and exercises across the Indo-Pacific.&nbsp;
