Gal Gadot is all set to partner with former Warner Bros. executive Sue Kroll for a movie based on Peter Kornbluh`s Politico article `My Dearest Fidel`.`

The `Wonder Woman` star, who is co-producing `My Dearest Fidel` with Kroll and husband Jaron Varsano, might also star in the film.

It will portray how ABC journalist Lisa Howard engaged in what Kornbluh described as "intimate diplomacy" with Castro, Cuba`s revolutionary leader.

"I`m so excited to bring this story to life with great creative partners in Gal, Jaron, Peter, and Chris," Kroll said Wednesday in a statement, as reported by the Reporter.

"This is a remarkable true story, anchored by an incredible woman, and lends itself to a dramatic and thrilling cinematic experience.

"Gadot, on the other hand, said, "When I first read Peter`s article, I was entranced by his thrilling account of a complicated, fascinating woman in the midst of a high-stakes, real-life drama I knew immediately that I had to be involved creatively with telling Lisa Howard`s story, and am thrilled to be producing this film with Sue."

I grew up in the 1990s when superheroes meant only Superman, Batman and Spiderman. The DC comic stars were the introduction to the superhero universe for a lot of us. As we grew up and read the Marvel and DC comic books, we got introduced to many more. In the cinematic universe, there were films made on Superman and Batman and it was easy to pick your favourite superhero.

With changing times, the superhero universe got bigger cinematically and while Marvel adapted, modified to the changing times, DC comic universe somewhat stuck to its conventional ways. In the past few years, there has been a gamut of Marvel movies - each enjoyable and highly entertaining while post-Nolan's Batman series, there has been a serious void from the DC Comic universe on the big screen. Some would argue that there have been the Superman series but were those films even a patch on what Marvel factory was churning?

Zack Snyder, who is credited for Man Of Steel and 300, created a disastrous, melodramatic Batman Vs Superman in 2016. Perhaps learning a few things from his past mistakes, Snyder's latest - The Justice League, attempts at salvaging the now sinking DC comic cinematic universe. But the film only manages to do so in parts.

The film takes off from where Batman Vs Superman ended. With Superman dead, Batman and Wonder Woman are left to defend an evil gigantic force who goes by the name of Steppenwolf. The half man-half bull has acquired the three mother boxes- which basically stores all of the universe' energy - which when brought together can cause excessive destruction the world over. So the two 'veterans' decide to rope in three rookie superheroes- Cyborg, The Flash and Aquaman. And when these five realise that their collective forces aren't enough to fight the villain, they bring back Superman from the dead. Yes, literally.

To its credit, Justice League has an impressive set of actors playing their parts well. They also infuse an underlying humour which creates some genuinely funny moments but when you think of the film in its entirety, there is so much more that could have been done with the film.

Among the actors, its Ezra Miller- as The Flash, who stands out with his quirky lines. Miller gets to say the best lines in the film and you find yourself rooting for him the most. Its also refreshing to see a superhero so openly discussing what all he is afraid of and Miller makes The Flash quite nonchalant and cool. There is also the wonderful Gal Gadot as the Wonder Woman who at many moments literally saves the film from becoming a drag.

The narrative takes too much time to establish the real plot and second half is quite a drag except for the scenes where Miller sparkles as the star-struck superhero fan. In fact, Miller and Affleck's scenes will sort of remind you of Tom Holland and Robert Downey Jr's scenes in Captain America: Civil War. See what DC is doing here?

The plot is predictable like all superhero film plots are. The action scenes lack freshness and the background score is just about average. One can't help but draw comparisons to the thoroughly entertaining Thor: Ragnarok which released just two weeks back. And Justice League fails in comparison to a lot of other superhero films but it isn't necessarily a bad film. It is tedious but is also enjoyable in parts. But then why should ardent DC comics fans settle for something average. The film should be mindbogglingly awesome, no?

Gal Gadot delivers strong message for ''misogynist sexists'' in a new video

Actress Gal Gadot, who is known for her onscreen avatar Wonder Woman, has reportedly refused to return on sets to film the sequel unless Warner Bros fully severs ties with producer Brett Ratner who faces multiple allegations of sexual harassment.

Ratner's contract with the production house is till 2018 and now makers are in a bit of fix.

"Brett made a lot of money from the success of 'Wonder Woman, thanks to his company having helped finance the first movie,” according to a WB insider. “Now Gadot is saying she won't sign for the sequel unless Warner Bros. buys Brett out [of his financing deal] and gets rid of him.”

A studio insider added Gadot is a woman of principles. She also knows that Warner Bros has to side with her on this issue as it develops. They can't have a movie rooted in women's empowerment being part-financed by a man - accused of sexual misconduct against women," the source said.

Earlier this month, six women claimed Ratner sexually harassed them, including actors Olivia Munn and Natasha Henstridge. Ellen Page also accused the producer of homophobic behaviour and that he outed her on the sets of 2006 movie X- Men: The Last Stand.

When contacted reps for Gadot and Ratner did not comment, while a Warner Bros rep said the news was, False.

Miley Cyrus pulls out of 2017 Teen Choice Awards and all that happened at the award ceremony

"Wonder Woman" is coming back for more.

Hollywood movie studio Warner Bros. on Tuesday announced a December 2019 date for the return of the female superhero, played by Gal Gadot, who smashed box office records in June.

Israeli actress Gadot is set to reprise her role as Diana Prince but director Patty Jenkins is yet to be confirmed as directing the sequel.

"Wonder Woman" was the first superhero movie to star a woman since 2005 and the first to be directed by a woman. It rode to the top of the box office on a wave of good reviews and female empowerment, and is now the second-biggest movie of the year in North America after the live action version of "Beauty and the Beast."

"Wonder Woman" has taken in some $780 million at the worldwide box office.

The Warner Bros. statement gave no details about the sequel saying only that "Wonder Woman 2" would be released on Dec. 13, 2019.

Hollywood trade paper Variety reported in June that Jenkins was already working on a script for a sequel and that it would likely be set again in the past, but not during the World War One era of the first movie.

A teaser at the Comic-Con convention in San Diego over the weekend gave a glimpse of "Wonder Woman II," the presumed sequel.

'Wonder Woman' returning for 2019 movie sequel

The writer of the Wonder Woman comic series has confirmed the superhero is bisexual, putting an end to a long held debate on whether she'd had relationships with other women.

Speculation has been rife for many years over the sexuality of the Amazonian princess, who hails from the island Themyscira, which is populated solely by female warriors.

Although she becomes romantically involved with a man who washes up on the island, storylines over the years have implied, if not explicitly stated, that she has also been in love with women.

Greg Rucka, who returned to DC Comics this year to craft the "Rebirth" series commemorating Wonder Woman's 75th year in print, told the Comicosity news website Wonder Woman was "queer."

The word -- which has several definitions -- was defined by the interviewer as "involving, although not necessarily exclusively, romantic and/or sexual interest toward persons of the same gender."

"When you start to think about giving the concept of Themyscira its due, the answer is 'how can they not all be in same sex relationships?' right? It makes no logical sense otherwise," said Rucka, who worked on the character throughout the 2000s.

"You're supposed to be able... to have a fulfilling, romantic and sexual relationship. And the only options are women. But an Amazon doesn't look at another Amazon and say, 'You're gay.' They don't. The concept doesn't exist."

The announcement was mostly welcomed as good news on social media, although not all fans were happy.

"I just found out some people are actually upset Wonder Woman is queer. As if -- what -- you're paranoid Wonder Woman might not date you?" tweeted Mike Drucker, a television comedy writer.

There were no clues to Wonder Woman's bisexuality when Warner Bros screened the first trailer for the upcoming standalone "Wonder Woman" at San Diego Comic-Con in July.

The Amazonian heroine, played by Gal Gadot, is seen leaning over soldier Steve Trevor (Chris Pine) after he has washed up on her island.

"You're a man?" she asks him, and he replies: "Yeah, do I not look like one?"

"Wonder Woman" is scheduled to hit theaters on June 2, 2017, focusing on a character who was introduced earlier this year in the widely-panned "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice."

Comic writer confirms Wonder Woman is 'queer'

"Wonder Woman" star Gal Gadot shared the first poster of the movie on Friday, ahead of its highly anticipated introduction before fans at the San Diego Comic-Con convention.

The image features a profile of the Amazonian superhero in her famous red, blue and gold outfit, clasping a sword against a pink and blue sky, above the words: "Power. Grace. Wisdom. Wonder."

"A dream come true! Happy to finally share this with you all," the Israeli actress and model wrote alongside a post of the image on Twitter. Many convention-goers see today's "Wonder Woman" panel as the big event of Comic-Con. It is expected to premiere the first full trailer for the DC movie ahead of its release next summer.

Reaction to such new material is being watched carefully by industry analysts. "Wonder Woman" is the first modern superhero movie to focus exclusively on a female protagonist. A misogynist social media backlash against the all-female "Ghostbusters" reboot shocked Hollywood, although much of the criticism arose from the fact that the leads in the original film were men.

The reaction to Gadot's tweet was mainly positive, with Chris Cabin of the Collider film blog calling the image "eye-catching in its use of colour and shadow". He added, however, that "part of me isn’t entirely comfortable with the fact that the image blacks out her face and focuses entirely on her figure."

But fan account @dceufacts, which is devoted to news from the DC Comics Extended Universe, posted: "This is gorgeous! Best poster for a superhero movie in ages".

The DC Extended Universe films are distributed by Warner Brothers, which released a new poster on Friday for keenly awaited Harry Potter spin-off "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them".

"We're adding a little magic to (Comic-Con) with this new #FantasticBeasts art," the film's official Twitter account said of the poster.

It features Eddie Redmayne as "magizoologist" Newt Scamander, which is also the pseudonym under which JK Rowling wrote the book. A magizoologist, it seems, is one who studies magical creatures. The poster's artwork highlights the Prohibition-era New York setting of the spin-off, which takes place some 70 years before the events of the Harry Potter films.
