Do you remember the viral video of the Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov driving a Tesla cyber truck mounted with a machine gun on the top? Well, it seems Ramzan Kadyrov's Tesla has hit a roadblock. Kadyrov has accused Elon Musk whom he had previously called the strongest Genius of our time of remotely disabling his Tesla cyber truck. He added that while the Cyber truck performed admirably on the battlefield the vehicle had to be towed off the front lines. Kadyrov in a post on his telegram account said "That's not a nice thing for Elon Musk to do. He gives expensive gifts from the bottom of his heart and then remotely switches them off." <p>Elon Musk shared a TikTok video&nbsp;purportedly featuring a woman of&nbsp;Haitian descent&nbsp;sharing reasons why Haitians eat cats. This comes after former United States president and Republican nominee&nbsp;Donald Trump made claims during the presidential&nbsp;debate with Vice President and Democratic hopeful Kamala Harris, saying that illegal immigrants from Haiti were eating pets in a&nbsp;city in the US state of Ohio.</p>

<p>Musk, who has endorsed Trump ahead of the US presidential election, shared the post after several media outlets were fact-checking claims made by the former president.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The woman, named Rebekah Faidia on TikTok, also speaks about the 'voodoo' practices in Haiti, describing them as "truly demonic". She said that her father immigrated from Haiti to the US in the late 1960s as a teenager.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Noting that the majority of the island does practice voodoo, she said, "My father and I are now estranged, but I did know him in my very, very young years. When he immigrated, he was one person, and they weren't sending thousands of Haitians to one area...he said that the majority of the island does practice voodoo."&nbsp;</p>

<p>She further said that Haitians eat cats for two reasons, survival and animal sacrifices for the religion.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"This is the poorest country in the Western hemisphere. You can't just go to a food bank like you can here (in the US)... People in the US have a really hard time imagining that type of thing, but it is true. Second, they do animal sacrifices for their religion, voodoo. They make these animal sacrifices to these gods for different reasons," she said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Faidia,&nbsp;defending the former president, said, "It is not racist" to acknowledge the problem, adding that everyone just wants to joke about Trump saying this rather than actually checking if this is real.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Right after saying this, he was immediately fact-checked by the debate moderators, who said that there was no proof of that.&nbsp;</p>

Musk, who has endorsed Trump ahead of the US presidential election, shared the post after several media outlets were fact-checking claims made by the former president. The woman, named Rebekah Faidia on TikTok, also speaks about the 'voodoo' practices in Haiti, describing them as "truly demonic". She said that her father immigrated from Haiti to the US in the late 1960s as a teenager. Noting that the majority of the island does practice voodoo, she said, "My father and I are now estranged, but I did know him in my very, very young years. When he immigrated, he was one person, and they weren't sending thousands of Haitians to one area...he said that the majority of the island does practice voodoo." Also read: 'No third debate!': Trump refuses rematch with Kamala Harris, calls first debate 'clear victory' She further said that Haitians eat cats for two reasons, survival and animal sacrifices for the religion. "This is the poorest country in the Western hemisphere. You can't just go to a food bank like you can here (in the US)... People in the US have a really hard time imagining that type of thing, but it is true. Second, they do animal sacrifices for their religion, voodoo. They make these animal sacrifices to these gods for different reasons," she said. Faidia, defending the former president, said, "It is not racist" to acknowledge the problem, adding that everyone just wants to joke about Trump saying this rather than actually checking if this is real. "You all just want to joke about Trump and say that he's crazy for saying that this is happening instead of actually checking at all to see if this is happening," she added. This comes after Trump, during his debate with Democratic nominee Harris, claimed that illegal Haitian immigrants in Ohio were "eating dogs and pets". Right after saying this, he was immediately fact-checked by the debate moderators, who said that there was no proof of that. "In Springfield, they are eating the dogs -- the people that came in -- they are eating the cats," Trump said during the debate. "They are eating the pets of the people that live there, and this is what's happening in our country, and it's a shame," he added. Following Trump's statement, Harris criticised his rhetoric as extreme and unsubstantiated. (With inputs from agencies)

<p>Elon Musk, the owner of X (formerly Twitter), took aim at Australia's government on Friday (September 13), calling them "fascists" over a proposed law aimed at penalising social media companies that fail to control the spread of misinformation.</p>

<p>On Thursday, Australia's Labor government introduced a bill that allows the regulators to fine online platforms up to 5% of their global revenue if they allow misinformation to spread, as part of a global movement to regulate big tech companies.</p>

<p>The law would require social media platforms to implement rules to limit harmful false information. If a platform doesn’t comply, a regulator would step in, set its own standards, and impose fines for failure to meet them. Responding to a post on X about the proposed law, Musk wrote just one word: "Fascists."</p>

<p>A spokesperson for Communications Minister Michelle Rowland emphasised that companies operating in Australia are required to follow Australian laws. "This bill improves the transparency and accountability of platforms for users and the Australian people," Rowland told Reuters.</p>

<p>Bill Shorten, the Government Services Minister, took aim at Musk for shifting stance on free speech. "Elon Musk's had more positions on free speech than the Kama Sutra. <p>Tesla CEO Elon Musk in an unscrupulous move took a "cheap" shot at pop star Taylor Swift for endorsing Kamala Harris after the US vice president's fierce debate with her Republican rival Donald Trump.</p>

<p>Swift in a post on her official Instagram account said that she would be voting for Harris in the US presidential elections that are set to take place in November this year.</p>

<p>The tech billionaire, in a low blow, took to his social media platform X and said, "Fine Taylor... you win... I will give you a child and guard your cats with my life".&nbsp;</p>

<p>Musk's post was an apparent dig at Swift signing off her social media post, where she backed Harris, as 'Childless Cat Lady'.</p>

<p>The remarks by Musk quickly ignited sharp criticism on social media where netizens called the tech billionaire "creepy man".</p>

<p>"This sh*t is creepy man," posted another.</p>

<p>"Am I reading this right that you are offering to have a child with Taylor Swift," quipped the third.</p>

<p>Swift, on Tuesday (Sep 10), supporting Harris said, “I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election. I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them.”</p>

<p>Swift revealed that after an artificial intelligence of her 'falsely endorsing' Trump's presidential run was posted on social media, she decided to side with Harris.&nbsp;</p>

Tesla CEO Elon Musk in an unscrupulous move took a "cheap" shot at pop star Taylor Swift for endorsing Kamala Harris after the US vice president's fierce debate with her Republican rival Donald Trump. Swift in a post on her official Instagram account said that she would be voting for Harris in the US presidential elections that are set to take place in November this year. The tech billionaire, in a low blow, took to his social media platform X and said, "Fine Taylor... you win... I will give you a child and guard your cats with my life". Fine Taylor … you win … I will give you a child and guard your cats with my life — Elon Musk (@elonmusk) September 11, 2024 × Musk's post was an apparent dig at Swift signing off her social media post, where she backed Harris, as 'Childless Cat Lady'. It is pertinent to note that "Childless Cat Lady" is a term used by Trump's running mate JD Vance to mock women without children. Also read: Trump vs Harris: Key quotes from the historic US presidential debate 'Creepy and weird' The remarks by Musk quickly ignited sharp criticism on social media where netizens called the tech billionaire "creepy man". "You are such a f**king creep," said one user. "This sh*t is creepy man," posted another. "Am I reading this right that you are offering to have a child with Taylor Swift," quipped the third. Swift, on Tuesday (Sep 10), supporting Harris said, “I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election. I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them.” Swift revealed that after an artificial intelligence of her 'falsely endorsing' Trump's presidential run was posted on social media, she decided to side with Harris. <p>Setting a highly ambitious timeline, Musk said that if all the tests go well, then Starship will carry people to Mars for the first time in four years.&nbsp;</p>

Space has long been a place of wonder, but it's also an environment inherently dangerous to humans. To date, only about 700 humans have made the journey to space successfully. However, according to Chris Impey, a University of Arizona professor and space exploration expert, with the commercialisation of space by companies like SpaceX and Blue Origin, the number of success stories and the risks are set to heighten. The risks Impey, an astronomer, writing for The Conversation, says "I think a lot about the risks and rewards of exploring space." He says that the overall fatality rate for space travellers is around 3 per cent, a figure "higher than extreme sports such as BASE jumping or jumping off a cliff wearing a wingsuit". Although governments worldwide are dealing with similar battles against fake news and hateful content on X, Europe and the United States are unlikely to do what Brazil did, as per officials, academics, and industry experts, according to a report by Bloomberg. Watch | Elon Musk's X banned in Brazil after disinformation row × Previously, Musk has complied with demands from other nations, including India, to take down content from the social media platform. For instance, in India, the posts about farmer protests were singled out for removal by the government. This week, X also agreed to the European Union's demands to stop processing the personal information of users in the 27-nation bloc to train its artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot Grok. Mariana Valente, a law professor and the director of Brazil's InternetLab, a think tank, said, "Where this is heading from here will really depend on Elon Musk. I think if Elon Musk decides to start to comply, as he eventually did in India, for example, it might be that X comes back." She added, "But if Elon Musk doesn’t act differently, I think X or Twitter will be blocked in Brazil for a long time." Bruna Santos, head of the Wilson Center’s Brazil Institute, said that there should be a discussion about whether Brazil's high court is overstepping its authority, adding that she does believe that Moraes has "gone too far" on various occasions. She added that however, this cannot be discussed at this moment when questioning Moraes "sounds like you are defending Musk". (With inputs from agencies)

Brazil's ban on X 'problematic' as it involves platforms hosting both legal, illegal speech: Expert

Fact check: Does Kamala Harris want to shut down X? Elon Musk, Robert F Kennedy Jr claim so

<p>Billionaire and X owner Elon Musk appeared to have forgotten the name of his own company which he had rebranded after taking over and is now known as X instead of Twitter.</p>

<p>Musk was mocked by the netizens when he shared a post in which his social media platform was called Twitter and not X.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Even after the rebranding, many users continue to call the social media platform by its old name and now with even Musk calling it Twitter, the success of the rebranding is under question.&nbsp;</p>

<h2><strong>Elon Musk's historic rebranding of Twitter&nbsp;</strong></h2>

<p>In October 2022, the billionaire took over Twitter in a $44 billion deal and rebranded the social media platform as "X" in a controversial but major move which received a lot of disapproval.&nbsp;</p>

<p>As per the reports, the rebranding led to a decrease in the market value of the platform by billions of dollars.&nbsp;</p>

<p>However, many old-time users are still calling the social media platform Twitter and not X.&nbsp;</p>

Billionaire and X owner Elon Musk appeared to have forgotten the name of his own company which he had rebranded after taking over and is now known as X instead of Twitter. Musk was mocked by the netizens when he shared a post in which his social media platform was called Twitter and not X. Even after the rebranding, many users continue to call the social media platform by its old name and now with even Musk calling it Twitter, the success of the rebranding is under question. In May 2024, Musk also shifted the website URL from Twitter.com to X.com and has even hosted polls asking users if they prefer old Twitter or the rebranded X. But now the owner of X also appeared to have forgotten that he had rebranded his website. In a post shared on the social media platform, Musk himself has called the social media network Twitter. While referring to the recent ban on X in Brazil, Tesla's billionaire CEO shared a meme in which a man was seen with wads of cash. “POV: VPN companies after Brazil banned Twitter,” the caption read. Netizens react to Musk's blunder The social media users immediately called Musk for making the mistake of calling X as Twitter. His post received more than 62 million views and more than thousands of comments which trolled him. “The rebranding is going so well, even the CEO still calls it Twitter,” said one X user.
