<p>Amitabh Bachchan-Dharmendra starrer ‘Sholay’ is confirmed to be showcased at this year’s International Film Festival (IFFI) that is scheduled in Goa this month.&nbsp;</p>

<p>As the film festival completes 50 successful years, the organisers have arranged some special showcases to show Indian movie lovers some of the most iconic movies. The film will be shown as part of a segment called Retrospective of Amitabh Bachchan. Amitabh Bachchan himself will be attending the opening ceremony of the festival on November 20.</p>

<p>According to the festival’s official website, &nbsp;Amitabh Bachchan, who is the recipient of Dada Saheb Phalke Award, will be honoured at the film festival by showcasing six of his films. The movies which will be screened at IFFI this year apart from Sholay are ‘Deewaar’ (1975), ‘Black’ (2005), ‘Paa’ (2009), ‘Piku’ (2015) and ‘Badla’ (2019).</p>

<p>Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to reveal the news, along with a list of other films to be screened at the festival. Apart from ‘Sholay’, movie watchers can also watch international silent films such as GW Pabst's ‘Pandoras Box’, Alfred Hitchcock's ‘Blackmail’ and Sergei Eisenstein's ‘Battleship Potemkin’.&nbsp;</p>

Filmmaker J Om Prakash, maternal grandfather of Hrithik Roshan, passes away

<p>Actress Esha Deol and her husband, Bharat Takhtani have become parents to a baby girl again. The couple announced the birth of their second baby with a post on social media on Tuesday. Esha took to Instagram to reveal the name of her daughter- Miraya. The baby was born on 10th June.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Moreover, we are not here to debate but to listen to the plight of people as we love this land," said Dharmendra. The 83-year-old revealed that he got emotional when he saw people supporting his son during his first roadshow held after filing nomination papers for the Gurdaspur seat.</p>

<p>"I was watching the roadshow from Mumbai and there was a big crowd. I got emotional. I know people love us but I was surprised by seeing so much love," he said. Sunil Jakhar is the incumbent parliamentarian from Gurdaspur.</p>

<p>He won the seat in the 2017 bye-elections after the death of actor-turned-politician Vinod Khanna. The constituency is a BJP stronghold and was first won by Khanna in 1998. Polling will be held in Gurdaspur on May 19 in the seventh and last phase of the elections. Results for all seven phases will be declared on May 23.</p>

<p>Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Dharmendra Pradhan, on Saturday, said that Tripura is country's number one gas producing point and every poor household in the state will have LPG connection in 2019. &nbsp;</p>

<p>He said that ONGC Tripura has recorded its highest ever production at 4.96 MMSCMD (Million Metric Standard Cubic Meter Per Day) on Saturday.</p>

<p>"Not only 5 MMSCMD but we can produce 10 MMCMD from here for the upcoming 15-20 years," said Dharmendra Pradhan.</p>

<p>"We will try that in 2019 itself none of the poor households in Tripura is without an LPG connection," said Pradhan.</p>

<p>"The ONCG will fulfil all the energy requirement of the state with regard to power plants, domestic industries, transportation and domestic fuel," said Pradhan.</p>

<p>He said that ONGC Tripura can be the largest contributor in realising the dream of Prime Minister Narendra Modi`s "New India".</p>

<p>During a programme at the ONGC Tripura Asset headquarter in Badharghat, the Union Minister along with the Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb digitally inaugurated and laid foundation for four projects including ONGC Sonamura Gas Collecting Station, first PNG Connection in West Tripura district, first CNG Station in Gomati and National Skill Training Institute for Women at Agartala.</p>

<p>Pradhan said that Northeast is the energy storehouse in the form of a huge quantity of crude oil or natural gas found in this region.</p>

<p>The Union Minister said that an LPG bottling centre is coming up in the outskirts of capital Agartala and to avoid the uncertain hilly route from Guwahati, the Government of India has got it cleared from the Bangladesh government to bring LPG through the Chittagong port so that there is a steady supply of LPG to Tripura round the year. He said, in addition to this, 40 more LPG distribution centers and 150 fuel filling centers are going to come up in Tripura.</p>

<p>The Union Minister also declared the setting up of National Institute of Skill Trainer in Tripura at the cost of Rs 16 crores for enhancing the income of the women, especially in the SHG and household bamboo handicraft sector through advanced training.</p>

<p>Veteran actor Dharmendra and director Rajkumar Hirani were honoured for their contribution in Hindi cinema at the 55th Marathi Film Ceremony held in Mumbai on Monday.</p>

<p>The ceremony was organised by Maharashtra government. Chief Minister Devendra Fadanvis and Maharashtra's education and cultural affairs minister Vinod Tawde were the among the guests.</p>

<p>Abhay Deol was determined to create his own identity when he made his debut over a decade ago but coming from a film family, the actor says he was conflicted about fame. Abhay says people initially expected him to follow in the footsteps of his uncle Dharmendra and cousin Sunny Deol but he chose alternative cinema over commercial projects to assert his individuality.<br />

"I feel my advantage of coming from a film family is -- having seen fame up close, having seen the industry so close and how it works, I was not enamoured by fame.I wasn't looking to be a star, I just happened to love acting, I was a reluctant actor. So I was like how do I manage this without taking in the frenzy of becoming a star," Abhay told&nbsp;in an interview.<br />

Abhay, who made his debut with Imtiaz Ali's 'Socha Na Tha', says he remained doubtful about fame even when it came knocking at his door.</p>

<p>The 42-year-old actor says he "ran away" when 'Dev D', directed by Anurag Kashyap, became a cult hit as he felt its success would affect him "most likely in a negative way".<br />

"Somewhere it is negative because I should have been around to promote my film and myself. I didn't do that. But do I regret it? No. Because it kept me grounded. Maybe I didn't take the advantage and become a star and get all the brands so that I could solidify my space in the world," he says.<br />

The actor played a messed up man who gets a second chance at both love and life in the film, a modern take on 'Devdas'. Looking back, Abhay believes he should have approached the film's success in a more balanced way.</p>

<p>"The reaction to 'Dev D' success wasn't a balanced one from my end. I ran away! I should have stayed around and seen how I could balance things. But I wasn't capable of that. That's my background," he says. Though he was able to create a space for his brand of cinema, Abhay believes the industry was unwilling to put money on him.<br />

"For the first film, putting the name (Deol) behind me is understandable but as time progressed, people started to accept (me), in fact, they liked that I was my own individual.</p>

<p>"But the industry could not put money behind it (my individuality) because they can put money behind a brand, which is what my family name is, but they couldn't do with the individual that I was. It didn't make any monetary sense to them," he says. Even though he comes from a film background, Abhay says he is "not a protege" that filmmakers would keep taking chances on him.<br />

He went on to star in critically-acclaimed films such as 'Manorama Six Feet Under', 'Oye Lucky Lucky Oye' and 'Shanghai' and further cemented his career by venturing out in commercial movies such as 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara' and 'Happy Bhaag Jayegi'.</p>
