<p>Taking to X, Abhishek wrote, "This week I have been blessed with two releases and one controversy. I’ve been reading and hearing a lot of reports about Dharma Productions supposedly firing my company, Casting Bay, during the casting process of Agneepath (2012)."</p>

<p>He added, "Unfortunately, this situation has been completely misrepresented as accusatory on our part. In a podcast/interview, I had stated the reason for our dismissal, acknowledging that we were unable to align with the vision of director Karan Malhotra for Agneepath."</p>

<p>He also emphasised that he and Anmol were quite young at the time, around 20 to 23 years old, with little to no experience in casting for a major commercial film, which perhaps led to us misinterpreting Malhotra’s requirements for the project.</p>

<p>He clarified that he has not accused or suggested any wrongdoing on the part of Dharma Productions. He went on to say that he has deep respect for Dharma Productions and Karan Johar.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"Due to professional circumstances, on which we have decided to maintain a dignified silence -- we will be recasting Dostana 2, directed by Collin D'Cunha. Please wait for the official announcement soon," the announcement read on Instagram handle dharma movies.</p>

<p>Actor Abhishek Banerjee, who features in the 'Khilauna'&nbsp;segment of the upcoming Netflix anthology 'Ajeeb Daastaans', says he initially could not believe that the movie was being made by Dharma Productions. The film, which features four shorts from filmmakers Neeraj Ghaywan, Kayoze Irani, Shashank Khaitan and Raj Mehta, is the latest anthology to come out of Dharmatic, the digital content company of Karan Johar-led Dharma Productions.</p>

<p>The movie, as its title suggests, is about the third wheel in relationships and explores complex themes of fractured relationships, and human emotions such as jealousy, entitlement, prejudices and toxicity, and their effects.</p>

<p>Banerjee, known for his scene-stealing acts in movies and shows such as 'Pataal Lok', 'Stree', 'Mirzapur'&nbsp;and 'Bala', said the film was different from the ones that have come out of Dharma, which is primarily known for its love stories and family dramas. "It took me a little time to accept the fact that this was happening at Dharma. Because you have a very different image about the production house and also the director... Suddenly you reach the set and realise that it is actually being made.</p>

<p>"So in the process of the film, I realised what we are making and I thoroughly enjoyed the journey," the 35-year-old actor told PTI in an interview.</p>

<p>Directed by Mehta of 'Good Newwz'&nbsp;fame, 'Khilauna'&nbsp;also features Nushrratt Bharuccha and child actor Inayat Verma. The movie presents the dark and twisted tale of a housemaid trying to make things better for her and her little sister.</p>

<p>Banerjee plays the role of Sushil, who works as a person who irons clothes to earn his living. Not just the banner, the actor said he had a different perception about the film's director as well. "The script was the major factor because I was blown away by the story. When we started working on it, the first trailer of 'Good Newwz'&nbsp;had been launched.</p>

<p>"When I met him, I realised that it was actually a very dark world that they are creating. So, it was a great opportunity for me to work with a great production house and a great director. It was always a win-win situation."</p>

<p>In 2020, Banerjee was praised for his performance as Vishal 'Hathoda'&nbsp;Tyagi, a notorious hitman in smash-hit Banerjee said he has been keenly observing people from a young age and in turn, tries to bring their traits and nuances into his characters.</p>

<p>"I relate to everybody in the society and therefore, I want my characters to feel relatable to the audience. I observe society very closely and I just talk to everyone.</p>

<p>"I don't have this hierarchy in my mind that I should talk to people who belong to the upper class. I like to interact with everyone and try to find out about their personal stories. If there's a carpenter working at home, then I will start chatting with him about his family. I try to bring these elements in my characters."</p>

<p>'Ajeeb Daastaans', which also features Fatima Sana Shaikh, Jaideep Ahlawat, Konkona Sen Sharma, Aditi Rao Hydari, Shefali Shah and Manav Kaul, will premiere on Netflix on April 16.</p>

On Thursday night Johar wrote an open letter and apologised To Bhandarkar but stated that he was not going to change the title.&nbsp;<br />

“I humbly apologise for any grievance that has been caused to you during the course of the last few weeks. However, I would want to clarify that we have chosen this new and different title -The Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives keeping in mind the non-fiction format of our reality-based franchise series. As our title was distine, I did not foresee it upsetting you as it has and for that I duly apologise.”<br />

I want to inform you that we have been promoting our series with the hashtag 'Fabulous Lives'&nbsp;on all social media platforms, which is the franchise title we intend to go ahead with. We assure you that the format, nature, audience and the title of our series are different and would not in any manner dent or encumber the exploitation of your work," Johar added in the letter.</p>

Madhur Bhandarkar accepts Karan Johar's apology, adds 'this is not how real relationships work' 

<p>Karan Johar recently announced the much-awaited sequel to John Abraham, Priyanka Chopra and Abhishek Bachchan starrer hit film ‘Dostana’ as Kartik Aaryan and Janhvi Kapoor take over the mantle. The announcement also came with another revelation that a third actor or actress will be added to the cast as the first film too had three stars.&nbsp;</p>

"Investigation is underway to identify the source of the fire," Senior police inspector, Jyotsna Rasam was quoted as saying. "We have disconnected their electric and water supply. Action will be taken if lapses are found," added chief fire officer PS Rahangdale.</p>

<p>According to reports, the fire spread quickly through the godown. &nbsp;A fire fighter also got injured during the accident and was rushed to a hospital, where he was declared stable.</p>

<p>While the actual damage is not known yet but reports indicate that the godown housed memorabilia and artifacts from old Dharma films and all are likely to have gotten destroyed.&nbsp;</p>
