The exit of David Warner from the IPL 2018 has given the squad a major set back and increases dependency on bowlers

Sunrisers Hyderabad, popularly known as "The Orange Army," came into the existence in 2012 when they replaced former Hyderabad-based franchise Deccan Chargers after they were controversially terminated in the Indian Premier League. The franchise is owned by Kalanithi Maran of Sun TV channel Network and has Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Hyderabad, as its home ground. They have a glorious record when they made it to the playoffs in the first season and claimed the IPL trophy in 2016. Hyderabad always believed in having a power-pack bowling but it has been compromising with its batting side. Now, the exit of David Warner from the IPL 2018 has given the squad a major set back. In the wake of the recent ball-tampering scandal that happened in the third Test match between Australia and South Africa at Cape Town, Warner has been suspended from the upcoming edition of IPL. × Cricket Australia has given a 12-month ban to Steve Smith and David Warner and a 9-month ban to Cameron Bancroft for altering the condition of the ball. Lehmann was hailed as a saviour when he took over in 2013, but critics now accuse him of overseeing a toxic culture that has dented the reputation of the famed Baggy Green cap

Coach Darren Lehmann appears to have survived the ball-tampering scandal that has rocked Australian cricket, even as the win-at-all-costs mentality he instilled in the team comes under fresh scrutiny. Lehmann was hailed as a saviour when he took over in 2013, but critics now accuse him of overseeing a toxic culture that has dented the reputation of the famed Baggy Green cap. Former Australian skipper Steve Smith's participation in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) season will be decided after Cricket Australia's report on the ball-tampering controversy during Australia's third Test against South Africa.

Yesterday, Smith had stepped down as captain of IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals. Ajinkya Rahane has been announced his replacement for the XIth edition.

"We were waiting for Cricket Australia's report. We have already written to them and we are expecting their written reply. The moment it comes, we will be deciding about it," said IPL chairman Rajeev Shukla.

Shukla added the board will not hesitate to take strict action against Smith.

"If they are going to punish him then we will also think on those lines."

Sukla further said that there is enough time for the edition to start and hence they want every angle of Smith's to be investigated before they take any decision.

"We want everything to be investigated. There are certain provisions in our player regulations, accordingly, we will decide. Our league is going to commence from April 7 so there is no hurry,"

Smith has been banned for one Test and fined 100 per cent match fee by the International Cricket Council (ICC) after admitting that he orchestrated a plan to ball tamper.

Following the scandal, Smith and David Warner both stepped down as Australia captain and vice-captain respectively.

Meanwhile, Rajasthan Royals will play their first match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 9, who are captained by Smith's compatriot Warner.

<p>The prince of Kolkata Sourav Ganguly is in the news again. His autobiography “A Century Is Not Enough” is out.</p>

<p>As far as the title of the book goes, it seems that he was inspired by ex-diplomat Kunwar Natwar Singh, who released his autobiography a few years back with the title “One Life Is Not Enough”. But barring title it is a different stuff altogether.</p>

<p>Though, I still have to read the book but have read many reviews of it and got to know about it to the considerable extent. As I read in one of the reviews of the book, you may love Sourav or despise him but you have to accept that he has been one of the most impactful players in the Indian Cricket in the recent decades.</p>

<p>Sourav Ganguly is the man with strong conviction – “I am like this only, leave me or take me” sort of. When Ganguly is telling the world about his life and career through his book, for someone like me who had followed his career from end-to-end, it becomes quite important to recall salient moments of his career.</p>

<p>When Ganguly was selected for the tri-series in Australia in 1991-92, all we thought that he was a budding cricketer, son of an influential Cricket administrator who was pushed to international arena quite prematurely.</p>

Sourav Ganguly had a roller coaster career during 1996-2008 for India and for IPL thereafter for few years

The prince of Kolkata Sourav Ganguly is in the news again. His autobiography “A Century Is Not Enough” is out. As far as the title of the book goes, it seems that he was inspired by ex-diplomat Kunwar Natwar Singh, who released his autobiography a few years back with the title “One Life Is Not Enough”. But barring title it is a different stuff altogether. Though, I still have to read the book but have read many reviews of it and got to know about it to the considerable extent. As I read in one of the reviews of the book, you may love Sourav or despise him but you have to accept that he has been one of the most impactful players in the Indian Cricket in the recent decades. Sourav Ganguly is the man with strong conviction – “I am like this only, leave me or take me” sort of. When Ganguly is telling the world about his life and career through his book, for someone like me who had followed his career from end-to-end, it becomes quite important to recall salient moments of his career. When Ganguly was selected for the tri-series in Australia in 1991-92, all we thought that he was a budding cricketer, son of an influential Cricket administrator who was pushed to international arena quite prematurely. Since he was with the side for the months (remember each side played eight group matches in that series), he was given a chance in an ODI (his debut match for India) against West Indies. It was a forgettable show Ganguly was dropped and forgotten. We hardly noticed him for the next 4 ½ years, until his name was announced (rather unexpectedly) for the tour of England in the summer of 1996. He and Rahul Dravid grabbed the places vacated by Vinod Kambli and Sanjay Manjrekar in the middle order with both the hands. Opinion: How Sourav Ganguly led team India from one victory to another

<p>Former South Africa captain Graeme Smith on Monday criticised the punishment of one-match ban to former Australia skipper Steve Smith, describing the ICC’s punishment as too lenient.</p>

<p>“I think that they [ICC] had an opportunity to set a precedent here,” “I think it [Smith’s punishment] is too lenient," Graeme Smith said.&nbsp</p>

<p>“It’s something that he’s admitted and that he’s aware of and was a part of and that he planned to cheat. I felt the ICC had an opportunity and in my mind they haven’t dealt with it effectively.</p>

<p>Smith will miss the fourth and final Test against the Proteas after confessing that he was behind the ball-tampering scandal that has engulfed cricket.</p>

<p>Another player Cameron Bancroft, who received three demerit points and a 75 per cent fine of his match fee, was caught on camera rubbing the ball with yellow tape on day three of the third Test in Cape Town before Smith revealed the premeditated idea on Saturday.</p>

<p>“I know the ICC have stuck to the letter of their system but having captained before, the spirit of the game gets drummed down as a captain, and the ICC make a conscious effort before every series to make sure that as a leader you’re aware of that and it’s your responsibility."</p>

<p>Graeme stated that in many ways Cricket Australia have been firmer than the ICC.</p>

<p>Wicketkeeper Tim Paine was named captain on day four as the Australians were crushed by 322 runs on Sunday.</p>

<p>Shane Warne is blown away by watching bowling skills of a 6-year-old Pakistani kid, Eli Mikal Khan. Mikal, whose bowling action is very much similar to Australian spinning legend Shane Warne, has stunned the cricket spectators by his amazing bowling techniques at such a tender age. Recently, Warne tweeted that, "Absolutely fantastic, blown away on how good the ball comes out of your hand, especially at the age of only 6 - well done and keep up the great work. One tip - get that bowling arm a little higher!"</p>
