Referring to a 2010 verdict of the Supreme Court, the judge said, "There is no presumption that every suicide committed by a married woman in her in-laws' house or at her parents' house has to be because she was suffering harassment at the hands of her husband or her in-laws. Suicides are committed by living human beings for various reasons, some are not able to bear the normal stresses which are common in life." Noting the evidence before it, the court said that it was not convinced about the truthfulness of the charges, nor was the prosecution able to prove the charges beyond a reasonable doubt.

"The factum of unnatural death in the matrimonial home and that too within seven years of marriage is thus ipso facto not sufficient to bring home the charge under Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 304B (cruelty) and 498A (dowry death) against him," the court said in its judgment passed on August 9.

Noting "discrepancies and contradictions" in the testimonies of the deceased's parents, the court said that they failed to substantiate the prosecution's case.

It said, "Bare perusal of the suicide note shows that the deceased ended her life out of her own will and it is categorically stated that nobody is responsible for her act... The document contradicts and demolishes the allegations of harassment or cruelty made against the accused for meeting the demand of dowry." It said the deceased did not make any complaint against her husband to anyone during her lifetime.

"In view of the material inconsistencies in the testimony of the prosecution witnesses and due to lack of cogent evidence lead on the record, this court is of the view that the prosecution has miserably failed to prove its case beyond reasonable doubt and the evidence coming on record entitles the accused to the benefit of doubt," the judge said, acquitting the husband.

Malviya Nagar police station had registered a case against the accused.

A weird divorce case was filed by a couple in Taiwan mentioning that the wife demanded cash from her husband every time he wished to have sex with her.

In 2021, the husband filed for divorce but the wife promised that she would work on their relationship, so the man decided to withdraw the lawsuit and also took the significant step of registering their property in her name.

&nbsp;The criminal election interference case against former US president Donald Trump has been stayed for months till an appellate panel decides if the district attorney in Fulton County needs to be disqualified from prosecuting the case with a conflict of interest.

The court, in a one-page order, said that any movement at the trial-court level related to Trump and eight other defendants who have filed a plea against the ruling which permitted prosecutor Fani T Willis to stay on the case was “stayed pending the outcome of these appeals.”

The former president's lawyers have repeatedly asked for the removal of Willis from the case while arguing that she is allegedly involved in a romantic relationship with another prosecutor.

The judge overseeing the case last month said that no conflict of interest was found by the court and permitted the case to proceed, as Trump's appeal remained pending.&nbsp;

However, the latest decision will stop the case from proceeding till the appeal ruling on Willis.&nbsp;

Currently, the Georgia Court of Appeals is scheduled to hear arguments on October 4 which makes it highly unlikely to settle the case ahead of the presidential election in November.

Trump, along with 18 others, is facing prosecution in Georgia for conspiring to overturn the state's 2020 election results. The trial was almost upended after one of the co-defendants said that Willis' romantic relationship with lead prosecutor Nathan Wade was benefitting her improperly.

After some tense days in court in February, Willis finally accepted her relationship with Wade but denied getting any benefits.

Judge Scott McAfee finally found in March that Willis had a "serious lapse in judgment" and that the case suffered damage because of the relationship, with the "appearance of impropriety".

Forensic examination suggests girl was alive when burnt On the fateful day, the girl had taken the cattle herd of her family for grazing when she faced sexual assault. The incident took place in the Shahpura area of Kotri tehsil in Bhilwara. After the girl did not come back home, her family started looking for her. Speaking to the media, her brother said, "We started looking for her in the afternoon when the cattle returned but my sister didn't return with them." Subsequent forensic investigation of body parts revealed that the girl was burnt alive. "Forensic examination report suggested the girl was alive before being burnt in the furnace. She could (have been) unconscious but she was alive," said a senior police officer.
