Indian soldiers, deployed in North Africa, West Asia, and campaigns in Italy, Burma, played a significant role in World War II, serving as part of the British Indian Army. He said, “India deployed more than 2.5 million volunteer soldiers across the China-Burma-India theatre, North Africa, and European battlefields, and continuously supplied strategic resources, thus serving as a solid pillar of the Allied Eastern Theatre.”&nbsp;He was making the comments at the 80th Anniversary of the Victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance. India's External Affairs Minister Dr S Jaishankar recently pointed out that 75 per cent of disengagement at the border has been achieved.&nbsp;

Following the remarks by EAM Jaishankar, the Chinese restated that disengagement has been achieved in four&nbsp;areas in the western sector, including Galwan. The disengagement in these areas has been public knowledge for some time now.

"This incident occurred after Iftar (breaking of fast). The car was parked in the parking lot of the Serena Hotel. The blast killed four people&nbsp;and injured 11. One of our police constables is among the injured," Mir Ziaullah Langove, Balochistan provincial minister, said.&nbsp;

Nong Rong, the Chinese ambassador to Pakistan, was staying at the hotel with four other Chinese delegates.

He was out for a meeting at the time of the explosion.

In Beijing, the Chinese foreign ministry is alarmed and has condemned the attack, promising to firmly support Pakistan's anti-terrorism efforts.

"China strongly condemns the terrorist attack, expresses its condolences to the tragic victims and extends its sympathy to the injured," Wang Wenbin, foreign ministry spokesperson, said. &nbsp;

"China will continue to firmly support Pakistan's counter-terrorism efforts, jointly maintain and promote regional security and stability, and ensure the safety of Chinese personnel and institutions in Pakistan."

In Islamabad, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan said he was saddened by the loss of innocent lives, promising to not let the scourge of terrorism re-emerge.

However, the people of Balochistan will tell you this promise means nothing.&nbsp;The province has seen six decades of insurgency by separatists who want independence from Pakistan. Their objective is to end Islamabad's monopoly and exploitation of the province's mineral resources.

This conflict intensified with the onset of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in 2017, which is increasingly turning Balochistan into a Chinese colony.

Billions of dollars are flowing into the regions, thousands of outsiders are getting jobs, but the Baloch people continue to toil in poverty as they are pushed to the margins.

In recent years, they have carried out multiple attacks on Chinese investments.

Three Chinese nationals were injured in a suicide attack near Quetta in 2018.&nbsp;In 2019, gunmen stormed a hotel in the Chinese-run Gwadar seaport, killing five people. And in 2020, Baloch insurgents stormed the Karachi Stock Exchange, in which nine people were killed.&nbsp;

With the latest suicide attack that targeted the Chinese ambassador, it has become absolutely clear that Balochistan is slowly becoming China's Achilles'&nbsp;heel.

It is becoming a big problem for China's mega Belt and Road Initiative and the jewel in its crown, the CPEC.&nbsp;

Azhar Ikram, a senior police official in the city, confirmed the death toll and said that the Chinese ambassador was staying at the hotel, but was not present at the time of the blast.

"Initial probe suggests it was an IED planted in one of the vehicles," Ikram said. 
No group immediately claimed the attack.

In 2019 gunmen stormed a luxury hotel overlooking a flagship CPEC project -- the deep-water seaport in Gwadar that gives China strategic access to the Arabian Sea -- killing at least eight people.

And in June, Baloch insurgents targeted the Pakistan Stock Exchange, which is partly owned by Chinese companies.

All the attacks were claimed by the Balochistan Liberation Army.

Speaking exclusively to WION, China's Ambassador to India Luo Zhaohui said: "Training of diplomats is just first step. I am sure in future dates, discussion going on how to upgrade and cooperate on other concrete projects. This is just beginning for China India to cooperate on Afghan issues. This came on a day when India started the training of Afghan diplomats as part of the outcome from Wuhan. India and China, after the informal summit in Wuhan between Indian PM Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping, agreed on several things including joint projects in Afghanistan. The training of 10 Afghan diplomats which will take place for two weeks from October 15 to 25 is part of the informal summit that took place in Wuhan. In the second leg of the training, the Afghan diplomats will go to China to be trained by the foreign ministry in Bejing.

The Chinese ambassador also called for "China India plus" cooperation. He added that "China-India Plus cooperation should be extended from Afghanistan to other countries such as Nepal, Bhutan, Maldives, Iran and Myanmar. We can also join hands under the mechanisms of SAARC, BIMSTEC and BCIM to promote 
regional peace, stability and prosperity."&nbsp;

Chinese media reports have suggested that India and China are planning a rail link connecting Afghanistan and Uzbekistan.

Highlighting India and China's "common interests and similar stance" on Afghanistan, Ambassador Zhaohui said both of "us support an Afghan-led and Afghan-owned peace reconciliation process. Both of us uphold that Afghanistan should realise peace, stability and prosperity. Both of us are against terrorism."

Cui said China does not want to have a trade war with the United States or with anybody else, but China is not afraid of and will not recoil from one if somebody imposes a trade war on it.

Cui&#39;s remarks came after US President Donald Trump on Thursday signed a memorandum that could impose tariffs on up to 60 billion US dollars of imports from China, the latest unilateral move that poses a threat to global trade.

&quot;As far as a possible trade war is concerned, we never wanted to start, but if somebody imposed a trade war on us, will fight to the end. Trump has directed US Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer to publish a list of proposed Chinese goods that could be subject to tariffs in 15 days, while the US Treasury Department will have 60 days to propose restrictions on Chinese investment in the United States, according to the presidential memorandum.

The tariffs &quot;could be about 60 billion&quot; dollars, Trump said on Thursday at the White House before signing the memorandum.&nbsp;

But a senior White House official told reporters earlier in the day that the number would be close to 50 billion dollars.
