Quentin Tarantino has shared the details of characters to be played by actors Leornado DiCaprio and Brad Pitt in his upcoming directorial 'Once Upon a Time in Hollywood'. 
 
The movie, which is Tarantino's ninth directorial, is based on the murder of actor Sharon Tate and three others at the hands of the Manson Family cult.&nbsp; 
 
It features DiCaprio, 44, as Rick Dalton, an ageing, out-of-work actor, with Pitt, 55, playing his longtime stunt double named Cliff Booth. The two characters happen to be the neighbours of Tate, essayed by Margot Robbie in the film. 
 
Talking to a daily, the filmmaker said DiCaprio's Dalton is "a man full of inner turmoil and self-pity for not being in a better position, career-wise". 
"But as is Rick's way, he blames everybody but himself," Tarantino said. 
 
He called Pitt's Booth, who is a World War II veteran, an "indestructible" person.&nbsp; 
 
"He could kill you with a spoon, a piece of paper or a business card. Consequently, he is a rather Zen dude who is troubled by very little," he added.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced earlier this week that the Oscars for best cinematography, film editing, short films and makeup/hairstyling would be presented during the commercials in the Feb. 24 telecast. The academy said edited versions of the winner acceptance speeches would be included later in the live broadcast. 
 
The plan is part of an effort to make the Oscar telecast shorter and boost television viewership. A total of 24 Oscars are handed out at the Hollywood ceremony. Organizers have pledged to trim its duration by about 40 minutes to three hours this year. 
 
But the open letter, signed by more than 50 directors, actors and filmmakers, accused the academy of "relegating these essential crafts to lesser status" and insulting the professionals who work in the four areas. 
 
The academy on Wednesday defended the changes, blaming "inaccurate reporting and social media posts" that it said had "understandably upset many Academy members." 
 
Some news reports suggested that the winners of the four Oscars would not be included at all on the Oscars telecast. 
 
In a letter to its 8,000 members, the academy said representatives of the four branches affected had volunteered to take part in the new plan. 
 
"No award category at the 91st Oscars ceremony will be presented in a manner that depicts the achievements of its nominees and winners as less than any others," the academy letter said. 
 
The changes were also attacked on <a href="http://www.wionews.com/entertainment/the-academy-faces-backlash-from-cuaron-del-toro-as-it-decides-to-give-techincal-oscars-during-ad-break-196991">Twitter by the likes of Cuaron,</a> who is Oscar-nominated for both cinematography and directing his best-picture contender, 'Roma.' 
 
"In the history of CINEMA, masterpieces have existed without sound, without color, without a story, without actors and without music. No one single film has ever existed without CINEMAtography and without editing," the Mexican filmmaker tweeted.

The film, which already boasts of big names like Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, and Margot Robbie, is based on the murder of actor Sharon Tate and three others at the hands of the Manson family cult.

DiCaprio, 43, plays Rick Dalton, an aging, out-of-work actor in the film, with Pitt, 54, as his longtime stunt double named Cliff Booth. The two characters happen to be the neighbors of Tate, who will be portrayed by Robbie.

Pacino, 78, will play Marvin Schwarz, the agent of Dalton, as&nbsp;reported.

Film star Brad Pitt has been cleared of abuse allegations in a child welfare investigation and has asked a court to grant him shared custody of his six children with his estranged wife, actress Angelina Jolie, a source close to the matter said on Wednesday.

Pitt, 52, fully cooperated in a comprehensive inquiry conducted by the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services, which found no wrongdoing on his part, according to the source, who spoke on condition of anonymity.

The Hollywood power couple, dubbed &quot;Brangelina&quot; during their decade-long romance, split following an incident on a private plane in which Pitt was reported to have lost his temper in front of one or more of the children.
