The incident happened on flight SG-268, which took off from Mumbai airport at 2 am on Tuesday (Jan 16), after an hours-long delay. It was supposed to have taken off at 10.55 pm on Monday (Jan 15).

"It was known that the passenger on 14D seat had gone to the toilet soon after the takeoff and the seatbelt signs went off. Sadly, he got trapped inside as the toilet door malfunctioned," media reports quoted a ground staffer in Bengaluru Kempegowda International Airport as saying.

The cabin crew tried to open the toilet door but could not.

An air hostess reportedly wrote a note and slipped it under the crack of the toilet door.

It read, "Sir, we tried our best to open the door, however, we could not. Do not panic. We are landing in a few minutes, so please close the commode lid and sit on it and secure yourself. As soon as the main door is open, an engineer will come."

An airport official in Bengaluru reportedly said, "The poor man flew from Mumbai to Bengaluru inside the toilet and, shockingly, landed trapped inside the tiny lavatory."&nbsp;

The plane landed at KIA at 3:42 am on Tuesday (Jan 16).

After that, the man was given first aid, a media outlet said quoting an officer. "The passenger was totally traumatised due to claustrophobia."&nbsp;

SpiceJet later issued a statement, "On January 16, a passenger unfortunately got stuck inside the lavatory for about an hour on SpiceJet flight operating from Mumbai to Bengaluru, while the aircraft was airborne due to a malfunction in the door lock. Throughout the journey, our crew provided assistance and guidance to the passenger."&nbsp;

SpiceJet also reportedly gave a full refund to the hapless passenger.

A 56-year-old man was arrested&nbsp;upon arrival at Bengaluru's Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) on Tuesday (May 16) afternoon.&nbsp;He was arrested because he was smoking a beedi,&nbsp;a locally made cigarette&nbsp;in which tobacco is rolled into dried plant leaves,&nbsp;aboard an Akasa Air aircraft from Ahmedabad to Bengaluru.

The man,&nbsp;a native of Marwar junction in Rajasthan's Pali district, has been sent to the Bengaluru Central Jail. This is KIA's first arrest for smoking a beedi.&nbsp;

Earlier this year, KIA police arrested two passengers for smoking cigarettes aboard a plane. Kumar, who works in construction, told police that he is self-employed and that this was his first time flying.

A senior police official emphasised that failing to identify smoke during security frisking is a major lapse, reported Times Now.

"Cigarettes are easily detectable. The only explanation for such an incident is a failure in the frisking process," the officer stated &nbsp;as quoted by Times now.&nbsp;

In the prior two incidents, the accused were well aware of the rigorous no-smoking ban on aeroplanes yet were nevertheless found smoking. According to an investigating officer, Kumar, as a first-time traveller, claimed to be uninformed of the no-smoking regulation.

"Kumar is a laborer from Marwar. He was accompanying an elderly person who was traveling to the city for a post-death ceremony of a relative," the officer explained.

"Since I regularly travel by train and smoke inside the toilet, I thought I could do the same on the flight and decided to smoke a beedi," Kumar confessed to the police.

The man was onboard an Akasa aeroplane (flight&nbsp;Q) bound for Bengaluru when the crew spotted him smoking inside the bathroom. The airline's duty manager, lodged a complaint against him&nbsp;with KIA police shortly after arriving at approximately 1:10 p.m.

According to a senior police officer, once detained, the accused must spend at least one week in court custody. "Smoking in midair poses a risk to everyone," the officer emphasised.

<h2>Unruly passengers on board</h2>

Smoking, including the use of e-cigarettes, is forbidden on flights in India, according to The Aircraft Rules of 1937. However, a number of violations have been recorded around the country in recent days.

Indigo and Air India both reported passengers who were found smoking in restrooms in early March. A 24-year-old female passenger on a Bengaluru-bound IndiGo flight was detained for smoking in the restroom. The cabin crew noticed the cigarette in the garbage and doused it with water. A passenger smoking inside the lavatory of a Delhi-bound flight had been discovered by Air India personnel the day before. The cabin crew had detected smoke coming from the lavatory even before the fire alarm went off, reported Live Mint.

The prices of flights have skyrocketed in the past two days, almost doubling key routes as demand amid the Hindu festival surges.

This was because of the limits imposed on domestic airfares were removed by the aviation ministry after approximately 27 months. &nbsp;As a result, airlines were free to decide what to charge passengers post-August 31.

Vijay doesn’t have security guards to protect him from unwanted attention. “I only have my best friend with me when I travel. He has been my friend for 30 years. Now he's my manager also. I don’t like to be surrounded by a group of people. I like to reach out, meet people, talk to them.I don’t want to become an insulated star cut off from reality &nbsp;because of one incident.” 
 
Vijay feels he is safe with his fans. “If you show love to people they will love you back. Anyway, we took that man to the police station and it was all sorted out. Nothing major.”

Two months after he went through a similar ordeal, Indian paracyclist Aditya Mehta &nbsp;faced humiliation again when he was left bleeding after being forced to remove his prosthetic limb as a part of a security check at the&nbsp;Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) in southern Indian city of Bengaluru, Indian news agency PTI reported.&nbsp;

Aditya was forced to remove his prosthetic limb on Monday and while hurriedly wearing it back to catch the flight he ended up hurting himself, &nbsp;according to the report.&nbsp;

&quot;They forced me to remove my limb. It took 45 minutes to wear it back. While I was wearing it inside the room, the officials asked me to come out quickly as the take-off time was nearing. In that tension, I started to push my stump very hard, and when I removed the limb in my house, I found I was bleeding,&quot; Mehta told the news agency on phone from Hyderabad.

He added saying that he was carrying an injury for the last 20 days and it would be difficult for him to remove the prosthetic limb and wear it again.&nbsp;

Mehta has also been quoted as saying in the report that he was asked by the Central Industrial Security Force official Thakur Das to get inside a room and remove his prosthetic limb. &quot;At the airport, the same person (Thakur Das), with whom I had an issue at the airport, was there and he asked me to get into a room and remove the limb,&quot; he said.

Mehta, however, pleaded with the official that if he removed his artificial limb it would take at least 45 minutes to wear it back and the flight is about to take-off in next 30 minutes.
