The police arrested Sararat and uncovered other similar deaths going back to 2015. One more person who was allegedly attacked by Sararat survived.&nbsp;

However, the relatives of the friend refused to accept she died of natural causes, and an autopsy found traces of cyanide in her body.&nbsp;

Police said Sararat, dubbed Am Cyanide by Thai media, had a gambling addiction and targeted friends she owed money to, then stole their jewellery and valuables.

Following this, Siripron collapsed and died after having a meal with Sararat, who did not make any effort to help her, according to the investigators.&nbsp;

The police further said that traces of cyanide were found in Siriporn's body, and her phone, money, and bags were missing when she was found.

The four-to-five-metre-long (13 to 16 ft) python coiled itself around her torso, squeezing her down to the floor to the kitchen.

She added, “I grabbed it by the head, but it wouldn’t release me. It only tightened.”

Thailand is set to link with the existing Laos-China rail network, a part of China’s Belt and Road Initiative.&nbsp;

The connection, upon commencement, will make it possible to travel by train from Bangkok to China’s capital via stops in Laos’ Vientiane and the southern Chinese city of Kunming, where there is a separate semi-high-speed service to Beijing.&nbsp;

In light of the area’s mountainous terrain which adds to the distance, the roughly 2,000-mile (3,218-kilometer) journey will take almost a full day, as against the ballpark figure of five hours for a non-stop flight.&nbsp;

As per a Nikkei report, the already operating high-speed train between China and Laos offers a route for Thai goods to be transported via rail to Kunming.

This rail route has helped reduce the delivery time to just 15 hours from the two days it takes for trucks to carry freight to China along the mountainous route.

Passengers on the flight later described the horrifying ordeal to news agency Reuters.

Dzafran Azmir, a 28-year-old student passenger, said: "Suddenly the aircraft starts tilting up and there was shaking so I started bracing for what was happening, and very suddenly there was a very dramatic drop so everyone seated and not wearing seatbelt was launched immediately into the ceiling."

“Some people hit their heads on the baggage cabins overhead and dented it, they hit the places where lights and masks are and broke straight through it,” he said.

Initially, the aircraft was requested to land in Pakistan. However, the request was denied for undisclosed reasons. Subsequently, the flight landed at the Delhi airport and the German man was handed over to airport security. While the cause of the fight is unknown, aviation security at the Delhi airport confirmed that the flight had to be diverted due to an argument between the husband and wife. According to a report by the Economic Times, the wife complained about her husband's behaviour to the pilot because she felt "threatened" by it. According to the National police chief Torsak Sukvimol, the suspect is 14 years old and has been receiving psychiatric treatment. Sukvimol further noted that he had skipped his prescribed medicine on the day of the incident.&nbsp;

Thai emergency services revised&nbsp;an earlier toll, stating that two people were killed during a shooting incident at a luxury shopping mall in Bangkok on Tuesday (Oct 3). An&nbsp;emergency medical service said that&nbsp;six people were wounded.&nbsp;

Thai police said that they have arrested a 14-year-old boy. The Metropolitan Investigation Bureau of the Royal Thai Police announced the arrest on its official Facebook page.&nbsp;

Images and videos from the scene started circulating on social media forums, which showed people running from the Siam Paragon mall, one of Bangkok's top shopping destinations.&nbsp;

Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin confirmed that the attacker had been apprehended and the situation brought under control. He told reporters: "Police are clearing the scene. The situation is easing."&nbsp;

In a message sent to reporters, Yuthana Srettanan, the director of the Erawan Emergency Center, earlier said three people were killed and four wounded in the incident.&nbsp;

In social media videos, dozens of police vehicles and a number of ambulances could be seen outside one of the shopping centre's main entrances.&nbsp;

Addressing a press conference, Bangkok governor Chadchart Sittipan said that the debris at the accident site was being removed after authorities confirmed that no one else was trapped. Sittipan added that it could take several days for the rubble to be cleared. Inspecting the site, the governor further said the accident should not have happened. “Someone needs to be responsible for this because someone died...this wasn’t something unpreventable,” he added. As per the Office of the Official Information Commission, the construction project (of the elevated road) was commissioned by authorities to Construction and Npa Construction. Further details are awaited. In May, a construction worker was killed and, five others were injured after a floor in a riverside condominium building in Bangkok’s Bang Sue district collapsed, a report by Thai PBS World said. And in February, three workers were killed when a scaffold collapsed at a construction site of a hotel in the Khlong Toei district, the Italian Thai Development (ITD), which is responsible for the project, said.
