<p dir="ltr">Indian Ambassador to the United Nations, Ruchira Kamboj, has called for a "major course correction" in the functioning of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), stating that "India, the world's largest democracy, along with entire continents of Africa and Latin America, are being kept out of global decision-making."</p>

<p>Speaking at a UNSC meeting organised by Russia on the topic of "Effective Multilateralism through the Defense of the Principles of the UN Charter," Kamboj emphasised the need to reform the UNSC and widen its representation to more developing countries for its effectiveness and credibility.</p>

<p>"Our starting premise has to be widening the representation of this core institution, the Security Council, to more developing countries for its effectiveness and credibility," said Kamboj. "If we continue to perpetuate the 1945 anachronistic mindset, we will continue to lose the faith our people have in the United Nations."</p>

<p>Kamboj questioned the effectiveness of practising "effective multilateralism" by defending a Charter that makes "five nations more equal than others and provides each of those five the power to ignore the collective will of the remaining 188 member states". China, Russia, UK, France, and the US are the five permanent members of the UNSC and can veto any issue.</p>

<p>"Can we practise 'multilateralism effectively' in the 21st century through a body that celebrates the principle 'to the victor belong the spoils' privileged more than three generations ago?" asked Kamboj. Last September, at the annual UNGA session, 70 world leaders called for the reforms of the UN.&nbsp;</p>

<p>A 24-year-old Indian student, who was studying B.SC, committed suicide by bursting a firecracker inside his mouth on Sunday.</p>

<p>The deceased boy, who was identified as Brajesh Prajapati from Sheopur, Madhya Pradesh, decided to take his life after his family informed him that they won't be able to send him to any big or metropolitan city for pursuing studying higher studies because of their bad financial conditions,</p>

<p>“Deceased Prajapati took the extreme step as he was tense over some issues,” said a police official who was quoted as saying by the Indian news agency PTI.</p>

<p>"Prajapati burst a 'sutli' bomb cracker in his mouth when he was in the toilet at around 9 am. After hearing the sound, his family members rushed in. They shifted him to a hospital, where doctors declared him dead," the police official added.</p>

<p>The police registered a case of suicide and further investigation into the incident is being carried out. The student's elder brother Hridyesh said that his brother scored good marks in exams and was completing a B.SC course from a local college.</p>

<p>The police officials said that due to the bursting of a sutli bomb or hydro-bomb inside his mouth, his face was extensively damaged which lead to his death.</p>

<p>Recounting the horrific incident, the family members stated that they suddenly heard the sound of firecrackers bursting inside the household and hence, they rushed to the toilet.</p>

<p>When the door was broken with the help of neighbours, they discovered the lifeless body of the boy lying on the floor in a pool of blood and his face badly torn.</p>

<p>A matchbox and the remnants of the twine bomb were also found at the site of the incident. The gruesome sight left the family shocked and in disbelief.</p>

<p>The locals said that it was the family's financial constraints which prevented the boy from fulfilling his aspirations because of this his behaviour changed and he decided to end his life.</p>

<p>The district hospital's civil surgeon Dr Dilip Singh Sikarwar, who performed the postmortem, stated that due to the twine bomb's explosion in the boy's mouth, there was significant damage caused to his nose, jaw and surrounding bones, which led to his death.</p>

<p>When it was found out that 61 girls out of the 222 were malnourished in the school, AI-based equipment was installed to improve the nutrition level of tribal children at Todsa Ashram School of Etapalli village in Maharashtra's Gadchiroli city.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The initiative was taken by the administration under project Bhamragad and there are eight government schools part of it. So, the AI machine works on the basis of Image recognition. AI algorithms trained to recognize visual characteristics of food products, such as colour, texture, and shape, can detect the quality of the food.&nbsp;</p>

Just seconds after the machine captures a picture of the food plate, it makes an assessment whether the food quality is at par or not.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The machine does not require any human intervention and can be easily used by a person of any age without any difficulty.&nbsp;</p>

Meals are provided here thrice a day - breakfast, lunch and dinner. The quantity of the food is up to the mark, and we also follow the menu. So, we wanted to ascertain the cause,'' Shubham Gupta, Assistant Collector of Etapalli and Project Director of Integrated Tribal Development Project told ANI.</p>

<p>He said that he got connected with a startup through an NGO that created a device that could evaluate the quality of food being served to the students.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“I came in touch with an NGO that further connected me to a startup. We deployed here this machine designed by them… Through this machine, we have tried to implement improvement in not only the quantity but also the quality of food. Data collected here can be accessed by Headmaster and me. We have installed it in one of the 8 Ashram Schools so far," he said.</p>

<p>The foreign ministry of Saudi Arabia reported that around 150 people, including diplomats and officials from several countries, had been rescued from Sudan and landed in Jeddah. <p>The "safe arrival" of 91 Saudi citizens and about 66 citizens from 12 other nations, including India, was announced. <p>Last week, violence broke out in Sudan between troops loyal to army head Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and those of his deputy-turned-rival Mohamed Hamdan Daglo. Rapid Support Forces (RSF), a potent paramilitary group, are under Daglo's command.</p>

<p>Previously, Abdel Fattah al-Burhan said that he received calls from leaders of several countries to “facilitate and guarantee safety for evacuating citizens and diplomatic missions” adding that the evacuations are expected to begin “in the coming hours”.&nbsp;</p>
