Unlock 1.0: From salons to schools, what's reopening and what stays closed

As India ended lockdown 4.0, the central government has started the first phase of reopening of the economy. The lockdown has been extended till the end of June, but only for the containment zones. All the non-containment zones can restart their day-to-day functions, with some restrictions. Here's a look at what will be reopening, and what will remain closed.

Domestic travel allowed

Domestic travel, through air and train, is allowed. However, it is advised to book tickets online instead of queuing up on the ticket windows.

Weddings and funerals allowed

Weddings are allowed with a gathering capacity of 50 people, and funerals can have a gathering of 20 people only.

Schools remain closed

Online teachings will continue as schools and colleges will not reopen till July.

Delhi Metro not operational.

The Delhi Metro will not resume. However, people can use personal transport to move in non-containment zones.

Cinema halls

Cinema halls, theaters, amusement parks and other entertainment venues will not be allowed to reopen yet.

Places of worship reopen

All places of worship can reopen now in Unlock 1.0. However, all precautions of social distancing have to be followed.
