After a year-long delay, Tokyo Olympics 2020 has finally begun and people from every nook and cranny of the world are bursting with enthusiasm. Extending their support to team India, Bollywood celebrities took to  their social media handles to cheer the national team on. Find out who said what!

 

Kareena Kapoor Khan

Lending her support to team India, Kareena Kapoor Khan took to her Instagram handle and shared a video of the Indian athletes.

“To the largest-ever Indian contingent, wishing you all lots of luck! 🙏🏼🇮🇳#Olympics #Tokyo2020 #Cheer4India," she wrote.

Priyanka Chopra becomes chairperson of MAMI

Priyanka Chopra is now the new chairperson of the Mumbai Film Festival (MAMI), having replaced Deepika Padukone. 

The Mumbai Film Festival is said to take on a new format without a competitive international section this year. Usually slated for the month of October, this year too, MAMI will not go ahead with the month owing to the coronavirus outbreak. The film festival will be spread within a six-month-long series of events.

Indian actress Aditi Rao Hydari shared a picture of Indian athletes posing with the Olympics logo.

Akshay Kumar

Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar turned a cheerleader for Team India for Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Kumar was nominated by Union Minister for Information and Broadcast and Youth Affairs & Sports, Anurag Thakur, to cheer team India. ''We have to motivate our players. I am sure that with our encouragement and blessings, our players will make our country proud," Kumar said in a video.

Salman Khan

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan also joined in to encourage team India and shared a video of him, revealing that he is part of the campaign to support Indian players.

Salman captioned the post, "I join the campaign to support our Indian Olympic team … #Tokyo2020. I accept the challenge given by @kiren.rijiju #HumaraVictoryPunch.”
