Laurence Taylor, Deputy Assistant Commissioner at the Metropolitan Police, said that officers tried to ask the group to disperse in a calm manner.
The crowd did not listen to the police, resulting in 19 people being arrested, and a further ten being issued with a fixed penalty notice.
The protests took place in London's Hyde Park.
The protestors were standing against the way the UK government has handled the pandemic situation in the country.
