The war has not spared the kids as according to Ukraine’s General Prosecutors' office, 379 children were killed while 223 went missing.

The infrastructure in Ukraine has also taken a severe hit due to the Russian attacks and according to AP, 2,400 schools across the country were destroyed in the last six months.

However, the destruction was not able to stop around 51 per cent of Ukrainian schools from welcoming the kids back on the first day of the academic year.

In the areas of Ukraine that have come under heavy attack, students have been left with a poorer education system, according to a report by the Centre for Information Resilience, a London-based human rights organisation. (Text: The Guardian)
