Badrinath portals reopened on Friday morning. The temple is situated in Chamoli district of Garhwal Himalayas.

The temple reopened at 4:30am on Friday. It has not opened its doors for public yet. Only selected 11 people were allowed to enter the premises and be a part of the prayers. Social distancing was followed by everyone involved.

The first prayer at the dham was performed on behalf of Indian prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The temple was supposed to reopen on April 30. However, the date was changed after discussions with the Tehri royal family, who are the custodians of the Badrinath Temple.
