<p>He said personnel of the District Reserve Guard (DRG) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) launched the operation based on inputs about the presence of Maoists from the Konta and Kistaram area committees on forested hills of Korajguda, Dantespuram, Nagaram and Bhandarpadar villages.</p>

<p>Two of the deceased have been identified as Madkam Masa (42), a divisional committee member and military in-charge of the south Bastar division of Maoists, and Lakhma Madvi, an area committee member, the IG said, adding that they were carrying a bounty of Rs 8 lakh and Rs 5 lakh respectively.</p>

<p>The other deceased included Masa's wife Dudhi Huni (35), his guard Kowasi Kesa, Madkam Jitu and Madkam Kosi, he said, adding that the four were members of the PLGA platoon no 4 and carried a bounty of Rs 2 lakh each.</p>

<p>The official said the identity of the remaining four deceased cadres was yet to be ascertained.</p>

<p>After returning from the operation, the security personnel were seen celebrating and dancing to regional songs at their camp. Videos of their celebration have surfaced on social media.</p>

<p>Chief Minister Sai praised security forces and asserted that his government's priority is to establish peace, facilitate development and ensure the safety of citizens in the Bastar region.</p>

<p>Sai, in a statement, said the state government has been working on the policy of zero tolerance towards Naxalism.</p>

<p>"Ensuring development, peace and safety of citizens in Bastar is the top priority of the state government. The era of peace, development and progress has returned to Bastar," he said.</p>

<p>He congratulated the security forces for their indomitable courage and dedication and said the elimination of Naxalites from Chhattisgarh is certain.</p>

<p>"We are moving forward in a planned manner towards fulfilling the target set by Union Home Minister Amit Shah to eliminate Naxalites from Chhattisgarh by March 2026," he added.</p>

<p>With this incident, 207 Naxalites have been killed so far this year in separate encounters in the Bastar division comprising seven districts, including Sukma, Sundarraj said.</p>

India: 10 Maoists killed after encounter with security personnel in Chhattisgarh; AK-47 rifles recovered

<p>After nearly a week of severe and "severe-plus" air pollution, there was a brief improvement on Friday morning when the AQI dropped to 371, categorised as 'very poor.' However, this respite was short-lived as by evening, the pollution levels deteriorated again, with the AQI crossing 400.</p>

<p>For context, the AQI categories are defined as follows: 0-50 is "good," 51-100 is "satisfactory," 101-200 is "moderate," 201-300 is "poor," 301-400 is "very poor," and 401-500 is "severe."</p>

<h2><strong>Supreme Court raps Delhi govt over lapses in enforcement of GRAP-4</strong></h2>

<p>The Supreme Court addressed the pollution crisis on Friday and announced that it would decide on November 25 whether the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP)-4 restrictions in Delhi should be eased.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Justices Abhay S Oka and Augustine George Masih expressed dissatisfaction with the enforcement of GRAP-4 measures, particularly regarding the entry of trucks carrying non-essential goods into Delhi.</p>

<p>The apex court also criticised the lack of checks at entry points to the city. It ordered the Delhi Police to set up check posts at all 113 entry points into the city to enforce the restrictions effectively.</p>

<p>The GRAP-IV guidelines prohibit the entry of BS-III petrol and BS-IV diesel vehicles into Delhi. This measure was implemented as air pollution reached the "severe plus" category earlier in the week.</p>

<p>It added, "As far as stopping entry of trucks and entry of vehicles registered outside Delhi is concerned, we are not satisfied. The (Delhi) government has not stated clearly as to at how many entry points, there are teams present to prevent the entry of vehicles."</p>

<p>It also said that personnel manning these points must be well-informed about the orders given by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP)-led government. "Personnel who monitor these points should be clearly told what the accepted items are mentioned in the order issued by the government of Delhi. Parvathy, who made headlines last year for calling out misogyny in Malayalam headlines, has been conferred with the Best Actress award at the Kerala Film State Awards. The official announcements were made on Thursday afternoon at a press conference in Thiruvananthapuram. Minister A K Balan addressed the media gathering and announced the winners. Malayalam actors Indrans won the best actor award for Aalorukkam and Parvathy, the best actress award for her film Take Off. Take Off, based on the ordeal of Indian nurses in the city of Tikrit, Iraq, in 2014 also won best Background score. Best film award went to Ottamuri Velicham and Aedan. Lijo Jose Pallisery won Best Director award for E Ma You. <p>A Noida-based man’s video of making teddy bears from burnt cigarette butts has been garnering views and opinions on social media.</p>

<p>In a video, shared on Instagram, a man named Naman Gupta shows a unique way towards dealing with pollution. Some Instagram users liked the idea while others expressed concerns about the toy being harmful for kids.</p>

<p>The video is posted on the Instagram page 60 Second Docs with the caption, “Most parents would say cigarettes are not toys, but Naman Gupta from Noida, India has found a sustainable way to recycle cigarette butt litter… into stuffed animals.”</p>

They have also participated in joint exercises such as Exercise Sangam with the U.S. Navy SEALs and multilateral drills like RIMPAC.</p>

<p>MARCOS was modelled after the United States Navy SEALs and the United Kingdom’s Special Boat Service (SBS).&nbsp;The force has evolved from a focus on amphibious warfare and counterterrorism to tackle a wide range of threats, including piracy, insurgency, and grey-zone operations, that increasingly define the Indo-Pacific. MARCOS operators undergo rigorous training that is designed to push physical &amp; psychological limits.&nbsp;The journey begins with a seven-day aptitude test, where only 15–20% of candidates succeed. This is followed by a gruelling two-week screening at the Naval Special Warfare Training and Tactical Centre (NSWTTC) in Goa. Ultimately, just 10–15 candidates remain to complete the full training cycle.</p>

<p>Training includes a diverse range of skills, including underwater demolitions, combat diving, sniping, and combat free-fall. They also specialise in amphibious operations, high-altitude warfare, and security of offshore assets. The preparation ensures MARCOS operators are among the most versatile special forces in the world, from deep-sea insertions to urban counterterrorism. A unique and key moment in their training is the oath-taking ceremony, where commandos pledge to serve their nation with a symbolic cut on their thumb using their commando dagger.</p>

<p>MARCOS force is increasingly becoming a cornerstone of India’s naval diplomacy.&nbsp;The deployments demonstrate India’s capacity to project power and contribute to regional stability, aligning operations with foreign policy objectives. <p>The CPCB said Monday's reading was the second-worst air quality recorded since AQI tracking began in 2015.</p>

He claimed "credible information" was shared with intelligence partners, including the US. India has repeatedly denied these accusations.</p>

<p>Tensions between India and Canada reached a breaking point on October 14 when the Canadian government labelled Indian diplomats, including the High Commissioner, as "persons of interest" in the investigation into Nijjar’s murder. Solar lighting for about 30,000 indigenous communities has been provided to 30,000 households. And we have so far had 800 ITEC alumni from Guyana who have studied in India. We hope to partner with them in several fields, including in hydrocarbons, but also areas of healthcare, education and defence."</p>

President Irfaan Ali himself was a chief guest at Pravasi Bharatiya Divas in January 2023". He added, "We have had a longstanding developmental partnership with Guyana, and this is in the fields of health, connectivity, and renewable power. The Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE) built an ocean-going ferry, which we supplied to Guyana last year. We also supplied two HAL 228 aircraft under a line of credit to Guyana this year. Solar lighting for about 30,000 indigenous communities has been provided to 30,000 households. And we have so far had 800 ITEC alumni from Guyana who have studied in India. We hope to partner with them in several fields, including in hydrocarbons, but also areas of healthcare, education and defence."
