"If a trial is not going on after a certain period then... the jail officer will have to present the bail process in&nbsp;the court," he said.

Amid deteriorating air quality in the national capital, Environment Minister Gopal Rai announced on Wednesday that 50 per cent of the state government&nbsp;employees would work from home.&nbsp;

The announcement came as Delhi’s average air quality index (AQI) continued to be in the “severe” category on Wednesday (Nov 20). Wednesday was the third consecutive day when the AQI of Delhi-NCR stood in the “severe” zone.&nbsp;

While Delhi's average AQI stood at 423 at 7:00 a.m., Mundka was the most polluted area in the city (464), followed by Wazirpur and Alipur (462). The visibility at IGI Airport was 800 metres at7:00 a.m.

DCP Shahdara, Prashant Gautam, said, "The fraud was carried out through online stock trading scams orchestrated via WhatsApp groups, targeting individuals. Further investigation revealed that Fang Chenjin is linked to two other significant fraud cases involving cybercrime and money laundering in Andhra Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh."

He further said that there are also 17 criminal complaints registered with the Cyber Crime Portal, all linked to the same Fincare Bank account, with the total amount defrauded exceeding Rs. 100 crore.

A complaint was lodged by Suresh Kolichiyil Achuthan on July 24 at the Cyber Crime Portal wherein the complainant reported that he was lured into fraudulent stock market training sessions and subsequently tricked into investing Rs. 43.5 lakh&nbsp;in several transactions. These investments were directed to multiple bank accounts controlled by the fraudsters.

During the investigation, details of bank accounts in which the cheated amount had been transferred were obtained, and call details of the suspect mobile number were analysed. A thorough investigation was conducted in terms of bank accounts and mobile numbers connected to all the suspects. Technical analysis and sincere efforts of the team led to the link connected to fraud.

The team worked meticulously and traced the funds to a bank account in the name of Maha Laxmi Traders,&nbsp;Mundka, Delhi. This account was found to be linked to fraudulent transactions, with one transfer of Rs. 1.25 lakh&nbsp;being made on April 24.

Further inquiry led the team to a mobile phone&nbsp;which led the team to Fang Chenjin. Fang Chenjin, a Chinese national residing at Safdarjung Enclave, Delhi, was arrested after evidence, including a mobile phone and WhatsApp chat logs, were recovered from his possession. The WhatsApp conversations between him and an associate clearly showed that he was directing the fraudulent activities, including the recharge of the mobile number used in the scam.

"Layers of smog have covered North India. Artificial rain is the only solution to get rid of smog. This is a medical emergency," Rai said.

Rai added that PM Modi must also intervene to tackle the crisis, and doing so was his “moral responsibility.”

They say that there is an urgent need for regulations to safeguard the interests of the digital news industry and help it survive. The media industry says that these companies profit from the content produced by Indian news organisations. However, they are not compensated adequately for their efforts. This has led to a question mark on the very existence of digital news media in India.

Right now, they are at the mercy of these companies who dictate their terms irrespective of the problems facing the industry. There is a lack of transparency and no room for negotiation or revenue-sharing. The Indian media industry is forced to toe the line without having their concerns heard.

The governments there are contemplating strict regulations and frameworks against these giants to ensure fair competition. The finance ministry is likely to seek approval of the federal cabinet in the coming months to dilute the stake in Central Bank of India, Indian Overseas Bank, UCO Bank, and Punjab and Sind Bank, the source said.

The Indian government owns more than 93 per cent in Central Bank of India, 96.4 per cent in Indian Overseas Bank, 95.4 per cent in UCO Bank and 98.3 per cent in Punjab and Sind Bank as of end-September, according to data on the BSE's website.

The NCP leader was coming back from a poll meeting when some people attacked his car.

The leader had ended his meeting in Narkhed village and was going to Katol through Tinkheda Bishnoor Road when he faced the attack near Belphata on Katol Jalalkheda Road in Katol Assembly Constituency.&nbsp;

In the images, Deshmukh appeared hurt and blood was dripping from his head. He was seated in the front passenger seat of the car when the attack took place.&nbsp;

In a video, stains of blood appeared all over his white kurta. He was rushed to Alexis Hospital in Nagpur where he is being treated.

In the attack, the windshield of the vehicle was damaged, one of the car's windows got shattered and pieces of glass were strewn across the road as well as inside the vehicle.

<h2>Congress condemns 'fatal attack' on Deshmukh&nbsp;</h2>

"An investigation has begun. Police are trying to identify those responsible for the attack," said Nagpur Rural Superintendent of Police, Harssh Poddar, while speaking to news agency PTI.

Congress leader Balasaheb Thorat condemned the "fatal attack" on the NCP leader.

"It is clear that there is no rule of law in the state from the fact that a former home minister was assaulted in Nagpur district. The police administration should immediately arrest the attackers," he wrote on X.
