A tragic and bizarre incident occurred when a monkey jumped upon a car and broke through its sunroof in Varanasi city in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh.

The monkey lept on the parked car's rooftop, and at that moment the sunroof shattered.

The mammal landed straight into the car's backseatbut within seconds, he jumped out of the vehiclethrough the broken sunroof and then crossed the road very casually.

The incident took place on Tuesday (November 19) and went viral on the social media platform X. As per the media reports, the video emerged from the Visheshwarganj area in Varanasi.

The viral video left social media users in splits. Some of the netizens expressed concern for the monkey involved in the incident, while others wondered about the financial damage the car owner suffered.

An X user asked if the monkey was fine after the incident, on which the other shared a GIF of a monkey and said, “Now the monkey is seeing his video.”

One user said that he was asking a “genuine question" which was if this damage gets covered under insurance.

“How will the car owner explain the incident to an insurance company?” wrote another user.

“That's the reason I never asked my father to buy a car. No car, no damage,” commented another user.
