Lamichhane, who was recently acquitted of rape charges in his homeland was included&nbsp;in the T20 World Cup squad. However, the player’s controversial background and legal battles in the court formed the basis for Lamichhane’s visa denial by the US authorities.</p>

<p>On Thursday (May 30) US embassy in Nepal denied Lamichhane&nbsp;visa despite the government trying its best through different agencies. Chhumbi Lama, central committee member of the Cricket Association of Nepal, said their subsequent bid to push for a US visa had failed.</p>

<p>"There is a slim -- or no chance -- for him to be involved in the World Cup," Lama told AFP.</p>

<p>"The Cricket Association of Nepal had lobbied to the US embassy through different Nepal government agencies, but the visa was denied."</p>

<p>The decision comes as a huge setback for Nepal as they were competing in their maiden Major ICC event. Lamichhane last week admitted that it was “unfortunate” not to receive the US visa. The 23-year-old in his short cricket career was a sensation and played franchise cricket in the Big Bash League (BBL) and the Pakistan Super League (PSL).</p>

<p>His exploits also saw him earn a place in the Indian Premier League (IPL) where he played for Delhi Capitals. However, the player was charged for raping a young woman in a Kathmandu hotel in 2022.</p>

"When you've got a game and a crowd as big as this, everything is credible. We will go through every fine detail when it comes to the security and safety of the residents here in Nassau County. I can guarantee you this is the largest security we've ever had to do in this county's history, and I can also guarantee you the safest place to be in Nassau County on June 9 will be inside that stadium," Ryder mentioned.</p>

<p>Rana was fined&nbsp;60 per cent of his match fees after he celebrated overenthusiastically during his side's close victory against Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Eden Gardens.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Rana was found in breach of the IPL Code of Conduct for his actions. He committed&nbsp;two Level 1 offences under Article 2.4. He was fined 10 per cent and 50 per cent of his match fees for the two respective offences.</p>

<p>Notably, it was the same case last year when BCCI was looking for Rahul Dravid's replacement before giving him an extension. The officials of the richest cricket board in the world said using Google Forms allowed for easy scrutiny of the applications but it also came with its own set of challenges.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

<p>Dravid's contract as the head coach of the men's senior national team expires after the T20 World Cup and the former Indian captain is not looking to extend his tenure this time.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In the job application,&nbsp;BCCI stipulated that the candidate should be below 60 years of age and must have played a minimum of 30 Tests or 50 ODIs. It added that the applicant should have performed a similar role as a full member of Test nation for a minimum of two years.</p>

<p>"The selection process will include a thorough review of applications, followed by personal interviews and assessments of shortlisted candidates," the job description added.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Jay Shah, the BCCI secretary, has made it clear that there will be no split coaching duties - meaning any former player who takes up the job, will have to be on the road for 10 months a year.&nbsp;</p>

<p>"We are looking for a long-term coach for three years. There is no precedent of different coaches for different formats in Indian cricket. Besides, we have a number of all-format players. Ultimately, it will be the Cricket Advisory Committee's (CAC) call. I have to implement what they decide," said Shah.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Currently, former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir and Chennai Super Kings head coach Stephen Fleming are being touted as the favourites to take over the job.&nbsp;</p>
