Needing a win to progress ahead, the Afghans put on a show and edged past the Bangla Tigers at the&nbsp;Arnos Vale Ground, Kingstown, St Vincent on Monday (June 24, local time) to eliminate Australia from the semifinal race. Australia were dependent on Bangladesh's win, after losing to India by 24 runs, to enter the last four, however, Rashid Khan &amp; Co.'s brilliant display led to their ouster.

Talking about the Afghanistan-Bangladesh clash, the former opted to bat first and rode on opener Rahmatullah Gurbaz's 43 to post a paltry 115/5. In reply, the Bangla Tigers' run-chase was disrupted by constant rain breaks as the target was revised to 114 in 19 overs.

Eventually, Rashid and Naveen-ul-Haq's four wickets apiece dismantled Bangladesh&nbsp;for 105 in 17.5 overs. After Gulbadin's antics, Indian cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin took to X (formerly Twitter) and reacted to the incident by hilariously calling for a 'red card' for the Afghan pacer. A red card is often dished out in football when a player engages in a simulation and is ordered by the referee to walk out of the pitch.&nbsp;

Thousands of Afghan&nbsp;fans stormed the streets of major cities in the country after the national side secured a historic spot in the semifinals of the ongoing T20 World Cup in the US and Caribbean.&nbsp;

Led by Rashid Khan, Afghanistan beat Bangladesh by eight runs to not only qualify for the top-4 but also knock out mighty Australians from the tournament.&nbsp;From Kandahar to Khost to Kabul, Afghans had another reason to go ballistic, days after celebrating Eid.&nbsp;

Batting first on a tacky wicket, Afghanistan only posted 115&nbsp;runs after some disciplined bowling effort from Bangladesh.&nbsp;The Afghan side may not even have crossed 100 if it wasn't for the late cameo of their captain who smashed 19 runs in 10 balls.
