<p>"Our findings further suggest that hominins not only evolved in western and central Europe but spent over five million years evolving there and spreading to the eastern Mediterranean before eventually dispersing into Africa, probably as a consequence of changing environments and diminishing forests," said Professor David Begun, a paleoanthropologist from the University of Toronto and co-senior author of the study.</p>

<p>Indian space agency ISRO said Monday (Sept. 4) that its Vikram lander exceeded its mission objectives and landed a second time on the lunar surface, as part of a 'hop experiment.'&nbsp;</p>

<p>Earlier, ISRO informed on X that its Pragyar rover has been put to sleep ahead of the harsh lunar night that lasts for a fortnight.&nbsp;“Chandrayaan-3 Mission: The Rover completed its assignments. It is now safely parked and set into Sleep mode. APXS and LIBS payloads are turned off. Data from these payloads is transmitted to the Earth via the Lander,” the space agency posted on X.</p>

<p>ISRO’s next focus is to revive the mission once the next lunar day begins on September 22. Its battery is fully charged and its solar panels are aligned in a way to help it receive solar light.</p>

<p>“There was talk last year of a deal by last Diwali, but that was only going to happen if it was a shallow deal based around a limited number of goods. Joe Biden ‘disappointed’ as China’s Xi skips G20 summit. Here’s when they could meet next

<p>This Diwali, the largest Hindu temple in Germany is all set to be opened in the capital city of Berlin. Thanks to years of efforts of 70-year-old Vilwanathan Krishnamurthy, the construction project is now almost complete after starting about 20 years ago.</p>

<p>While the temple structure has been built, it still stands ‘without the gods,’ as Krishnamurthy plans a massive, six-day-long opening celebration in November. "We're waiting for the gods," he was quoted as saying by DW News.</p>

<p>Krishnamurthy came to Berlin almost 50 years ago and always dreamed of setting up a temple there for the community.</p>

<p>As he worked for the electrical company AEG, he founded an association to build the Sri-Ganesha Hindu Temple.&nbsp;</p>

<h2><strong>The construction part</strong></h2>

<p>How Vilwanathan Krishnamurthy toiled up a perilous path of 20 years to complete the project is a case study in itself. The journey began in 2004 when the temple association was established. Shortly after, the Berlin district authority allotted him the plot of land on the edge of Hasenheide Park, between the districts of Kreuzberg, Neukölln and Tempelhof.</p>

<p>Due to financial constraints, the construction work that was supposed to commence in 2007 could not start till 2010.</p>

<p>However, financial problems still loomed large. The construction would regularly stop due to four major problems—regulations, approval procedures, deadlines and financing plans.</p>

<p>"We have carried this through with our own donations. There was no support from the Berlin Senate, from the district authority or from the federal government. I can also understand that," Krishnamurthy said.</p>

<h2><strong>How young Indians rose to the occasion?</strong></h2>

<p>The donations went drastically up in recent years, thanks to the influx of young Indian techies in Berlin. The tallest building, meant for Amazon, is currently under construction in Berlin, and that is where the majority of Indian techies will be earning their living.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In an exclusive interview to PTI, PM Modi said Africa is "top priority" for India and that it works for the inclusion of those in global affairs who feel their voices are not being heard.</p>

<p>In the last few years, India has been positioning itself as a leading voice, flagging concerns, challenges and aspirations of the Global South or the developing nations, especially the African continent.</p>

<p>"I would like to draw your attention to the theme of our G20 presidency -- 'Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam -- One Earth, One Family, One Future'. It is not just a slogan but a comprehensive philosophy that is derived from our cultural ethos," Modi said during the wide-ranging interview at his Lok Kalyan Marg residence.</p>

<p>Weeks later, the proposal was formally included in the draft communique for the summit during the third G20 Sherpas meeting that took place in Karnataka's Hampi in July.</p>

<p>A final decision on the proposal would be taken at the G20 summit to be held in New Delhi on September 9 and 10. The African Union (AU) is an influential organisation comprising 55 member states that make up the countries of the African continent.</p>

<p>The prime minister also referred to India's hosting of the Voice of the Global South summit in January that was aimed at bringing to international stage the challenges facing the developing countries.</p>

<p>"Africa is a top priority for us even within the G20. One of the first things we did during our G20 Presidency was to hold the Voice of the Global South summit, which had enthusiastic participation from Africa," Modi said.</p>

<p>"We believe that no plan for the future of the planet can be successful without the representation and recognition of all voices," he said.</p>

<p>"There is a need to come out of a purely utilitarian world view and embrace a 'Sarva Jana Hitaaya, Sarva Jana Sukhaaya’ (for the welfare of all, for the happiness of all) model," he added.</p>

<p>The prime minister noted that India's affinity to Africa is natural as it has had millennia-old cultural and commerce ties with the region.</p>

<p>"When we say we see the world as a family, we truly mean it. Every country's voice matters, no matter the size, economy or region."</p>

<p>“In this, we are also inspired by the humane vision and ideals of Mahatma Gandhi, Dr Martin Luther King Jr, Nelson Mandela, and Kwame Nkrumah," he said.</p>

<p>The prime minister said the effort towards "greater inclusion" of the Global South, particularly Africa in global affairs has gained momentum and that India's G20 presidency has sowed the "seeds of confidence" in the countries of the so-called 'Third World'.</p>

<p>"They are gaining greater confidence to shape the direction of the world in the coming years on many issues such as climate change and global institutional reforms. We will move faster towards a more representative and inclusive order where every voice is heard," he said.</p>

<p>"Further, all this will happen with the cooperation of the developed countries, because today, they are acknowledging the potential of the Global South more than ever before and recognising the aspirations of these countries as a force for the global good," he said.</p>

<p>The G20 includes the world's 19 wealthiest countries and the European Union.</p>

<p>According to a Facebook post by Minister Shanmugam, Yang had accused him and Balakrishnan of "acting corruptly and for personal gain by having Singapore Land Authority (SLA) give us preferential treatment by illegally felling trees without approval, and also having SLA pay for renovations to 26 and 31 Ridout Road".</p>

<p>Later he added that the allegations levelled by Yang are totally false and fabricated.</p>

<p>Shanmugam also said that he rented the Ridout Road property to prepare for the sale of the family home, not profiting from the rental.</p>

<h2><strong>Investigation</strong></h2>

<p>An investigation took place following the accusations, which was led by the Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB). In its report, the CPIB later said there was no misconduct found related to the transactions.</p>
