IPL's core - the very essence of having a salary purse every year - is to ensure the overall quality of all eight franchises remains somewhere at the same level, regardless of an individual franchise's spending capacity. If two extra teams draw from the same pool of cricketers at the auction, can the quality be guaranteed," existing franchises asked as per the Times of India.</p>

<p>“By next spring, we will be coming up with a plan for spectators, including non-Japanese spectators,” he said. “It is impossible to set a 14-day quarantine period for foreign spectators, so tests before and upon arrival are needed.”</p>

<p>Japan has held several recent test events, including a four-nation gymnastics meet last weekend, in which spectators have been admitted, but these were limited to residents of Japan.</p>

<p>International Olympic Committee head Thomas Bach is due in Japan for a three-day visit next week, at which Muto said he expected details of coronavirus counter-measures would be ironed out.</p>

<p>A seventh championship would draw him level with Massa's erstwhile Ferrari team-mate Michael Schumacher for titles, but with the record for wins, poles and podiums, as well as consecutive points finishes, he will in many eyes already be the "greatest of all time".</p>

<p>Brazilian Massa, who himself missed out on a title triumph when Hamilton claimed his first in Sao Paulo in 2008, has no doubt that the Englishman, whose contract expires later this year, will deserve that soubriquet and a salary to match it.</p>

Virat Kohli-led Team India along with Australian superstars such as David Warner, Steve Smith, Pat Cummins among others arrived late in the afternoon and were taken to the Sydney Olympic Park.</p>

<p>The New South Wales government has allowed the Indian team to train during the two-week quarantine phase and their session will be conducted at the Blacktown International Sports Park.</p>

<p>Liverpool defender Joe Gomez has suffered a serious knee injury during a training session with England national team as the youngster twisted his knee. Liverpool, who are already facing headaches due to injuries to a few key players, are hopeful that Gomez will be able to play some football again before the end of the ongoing 2020-21 season.</p>

<p>Final plans for Gomez’s treatment and recovery are yet to be finalised after he twisted his knee during training – when no one was around him.</p>

<p>After being assessed by specialist doctors on Wednesday, Gomez was given some hope when he was told that his season is not entirely over.&nbsp;</p>

<p>It is still a massive blow to Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool, who have already lost Virgil Van Dijk after a knee injury, and are without the likes of Fabinho, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Thiago.</p>

While fans and formers cricketers took to social media platform to congratulate Sourav Ganguly-led BCCI for pulling off IPL 2020 amid COVID-19 pandemic, Team India head coach Ravi Shastri’s message grabbed the eyeballs after the final, where Mumbai Indians defeated Delhi Capitals by five wickets to lift the coveted trophy for the fifth time.</p>

<p>While Shastri mentioned almost everyone from the top brass of the BCCI in his tweet, he missed out BCCI president Ganguly, which irked a few fans on social media.</p>

<p>The IPL 2020 was earlier indefinitely postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak with the lucrative tournament missing the April-May window. However, the BCCI stepped in to make sure that IPL 2020 gets the September-November window and decided to shift the tournament to the UAE. BCCI came up with the SOPs and ensured the smooth flow of all the logistics including the bio-secure bubble arrangements in the UAE.</p>

<p>Sourav Ganguly, speaking to India Today, had said: "The world needed sport, the world needed life to get back to normal. The entire BCCI team, not just the office-bearers, the employees and staff who work on the ground, they have been in Dubai for the last 2 and half months have pulled off a fantastic thing.</p>

<p>"And heartiest congratulations to all the players, each team for making this successful, without their discipline, this could not have been successful," Ganguly had said.<br />
