Storm brewing in Bay of Bengal, extremely heavy rainfall warning for Chennai

<p>After a massive search operation lasting nearly 40 days, the Indian Coast Guard(ICG) and Indian Navy have recovered the mortal remains of an ICG chopper pilot who went missing off Gujarat coast, after ditching the ill-fated ALH-Mk3&nbsp;helicopter at sea.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The ALH Mk3 helicopter bearing frame no. CG 863 had ditched at sea on 2nd September at 2315 hrs. The ICG helicopter had two Pilots and two Air Crew Divers. They were deployed on a Medical evacuation mission to provide succour to a seriously injured crew member from Motor Tanker Hari Leela.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In the immediate aftermath of the accident, ICG launched a massive search and rescue operation, during which one crew member was rescued at sea. Further, mortal remains of Commandant (JG) Vipin Babu and Karan Singh, Pradhan Navik were recovered at sea on 3rd September.&nbsp;</p>

After a massive search operation lasting nearly 40 days, the Indian Coast Guard(ICG) and Indian Navy have recovered the mortal remains of an ICG chopper pilot who went missing off Gujarat coast, after ditching the ill-fated ALH-Mk3 helicopter at sea. The ALH Mk3 helicopter bearing frame no. CG 863 had ditched at sea on 2nd September at 2315 hrs. The ICG helicopter had two Pilots and two Air Crew Divers. They were deployed on a Medical evacuation mission to provide succour to a seriously injured crew member from Motor Tanker Hari Leela. In the immediate aftermath of the accident, ICG launched a massive search and rescue operation, during which one crew member was rescued at sea. Further, mortal remains of Commandant (JG) Vipin Babu and Karan Singh, Pradhan Navik were recovered at sea on 3rd September. <p>Shringla was addressing the ninth convocation of the government-run Indian Maritime University (IMU) at its Headquarters in Chennai as the chief guest. The IMU is dedicated to providing education and training in various areas of maritime studies, including navigation, marine engineering, maritime law, and marine management.</p>

<p>The event marked the successful graduation of 1,974 students, which included four&nbsp;doctoral scholars (PhD) and one&nbsp;MS (by research) scholar. The convocation was presided over by Dr&nbsp;Malini V Shankar, IAS (Retd.), vice chancellor of IMU, who conferred degrees to the graduates and delivered the presidential address.</p>

<p>According to data from the Directorate General of Shipping, GOI, India is the third-largest provider of seafarers worldwide, following China and the Philippines. Indian seafarers constitute nearly 10 per cent&nbsp;of the global maritime workforce, Shringla stated.</p>

<p>What was supposed to be a memorable and cherished Air&nbsp;Show experience for lakhs of people at Chennai's iconic Marina Beach turned out to be a disaster due to the lax approach and blatant negligence of authorities under the Tamil Nadu government and the Indian Railways. While the Indian Air Force conducted a flawless and thoroughly professional Air Show, the events that took place before and after the event are what led to uncontrollable chaos. At the time of writing, five people had lost their lives and more than 90 had been hospitalised.&nbsp;</p>
