In a strange incident, a transatlantic Delta flight had to make an emergency landing in New York City with 281 passengers aboard after one of its passengers suffered multiple bouts of diarrhoea inflight, as per a viral post shared on X.

The data from&nbsp;Flightradar24 confirmed that the Airbus A330 was flying from Boston, Massachusetts, to Rome, Italy, on Friday (August 30) but it turned over while flying over the Atlantic Ocean about an hour after the take-off.

Then, the aircraft reportedly made an emergency landing at JFK, after which the airport officials shifted the passengers into another plane,&nbsp;according to Business Insider.

Since then, Delta Airlines' representatives have called the aeroplane an “accident” and stated, “Delta apologises to our customers for the delay in their travels from Boston to Rome on Friday night. We thank them for their patience as the aircraft diverted to New York-JFK before continuing to Rome early Saturday morning.”

The aeroplane, which had made an emergency landing, resumed service nearly 20 hours after the odiferous ordeal.

This is not the first time diarrhoea has led to the diversion of the Delta flight.&nbsp;

An infamous “brownout" incident happened in September, when a Delta flight from Atlanta to Barcelona&nbsp;had to make a U-turn and make an emergency landing after it was soiled by a flyer midflight.

“This is a biohazard issue,” said the pilot to air traffic control. “We’ve had a passenger who’s had diarrhea all the way through the aeroplane, so they want us to come back to Atlanta," he added.

In the video taken after the incident, a brown trail was seen running down the aeroplane aisle along with paper towels over the heavily soiled areas.

Russian President Vladimir Putin is one of the strongest political leaders in the world. However, his personal life has remained shrouded in mystery and not much is known about his family.

A Russian investigative journalism website's report has now made some startling claims, that Putin has two secret sons who are spending their luxurious life in a heavily guarded mansion, but in isolation.&nbsp;

The Dossier Centre claimed that the two sons - Ovan Putin and Vladimir Putin Jr. - have been living in their father’s vast mansion which is close to Lake Valdai.

The mother of the two boys is former Olympic rhythmic gymnast Alina Kabaeva whose relationship with Putin has been known in Russia, claimed the Dossier Centre.

As per the report, the two boys have governesses, nannies, teachers and officers from the Kremlin Federal Guard and they love playing with a huge Lego set. The boys also have an iPad each.

“They have to play mostly alone or with adults. They only see their parents late at night," said the report.

In the mansion, there are two ponies, rabbits, and a St Bernard dog which is looked after by Kremlin guards but stays with the family. The report also stated that the two children use Disney&nbsp;cartoon impressions to annoy Putin.

As per the report, Ivan was born at the Sant’Anna maternity clinic in the spring of 2015 in the Swiss city of Lugano and Vladimir Jr. was born in the spring of 2019 in Moscow.

Putin has never spoken directly about the boys. However, while addressing school children in Siberia, this week he said, “Members of my family, the little ones, speak Chinese.” It has also been reported that the kids are learning English and German.

However, there is no mention of Putin's sons in any government databases.&nbsp;

The top spy agency of China has warned the students, who have access to sensitive data, to remain careful of “handsome men and beautiful women” who may fake their feelings and get them involved in spying for foreign entities while compromising national security.

The Ministry of State Security of China on Wednesday (September 4) launched&nbsp;its public WeChat social media account, on&nbsp;which it warned the students, who it believes are likely to get manipulated in various ways and give some kind of sensitive information.

The ministry said that the state security departments have discovered evidence of personnel from intelligence organisations and those who are part of foreign espionage targeting young students, wooing them and getting access to sensitive data.

Chinese authorities have cracked down on things which appeared as threats to its national security and issued several warnings to its citizens. They have also made public the cases of spying that were uncovered by the government.

The agency has stated that those working for foreign intelligence agencies have been targeting those college students specifically who have access to classified and sensitive scientific research data.

These people have been approaching the students disguised as university scholars, employees of scientific research institutions and consulting companies, stated the agency.

These people have lured young students “with high-paying part-time opportunities in the name of market research, academic exchanges,” it further stated.

<h2>Daughter accuses the man of committing crimes just for 'pleasure'</h2>

In the book, Darian has written about one incident when her brother visited their parents for a meal and saw his mother almost falling asleep at the dinner table.

"Only a few minutes after sitting down, Maman was swaying in her chair as though she was drunk. Suddenly her whole body was drained of energy, like a rag doll," Darian quoted her brother as saying.

When the wife complained that she was facing gynaecological issues and contracted a sexually transmitted disease, Pelicot accused her of having an affair, the daughter wrote in the book.

Darian said that when Gisele raised her need to get treatment for the unexplained illness, her father asked, "So, what are you doing with your days?"

The record-breaking warming in the Antarctic stratosphere in the month of July disrupted the polar vortex and affected global weather patterns.&nbsp;

This event was a little different from the frequent warmings of the Arctic and is likely to have impacted the weather phenomena and ozone levels in the Southern Hemisphere.

The warming started in the stratosphere, nearly 30 kilometres above the continent’s icy surface, in July 2024.

In the month of July, the temperatures in the stratosphere above Antarctica remain around minus 80 degrees&nbsp;Celsius&nbsp;(minus 112 degrees&nbsp;Fahrenheit).&nbsp;

The scientists recorded 15°C temperature in the middle of the stratosphere on July 7, which set the record of the warmest July temperatures seen in the stratosphere in the Antarctic region.&nbsp;

On July 22, the temperature decreased only to rise to 17°C (31°F) on August 5.

<h2>Here's how stratospheric warming impacted the polar vortex</h2>

NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Centre's atmospheric scientists, Lawrence Coy and Paul Newman, were surprised to find this sudden stratospheric warming.

Coy and Newman worked on data assimilation and looked into the models&nbsp;of Earth’s atmosphere created for NASA’s Global Modeling and Assimilation Office (GMAO).&nbsp;

“The July event was the earliest stratospheric warming ever observed in GMAO’s entire 44-year record,” said Coy.

The scientists said that the westerly winds, which were present in this layer of the atmosphere, loop across the South Pole in winter and form what is called as the&nbsp;polar vortex.&nbsp;

However, this symmetric circumpolar flow was disrupted, which led to a weakening of the winds and the flow to alter its shape.

The polar vortex, instead of circulating the South Pole, turned elongated and the winds weakened, which caused considerable stratospheric warming over Antarctica.

The researchers have been investigating what was the origin of disturbances which led to the disruption of the stratosphere.&nbsp;

“Variations in sea surface temperatures and sea ice can perturb these large-scale weather systems in the troposphere that propagate upwards,” said Newman. “But the attribution of why these systems develop is really difficult to do," he added.

The first nuclear clock of the world is likely to start ticking soon after scientists at the JILA, a joint institute of the University of Colorado Boulder and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) successfully cracked the workings of all the components required to construct one.
&nbsp;
An atomic clock uses vibrations created from an atom to measure time and on the other hand, signals from the nucleus of an atom are used for timekeeping by a nuclear clock.

Currently, the most precise method for measuring time is in atomic clocks. These clocks co-ordinate international time zones and help in synchronising financial and internet transactions.&nbsp;

In day-to-day life, the precision of an&nbsp;atomic clock&nbsp;may not play a role, but it is used for things like global positioning systems (GPS), digital communication and internet speeds.&nbsp;

The nuclear clock is expected to measure time with much higher precision by using the energy jumps from the core of an atom.&nbsp;

“The nuclear clock’s energy level is closely coupled to strong forces in the nucleus, while atomic clocks mainly depend on electromagnetic forces,” said Chuankun Zhang, a physicist at JILA, while speaking to Interesting Engineering. “Thus, a nuclear-atomic clock comparison can provide sensitive tests for fundamental physics," he added.

<h2>Constructing the world's first nuclear clock</h2>

The nuclear clock has not been assembled yet by the researchers, but they have gathered all the components that are required to construct it.&nbsp;

“We managed to improve the accuracy of this measurement by a million times compared to previous measurements,” said Zhang.&nbsp;

“This allows us to resolve the quantum energy sublevels of this nuclear transition for the first time," he added.

Speaking about when the clock will be ready, he said, “We are working on improving the spectroscopy resolution further and evaluating systematic shifts of the transition so we can get better clock accuracy when we start operating it as a clock.”

“Essentially, we have all the parts for a nuclear clock already demonstrated in the lab. We have not used them for the actual clock operation, but there’s no technical difficulty in building one any day now,” he added.

“We can probe the nuclear transition in a solid-state system, which would allow us to build a much simpler clock than today’s atomic clocks without needing technologies like an ultrahigh vacuum, laser cooling, and trapping, etc.,” Zhang said.

Also Read: India's Chandrayaan-3 sends home lunar bonanza with magma theory evidence The nuclear clock is expected to measure time with much higher precision by using the energy jumps from the core of an atom. Constructing the world's first nuclear clock The nuclear clock has not been assembled yet by the researchers, but they have gathered all the components that are required to construct it. “We managed to improve the accuracy of this measurement by a million times compared to previous measurements,” said Zhang. “This allows us to resolve the quantum energy sublevels of this nuclear transition for the first time," he added. Watch: Chinese scientists develop smart fibre | How does it work? Speaking about when the clock will be ready, he said, “We are working on improving the spectroscopy resolution further and evaluating systematic shifts of the transition so we can get better clock accuracy when we start operating it as a clock.” “Essentially, we have all the parts for a nuclear clock already demonstrated in the lab. Humans have come under attack for the second time in a month by the uncontacted Peruvian Amazon tribe, who have used bows and arrows to kill at least two loggers.

The killing took place near the Pariamanu River in Madre de Dios province on August 29, however, the news was confirmed now by FENAMAD, which is a federation of tribes who live in the region.

On August 29, the women from the Mashco Piro tribe found a group of workers&nbsp;clearing the forest for the construction of the road.

In the confrontation, two loggers died because of ‘arrow impact’, and another person suffered injuries. Meanwhile, two workers are still missing.

Indigenous rights organisation, Survival International, has said that the tragic incident highlights the government's need to formally recognise and protect the Mashco Piro tribe's entire territory.

“This is a tragedy that was entirely avoidable. The Peruvian authorities have known for years that this area that they chose to sell off for logging was actually the Mashco Piro’s territory,” said Caroline Pearce, Survival International’s Director, in a&nbsp;statement.&nbsp;

“By facilitating the logging and destruction of this rainforest, they’re not only endangering the very survival of the Mashco Piro people, who are incredibly vulnerable to epidemics of disease brought in by outsiders, but they’ve knowingly put the lives of the logging workers in danger,” Pearce added.

<h2>What kind of threats are Mashco Piro tribes facing?</h2>

The&nbsp;Mashco Piro tribes are nomadic hunter-gatherers who have been staying in the rainforests of southeast Peru.&nbsp;

It has been estimated that they have 750 members and are one of the largest uncontacted tribes in the world.

Presently, the uncontacted tribe has been dubious of outsiders. This is because they were tortured by colonial rubber barons in the late 19th century in the western Amazon.&nbsp;

Thousands of people were enslaved and many others were hunted down, beaten, chained, robbed, raped, and murdered.

Presently, they are also facing the threat of logging and deforestation. It was recently revealed that the members of the Mashco Piro tribe have been living “dangerously close” to parts of the forest which are under the scrutiny of logging companies.

“The government must act now: it must cancel the logging concessions and recognize and protect the whole Mashco Piro territory. If it doesn’t, further tragedies are inevitable,” Pearce said.

Days after the Bayesian superyacht sank off the coast of Sicily, the autopsies of four of seven victims killed in the incident revealed that they died of "dry drowning" after getting trapped alive inside the cabins of the ship.

New York City lawyer Chris Morvillo, his wife Neda and Morgan Stanley Bank International chair Jonathan Bloomer and his wife Judy lost their lives because of “dry drowning”, as per the tests conducted in the last two days, reported Italian outlet&nbsp;la Repubblica.

In the autopsy, water was not found in the lungs, trachea or stomach of the four passengers who were aboard the ill-fated 185-foot sailboat, further revealing&nbsp;that none of them drowned in the&nbsp;seawater after the ship sank amid the August 19 storm.

<h2>'Death by confinement' and not 'sinking in sea'</h2>

The Palermo Institute of Forensic Medicine's pathologists found that the four victims died because of asphyxiation once there was depletion of oxygen in the cabin and the air bubble turned toxic because of carbon dioxide.

An Italian publication said that the cause of death was “death by confinement".

Later, the dead bodies of Morvillos, the Bloomers and yacht owner Mike Lynch were discovered inside a similar cabin room towards the left side of the hull.

The superyacht sank and sat on the ocean floor with a tilt towards its right side. This proves that the victims were probably awake and went inside the cabins with the hope of getting air pockets.

However, the air pockets turned toxic when the victims breathed all the oxygen and breathed out carbon dioxide.

As reported by a local outlet, the survivors - Lynch’s wife and Hanna’s mother, Angela Bacares - made attempts to warn those present below the deck of the ship but suffered injuries and were not able to reach the cabin.

More tests will be carried out to confirm that the four victims died by “dry drowning,” reported la Repubblica.

On Friday (September 6), the autopsy examinations of Lynch, Hannah and Thomas will be carried out.

The officials have not yet determined the cause of the ship’s capsize, although stormy weather can be a contributing factor.

The Bermuda Triangle is famous for mysteriously making anything that passes through it disappear.&nbsp;

But apart from that, Earth also has an ‘Alaska Triangle’ which is located close to the northern coastal city of Utqiagvik and has remained a mystery after the disappearance of more than 20,000 people.&nbsp;

Since the early 1970s, more than 20,000 people have mysteriously vanished in this vast triangle because of which the population in this location is sparse, reported IFL Science.

Statistically, Alaska has recorded double the national average of disappearance cases and an average of&nbsp;2,250 people have been vanishing&nbsp;every year.

Some of the famous people who went missing in this triangle included two politicians and US House Majority Leader Thomas Hale Boggs Sr and Alaska Congressman Nick Begich.

The two were flying along with Begich's aide Russell Brown and pilot Don Jonz in an aircraft from Anchorage to Juneau when suddenly it went missing on October 16, 1972.&nbsp;

Even after an extensive search, neither the bodies nor the plane were&nbsp;discovered.

However, the remains of some of those who went missing were later found.&nbsp;

Gary Frank Sotherden, 25, had disappeared while hunting in the remote area in the 1970s and after two decades, a human skull was found along the Porcupine River in northeastern Alaska.

In 2022, its DNA was tested and it was confirmed that the skull belonged to Sotherden who most probably was killed by a bear.

<h2>What leads to such disappearances in the Alaska Triangle?</h2>

Some of the theories have suggested that there is unusual magnetic activity in the Alaska Triangle or probably a lot of extraterrestrial aliens have been visiting the area.&nbsp;

A 1000-year-old Pictish ring was discovered by an amateur archaeologist on the last day of the dig.&nbsp;

University of Aberdeen's former engineer and graduate and volunteer John Ralph found the kite-shaped ring - which has a garnet or red glass centre - at Burghead Fort.&nbsp;

The area is famous as a former Pictish site but its historical value was lost after the construction of the town of Burghead in the 1800s which covered a major part of the fort.

Ralph, who calls himself an “enthusiastic amateur”, said that after finding the ring he failed to realise how valuable it was.

Speaking about the rare discovery, Ralph said, “My sister still lives in Burghead and it sounded interesting so I thought why not? I have now joined three different digs there, each for two weeks."

“I thoroughly enjoyed them all but my initial enthusiasm for finds was somewhat dented by my knack of getting excited about shiny pebbles," he added.

“I had found a few interesting items including bone pins and it was great being part of the team, which was the real draw. So, when I picked up a bit of earth from the final trench on the last day of excavations, I thought, ‘here we go again’. It was only when I showed it to the volunteer next to me and he got excited that I thought it might really be something," Ralph further stated.&nbsp;

Gordon Noble, professor of archaeology at the University of Aberdeen, who headed the excavation work which was funded by Historical Environment Scotland, called the discovery "truly remarkable".

“John was digging and then came over and said, ‘look what I’ve found’. What he handed over was incredible," the professor said.

“Even before the conservation work, we could see it was something really exciting as despite more than a thousand years in the ground we could see glints of the possible garnet setting," he added.
