The passengers said that the crew was able to change the movie and play a more family-friendly option after nearly an hour.

Acknowledging the incident, Qantas said that a technical malfunction occurred in the in-flight entertainment system because of which passengers were not able to select individual films.

As per the New York Post, the airline said that the crew members tried to resolve the issue and asked about the movie preferences of passengers, because of which the entire cabin ended up seeing Daddio.

The annual Draconid meteor shower has started to light up the night skies from October 6 and will remain visible till October 10.

However, this year the meteor shower is expected to be fainter in comparison to the past years, as experts suggest that the 2025 meteor shower will be the strongest one to have ever occurred in history.

The people in the United States will be able to see the Draconid meteor shower in areas with less or limited air pollution.

They will be able to catch the Draconids, which come from the dragon constellation Draco and is a well-known shower.

During the showers, the meteors are expected to be few and far from each other and they will reach their peak on October 7 and 8, when nearly 10 meteors will be visible every hour.

All about the Draconids

The Draconids are among the weaker showers, which fall at a speed of 21 kilometres per second.

Sometimes, it picks up the speed and moves at a speed of more than 1,000 meteors per hour.

It is expected that the dragon can turn very strong in 2025. But this will depend on ideal conditions like required aptitude for late nights, low light pollution and clear skies.

“The Draconids are what I call an all-or-nothing shower,” said Bill Cooke, who is the head of NASA’s Meteoroid Environment Office, while speaking to Smithsonian magazine.

“If there’s an outburst, it may be worth going out to see. But normal Draconid activity, they’re very faint, because they move so slowly. So, a normal Draconid year, you might see two to three meteors per hour, and that’s pretty much nothing,” he added.

The intensity will depend on the gravitational pull of the other planets, especially Jupiter, said Cooke.

The pull can affect the trajectory of the comet and bring it either more closer or farther away from Earth.

The constellation Draco, from which meteors fall, is easy to spot because of its proximity to the constellations Big Dipper and Little Dipper.

French astronomer Michel Giacobini first discovered the Draconids at the Nice University in France in 1900. It was then observed again by Ernst Zinner in 1913.

All about the Draconids The Draconids are among the weaker showers, which fall at a speed of 21 kilometres per second. Also Read: Icy visitor from Oort Cloud is becoming brighter. When to watch and how “If there’s an outburst, it may be worth going out to see. (With inputs from agencies)

Informing about the detention on X, Wangchuk wrote, "I AM BEING DETAINED... along with 150 padyatris at Delhi border by a police force of hundreds... some say 1,000. Many elderly men and women in their 80s and a few dozen Army veterans... Our fate is unknown." Speaking to WION, Wangchuk said that he and the protesters were "not at all" expecting such a welcome in the national capital amid their peaceful protest. He said this hunger strike "will continue" till their demands are met and added that all they want is to "resume the talks" with the government. He had ended his hunger strike at Rajghat on October 2 after he was assured that he would meet the country’s senior leaders to discuss the demands by October 4. However, after the officials failed to give any specific date to Wangchuk, he decided to again go on a fast.

In a new study, neuroscientists have found that the brain's same neurons get activated when they hear a person's name or pronouns like "he", "she" or "they".

According to scientists, there are these so-called concept cells that store information regarding the representations of people, objects or abstract concepts.

It was observed that concept cells get activated when the picture of someone specific is seen or when they hear or read the person's name or when they recall a specific person from the memory.

How was the study carried out?

The study was done on the basis of brain recordings taken from patients who suffered from intractable epilepsy. The electrodes were implanted deep inside their hippocampus to identify the origin of their seizures.

These implants also helped the scientists study how individual neurons in the hippocampus work during wakeful activity.

The participants of the study were given a picture of Shrek, and it was noticed that a particular neuron got activated on seeing the photo.

When the participant read the book "Shrek and Courtney Love", the same neuron got activated on the appearance of the name "Shrek" and the pronoun "he" which was used to refer to the central character in the later part of the book.

However, when the participants read the pronoun "she", the same neuron was not activated.

"We had the participants answer a question at the end of the sentences about who performed the action," stated neuroscientist Matthew Self, who is from the Netherlands Institute for Neuroscience.

"We could predict whether the patients would give the correct answer based on the activity of the individual concept cells," he further explained.

The volunteers were also made to read sentences in which two characters shared the same pronouns. In such cases, it was observed that the person who evoked the most activity was identified with the pronoun later.

"This could be based on chance fluctuations in activity on a trial-by-trial basis or an internal preference for one of the two characters in the sentence," Self said.

In the findings, it was observed that concept cells link the brain to the information of an already existing concept.

The largest lake in California, the Salton Sea, has a "white gold" mine, which is a treasure worth nearly $540 billion, at its bottom.

Scientists were studying the largest lake as part of research funded by the Department of Energy.
