In Germany, the font 'Fraktur' was used by Nazis and it was also part of a subset of “black letter” fonts which had a connection with the German folk styles of calligraphy.

The Fraktur font was used in Nazi propaganda and also in Adolf Hitler's Mein Kampf.&nbsp;

Managing editor of Fonts In Use typography archive Florian Hardwig said that the font was disavowed by the Nazis after rumours spread about it being created by a Jewish person.

Although it was out of style, it was popular as Nazi ideology's very evocative marker among the layman. This is why its presence on Musk's hat incited shock among many users.

US Elections 2024: Was Musk sporting a MAGA hat with ‘Nazi font’ at Trump rally?

The presidential elections of 2016 in the United States were said to have delivered the most shocking results in modern political history when Donald Trump defeated Hillary Clinton.

A Republican presidential candidate, Trump in the most unexpected turn became the fifth US presidential candidate who had won the Electoral College but lost the overall popular vote.&nbsp;

This happened because opponent Hillary Clinton clinched some major victories in heavily-populated states like New York and California and Trump had won four states with a margin of 1.2 percentage points or less.

Soon after the results were out, Trump took to the stage to give his victory speech. “I pledge to every citizen of our land that I will be president for all Americans. For those who have chosen not to support me in the past, of which there were a few people, I’m reaching out to you for your guidance and your help so we can work together and unify our great country," he said in a conciliatory tone.

The experts had earlier predicted that he wouldn't run for elections but Trump did. It was then believed he wouldn't climb in the elections, which he again did. His wins in primaries and clinching of the Republican nomination were also predicted wrongly and so was his victory.

<h2>Why did Hillary Clinton lose the 2016 elections?</h2>

According to experts, various reasons led to the defeat of Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton in 2016.

Hillary Clinton did have a major lead in the popular vote, however, the presidents were decided on the basis of the Electoral College which was in favour of Trump.

In the 2016 elections, the overall voter turnout was almost the same as that in the 2012 elections. 128.5 million voter turnout was recorded in 2016 and 129.2 million voter turnout in 2012.&nbsp;

As per experts, a major part of the voters were not happy with the choice of candidates which led to Trump coming to the helm of power.

Clinton was also criticised for not failing to fire up the Obama Coalition which may have pushed some more votes in her favour.

The main reason behind Trump's victory was said to be his flipping big margins with working-class and white voters in the Midwest and Pennsylvania.

The debate had turned so fierce that scientists devised theories on why different colours were seen by different people when presented with the image.

The British brand Roman Originals made the dress and it was black and blue. The dress has again gone viral after it resurfaced in a yard sale in Burlington, Vermont.

Woman discovers optical illusion dress at yard sale, goes viral on TikTok

In a chilling discovery, archaeologists have found grisly details of how people buried an elite female “vampire”&nbsp;some 350 years ago.

The grave of the “real-life vampire” was unearthed two years ago at a medieval graveyard in Pień, Poland.&nbsp;

The researchers have dubbed the "vampire" Zosia and in the new illustrations, the 18-year-old vampiress has been depicted as having fair skin, short hair, blue eyes and a single protruding incisor tooth.&nbsp;

Zosia had a silk cap on her head when she was laid to rest which showed that she was from a family of high social status.

However, she was accused of evil and hence her skeleton was only found with a sickle across her neck and a giant padlock on her toe amongst others in the grave site.&nbsp;

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Professor Dariusz Polinski,&nbsp;who had carried out the&nbsp;recent research on Zosia with study partner Magda Zagrodzka, said, “It can be assumed that for some reason those burying the woman were afraid that she would rise from the grave. Perhaps they feared she was a vampire.”

According to the experts, people used to fit the sickle and padlock to the corpse as a form of &nbsp;“double protection” because they feared that the “vampire” would rise from the grave. It was believed that the sickle would ensure the vampire got decapitated if she tried to rise from her grave.&nbsp;

“The sickle was not laid flat, but placed on the neck in such a way that if the deceased had tried to get up most likely the head would have been cut off or injured,” Polinski said.

The digital scan of Zosia’s skull was taken by a facial recognition expert and a copy was made using a 3D printer.

Medical investigator Dr. Heather Edgar examined the bone scans at the University of New Mexico and discovered an abnormality in the breast bone of Zosia, which suggested that she had a physical deformity which may have given her great pain.&nbsp;

<h2>'Field of Vampires'</h2>

The signs of restraint were found in 30 out of the 100 graves because of which the site was nicknamed as the “Field of Vampires.”

Polinski said that people had built the cemetery specifically for those who had been “excluded from the community;” however, they had left all the graves unmarked and no written records were available about the bodies.&nbsp;

The faces of some of these bodies were turned down and a few were weighed down with stones. In some bodies, coins were placed in their mouths.

“Ways to protect against the return of the dead include cutting off the head or legs, placing the deceased face down to bite into the ground, burning them, and smashing them with a stone,” said Polinski, speaking to the Daily Mail.

Since the sickle was placed over the neck of Zosia, she was said to be most feared by those who killed her.&nbsp;

According to a report published in Science Alert, by the 17th century “unusual burial practices became common across Poland in response to a reported outbreak of vampires".&nbsp;

Female 'vampire' padlocked inside grave with sickle at neck 350 years ago: Archaeologists

The oldest map of the world - which has been drawn on an almost 3,000-year-old clay tablet - has been deciphered by scientists who have found the location of 'Noah's Ark'.&nbsp;

The Babylonian artefact - called the Imago Mundi - had a circular diagram in which there was a writing system which used wedge-shaped symbols to describe the world's early creation.&nbsp;

The British Museum's researchers said that they deciphered the tablet last month, however, after a deeper analysis it was found that the ancient language had Biblical references.&nbsp;

At the back of the tablet is the description of what a traveller will see on their journey and one part of it says that they should go through "seven leagues... [to] see something that is thick as a parsiktu-vessel."

The word "parsiktu" has also been mentioned on other ancient Babylonian tablets for explaining the size of a boat which is required to survive the Great Flood.&nbsp;

The researchers looked into the instructions which mentioned a path to 'Urartu' where it was claimed in an ancient Mesopotamian poem that a man and his family had landed an ark to preserve life.

<h2>Here's what the&nbsp;Babylonian tablet depicts</h2>

"It shows that the story was the same, and of course, that one led to the other but also, that from the Babylonian point of view, this was a matter-of-fact thing. That if you did go on this journey you would see the remnants of this historic boat," said Dr. Irving Finkel, British Museum curator.&nbsp;

Mesopotamia is sitting at the bottom centre of the map and is enclosed by a circle which represents a "bitter river" which is believed to surround the entire world.&nbsp;

The tablet has been damaged but at one time it featured eight triangles which, as per the researchers, signified mountains which matched the descriptions on the back.

"Number four says 'To the fourth, to which you must travel seven leagues,'' said Dr Finkel, in a YouTube video.

He said that the passage shows how the traveller will eventually reach the giant vessel.

"This parsiktu measurement, is something to an Assyriologist which makes their ears prick and the fact is it's only once otherwise known from cuneiform tablets and it's rather an interesting cuneiform tablet too," Dr Finkel added.

"Because it is the description of the Ark which was built, theoretically, by the Babylonian version of Noah," he said.&nbsp;

Scientists find location of 'Noah's Ark' on 3,000-year-old Babylonian tablet map

The investigators have claimed that the dead body of the woman who gave up her life with the Sarco suicide pod was found with strangulation marks on her neck.&nbsp;

The 64-year-old woman from the United States died inside the capsule in Merishausen, Switzerland on September 23 after she decided to push a button which filled the sealed chamber with nitrogen gas and caused fatal hypoxia.

President of Swiss Sarco operator The Last Resort Dr Florian Willet was among the many people who were arrested over the death of the woman.

He is still in police custody almost five weeks after the death of the woman. Willet was the one who was only present when the woman died in the Sarco.&nbsp;

According to a report published in the Dutch newspaper&nbsp;de Volkskrant, the investigators have been looking into the chances of the woman getting killed as the chief prosecutor Peter Sticher raised the suspicion of "intentional homicide" and suggested to the court that the 64-year-old may have been strangled to death.

As per the forensic doctor, there were serious neck injuries on the woman.

<h2>Woman suffered severe pain because of 'skull base osteomyelitis'</h2>

It was reported that the woman suffered skull base osteomyelitis which had led to an infection of the bone marrow. According to a person close to The Last Resort, the infection may have appeared as marks on her neck which looked like strangulation marks.

The woman had been expressing her wish to die for "at least two years" after she suffered a "very serious illness that involves severe pain".&nbsp;

The woman had spoken about the severe headaches she suffered on some days because of which she was not even able to go to the bathroom.&nbsp;

Because of an immune disorder, the doctors were not able to treat the woman's osteomyelitis properly, according to The Last Resort.&nbsp;

The suicide pod's creator said that she got into the device&nbsp;and "almost immediately pressed the button" to die.

"It looked exactly as we expected it to look. My guess is that she lost consciousness within two minutes and that she died after five minutes," Dr Philip Nitschke, who is the inventor of the pod, said to the Dutch&nbsp;media.

"We saw sudden, small contractions and movements of the muscles in her arms, but she was probably already unconscious by then," he added.

Meanwhile, the sons of the woman have "completely agreed" that the woman had herself decided to die, as per Volksrant.&nbsp;

President of Swiss Sarco operator The Last Resort Dr Florian Willet was among the many people who were arrested over the death of the woman. He is still in police custody almost five weeks after the death of the woman. Willet was the one who was only present when the woman died in the Sarco. According to a report published in the Dutch newspaper de Volkskrant, the investigators have been looking into the chances of the woman getting killed as the chief prosecutor Peter Sticher raised the suspicion of "intentional homicide" and suggested to the court that the 64-year-old may have been strangled to death. As per the forensic doctor, there were serious neck injuries on the woman. Woman suffered severe pain because of 'skull base osteomyelitis' It was reported that the woman suffered skull base osteomyelitis which had led to an infection of the bone marrow. According to a person close to The Last Resort, the infection may have appeared as marks on her neck which looked like strangulation marks. The woman had been expressing her wish to die for "at least two years" after she suffered a "very serious illness that involves severe pain". Also Read: Israel: Nova festival survivor dies by suicide on 22nd birthday after battling PTSD The woman had spoken about the severe headaches she suffered on some days because of which she was not even able to go to the bathroom. Because of an immune disorder, the doctors were not able to treat the woman's osteomyelitis properly, according to The Last Resort. The suicide pod's creator said that she got into the device and "almost immediately pressed the button" to die. "It looked exactly as we expected it to look. My guess is that she lost consciousness within two minutes and that she died after five minutes," Dr Philip Nitschke, who is the inventor of the pod, said to the Dutch media. "We saw sudden, small contractions and movements of the muscles in her arms, but she was probably already unconscious by then," he added. Meanwhile, the sons of the woman have "completely agreed" that the woman had herself decided to die, as per Volksrant. A self-confessed smuggler narrated how he made more than 1,000 Vietnamese people enter the United Kingdom illegally and called this business "lucrative", while speaking to BBC.

The smuggler, who called himself Thanh, spoke about the ways in which criminal enterprises took advantage of migrants who wanted to cross the channel.

He said that Vietnamese travel a lot for work and because of lax EU work visa regulations, they now have a clear route to bring people to the UK from the Asian country.

In his interview with the BBC, Thanh said that he had appealed for asylum in Britain after he entered the country by crossing the channel on a small boat and paying double the amount which is paid by other migrants.

He said that he informed the UK authorities that he had been trafficked to increase the chances of asylum.

"That's the way it's done. [People lie] in order to continue the asylum process safely," he added.

Thanh said that when he was camping in a forest near Dunkirk, he first started to help people-smuggling gangs in exchange for £250 (approx. $324) for every successful trip.&nbsp;

He became famous among the gang of smugglers but he was caught and put behind bars in Europe.

After he was released, Thanh travelled to the UK and made efforts to leave behind the smuggling of people.

However, he said his reputation has forced him to make a living by forging documents for the new arrivals in the United Kingdom.

"People in Europe contacted me asking for help.&nbsp;I'd already helped about 1,000 people to get to the UK successfully, so I was well known for that success," Thanh said.

"I had a lot of clients. Depending on which embassy it was, we would provide forged bank statements or other documents. First, we would submit these online. If certain embassies needed to check with banks, then we'd put real cash into a bank account. We had arrangements with staff at certain banks," he added.&nbsp;

"The clients couldn't access the money themselves, but the bank staff would show the [falsified] details to embassy staff. We worked with lots of different types of Vietnamese banks," stated the smuggler.

Thanh said that he has now decided to speak about his criminal activities to make Vietnamese people understand that the journey to Europe is not worth it.

"I just want people in Vietnam to understand that it’s not worth borrowing lots of money to travel here. It’s not so easy for illegal arrivals to find work or make money. And when they do make money it’s less than in the past," he said.&nbsp;
