The study has found that adopting six behavioural changes by citizens in well-off nations may go a long way in arresting climate change. A new climate movement has also sprung up based on this.

The Jump, as the climate movement is called is asking those who sign up do these six things.&nbsp;

A court in Delhi on Monday (March 7) sent former managing director and chief executive officer of National Stock Exchange (NSE) Chitra Ramkrishna, to 7-day CBI custody. Ramkrishna has been arrested in India's National Stock Exchange co-location case.

After hearing arguments from Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), special judge Sanjeev Aggarwal passed the order.

The probe agency had sought her 14-day custodial interrogation.

The CBI arrested the accused on Sunday after her anticipatory bail application was dismissed by the court on Saturday.

In its application before the court, the CBI alleged that the electronic devices recovered are being analyzed and would be used for conducting further examination of Ramakrishna.

It alleged that she was evasive and has continuously misguided the Investigation Officer and gave wrong statements.

The CBI alleged that her custodial interrogation was needed to unearth the criminal conspiracy and the role of other NSE officials and brokers in the company.

"She is also required to be confronted with co-accused Anand Subramanian, who is already in police custody of CBI, to understand the magnitude and scope of the criminal conspiracy. She is also required to be confronted with digital evidence available on record," the agency told the court.

The CBI further submitted that the material already collected in the present case show that Ramkrishna in conspiracy with Subramanian had improperly hired him by coercing the HR department of NSE.

"Thereafter, she in conspiracy with Subramanian influenced the officials of NSE to facilitate him in having access to important decision making processes of the NSE. During the same period M/s OPG Securities was gaining undue advantages in NSE by logging into secondary server," it said.

The CBI said that during Ramkrishna's tenure as Joint MD, NSE, the co-location was conceptualized and implemented. 
Ramkrishna was appointed as MD and CEO of NSE on April 1, 2013.

"Investigation has revealed that during the period 2013-16 after accused Chitra Ramakrishna took over as MD &amp; CEO of NSE, OPG Securities Pvt Ltd was allowed to connect to secondary server of the COLO-TBT Dissemination server for over 300 trading days causing it undue gain," it said.

It is further submitted that OPG Securities Pvt Ltd was warned repeatedly in 2012 that accessing the secondary server is a violation of the rules/guidelines of the NSE, it said.

"NSE however stopped issuing such warnings to OPG Securities without any justifiable reasons during 2013 when Ramkrishna was MD &amp; CEO of NSE. Investigation has also revealed that Muralidharan Natarajan, the CTO of NSETECH (a subsiiary of NSE), was responsible for putting in place the co-location architecture at NSE. He was reporting to Ramakrishna," the agency told the court.

To add to the scare, chances of the asteroid hitting the Earth were found to increase as the days went by. It was given one of the highest ranks on Palermo Scale, a measure scientists use to assess impact risk. Full Moon meant the space rock could not be tracked for next one week.

But when astronomers were able to track it again, they gave a sigh of relief as the analysis of the whole data revealed that a direct hit with Earth was unlikely.

"In my almost ten years at ESA I've never seen such a risky object," said Marco Micheli, astronomer at ESA's Near-Earth Object Coordination Centre (NEOCC). He was quoted by ScienceAlert.

Delhi-born Nishant Batra is helping NASA set up cellular network on Moon

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said on Sunday that there were 'very credible reports' of civilians being targetted in ongoing conflict in Ukraine. He added that the US was documenting these reports

"We've seen very credible reports of deliberate attacks on civilians which would constitute a war crime," Blinken told CNN's "State of the Union" show. "We've seen very credible reports about the use of certain weapons," he said.

"What we're doing right now is documenting all of this, putting this all together, looking at it and making sure that as people and the appropriate organizations and institutions investigate whether war crimes have been or are being committed that we can support whatever they are doing," Blinken added.

Russia has denied allegations of attacking civilian areas and has termed Ukraine conflict "special military operation". Russia launched a full scale attack on Ukraine on February 24.

The US embassy in Ukraine on Friday sent a tweet that attacking a nuclear plant is a war crime after Russian invasion forces seized Europe's biggest nuclear power plant in heavy fighting in southeastern Ukraine, triggering global alarm.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Sunday (March 6) that Russia destroyed a civilian airport in Ukraine's Vinnytsia. He said that a barrage of Russian missiles has destroyed the airport.

"I have just been informed about a missile strike on Vinnytsia. Eight rockets... The airport was completely destroyed," he said. 
Several cities and airbases in Ukraine have been bombed, shelled or hit with ballistic missiles since Russia launched its 11-day-old invasion.

Very few refugees from the port city made it out on Saturday, but one family -- who did not give their names -- arrived in the central city of Dnipro and recounted their harrowing experience.

"We stayed in the basement for seven days with no heating, electricity or internet and ran out of food and water. We think we might be the only people to get out," one said.

"On the road, we saw there were bodies everywhere, Russians and Ukrainians. There was so much damage to the city. We saw that people had been buried in their basements."&nbsp;

As Russian missiles rain on Ukraine, there’s another battle brewing — in the cybersphere. Destructive malware has flooded hundreds of Ukrainian websites and computers since Vladimir Putin announced his invasion. It would be a mistake to assume such attacks will remain limited to Ukrainian targets.

Last week President Biden warned Mr. Putin against Russian cyberattacks on United States critical infrastructure. But American businesses aren’t ready for a war in cyberspace. Although Mr. Biden designated the Department of Homeland Security to lead what he vowed would be a forceful response to any such aggression, this isn’t enough. The D.H.S. doesn’t have the legal authority to order the private sector to follow its lead. More broadly, the federal government, even if warned by companies like Microsoft of incoming cyberattacks, doesn’t have the necessary infrastructure in place to protect American businesses from many of these attacks.

That the United States has to resort to threats of retaliation is itself a problem. America should already be cyberattack-proof, but coordinating these efforts across the country has been an uphill battle.

As the former general counsel of the National Security Agency, I witnessed daily the scope and sophistication of such maliciousness from Russia, China, Iran and North Korea. All of them leverage the various sectors of power at their disposal — including commercial and state-owned enterprises as well as spy agencies — to come out against US&nbsp;businesses and citizens in full force.

Yet the United States lacks an organized response. The weekly reports of ransomware attacks and data breaches make it clear that we’re losing this battle. That’s why America’s leaders must rethink the current cyberdefense system and rally around a centralized regulator to defend both citizens and the private sector against current and future attacks.

The decentralized nature of the American government does not lend itself to fighting foreign cyberthreats. Government agencies handle cyberregulation and threats in the sectors they oversee — an inefficient and ineffective way to address an issue that cuts across our entire economy. In just the past few months, the D.H.S.’s Transportation Security Agency announced new cybersecurity requirements for pipelines and railroads; the Federal Communications Commission put out its own proposal for telecommunication companies; the Securities and Exchange Commission voted on rules for investment advisers and funds; and the Federal Trade Commission threatened to legally pursue companies that fail to fix a newly detected software vulnerability found in many business applications. And on Capitol Hill, there are approximately 80 committees and subcommittees that claim jurisdiction over various aspects of cyberregulation.

These scattered efforts are unlikely to reduce, let alone stop, cybercrime.

Echoing a number of expert studies, our first national cyber director says that the United States needs a fresh approach that “meaningfully alters the relationship between public and private sectors.” But social and bureaucratic inertia, industry resistance and partisan divisions have stood in the way of centralizing cyberdefense efforts and regulations. At a recent congressional hearing, several industry representatives and Republican members of Congress objected to stricter requirements for notification of breaches. It’s time to move past partisanship and standard objections to regulation.

From a private-sector perspective, the case for a centralized effort makes sense as well. Almost every industry runs its computers on one of three operating systems: Windows, macOS and Linux. In many cases, they also use the same business software — a defense contractor’s payroll system isn’t much different from a pharmacy’s. That means vulnerabilities are similar across industries, and will therefore require similar solutions. A centralized government response center, then, makes sense. Getting information about hacks and vulnerabilities flowing quickly and effectively between the government and the private sector — as a central agency would — is essential to stopping cyberattacks before they spread too far. And such an agency would help standardize security products and services, which in turn would reduce the overall burden on businesses by lowering costs.

The overarching goal for a central cyberregulator would be to have standards uniformly applied, yet specifically tailored where necessary to the needs of a particular sector. I’m not envisioning a rigid one-size-fits-all policy, but it should be possible to design cross-industry regulation effective enough to safeguard the public without crimping innovation.

A number of other industrialized democracies are already adopting a centralized approach: With its recent Network and Information Security Directive, the European Union is now proposing uniform cybersecurity standards across industries and its 27 member nations. True, Americans tend to be more wary of regulation than Europeans are. But some of America’s closest allies — Britain, Canada and Australia — have also moved to consolidate their cybersecurity functions into one agency that works with the private sector, while retaining specialized functions for intelligence collection and law enforcement.

These moves shouldn’t be dismissed. While it is too early to fully assess the success of these new consolidating measures, the United States is clearly behind the curve: Britain has just adopted its second multiyear national cyberstrategy, while the United States struggles to come up with its first.

Blueprints already exist that could guide the creation of a central cyberregulator. The S.E.C. worked with investment banks and stock exchanges in its early years to fashion an entirely new disclosure framework for public companies in every industry. As a result, a public company’s prompt disclosure of market-moving news (good or bad) is now taken for granted — just as insider trading and covering up corporate developments were routine practices in the days before the securities laws.

Last month, the Environmental Protection Agency and its federal partners urged the nation’s 52,000 private and municipal water supply systems to bolster defenses against a potential Russian cyberattack that could disrupt or contaminate our drinking water. A central regulator would greatly simplify this process. It could ensure that the managers of each water system were fully aware of the critical details of a possible Russian attack. It could immediately disseminate critical information regarding the attack. And it could educate potential victims on how to minimize the spread of the attack.

None of this will be easy or put in place quickly. The Cyberspace Solarium Commission, established in 2019 to develop a bipartisan consensus on a strategic approach to defending the United States in cyberspace, recently reported that even some of its less extensive recommendations might require a “future emergency” to “create the political impetus needed to overcome existing barriers.”

Russia’s war on Ukraine might be that “future emergency.” If we don’t want to have to worry about Russian hackers contaminating our drinking water every time we turn on the faucet, now is the time to rethink our approach.

I’ve dealt with foreign cyberattacks. America isn’t ready for what’s coming

French President Emmanuel Macron made a fresh phone call to Russian President Vladimir Putin on Sunday (March 6) and both leaders spoke for 1 hour 45 minutes, said the Elysee.

A presidential official was quoted by AFP as saying that the call came at Macron's request. This is the fourth time leaders of both countries have spoken with each other since Russia's Ukrain invasion on February 24.

It came after a tense call on March 3 which the Elysee said had left Macron feeling "the worst is to come" in Ukraine with Putin intent on seizing "the whole" of the country.

Anything with Batman has never been straightforward. Be it in previous movies or in now-legendary 'Batman: The animated series'. There is a lot of psychology. Batman is no sunshine superhero like Superman and villains in Gotham City are complex. All of them have backstories, their reasons, their traumas. In recent movies, these villains have shown a certain affinity towards establishing an anarchic political system.

Riddler in 'The Batman' is a non-descript evil doer who sends Batman and Lieutenant Gordon (Jefferey Wright) on a wild goose chase. The Riddler kills and kills, all the while sending riddles Batman's way, many times mockingly.

Pattinson has underplayed Bruce Wayne. Christian Bale's Bruce Wayne, when not in batsuit, was still a winking millionaire surrounded by tittering ladies won over by his winning smile. Pattinson's portrayal makes Batty appear half nuts (which he truly is). 
 
For many, Pattinson is yet to show his full acting range. The Batman just maybe his first step in that direction. What helps him is the noir treatment. 
Another beneficiary of such an approach is Gotham City. It has been mentioned to be a corrupt cesspool of crime many times in the past but has almost always been shown to be a little New York-ey. 'The Batman' perhaps comes closest to depicting the city how it actually is, at least visually. There is always a pallor of depressing darkness in almost every frame. Mud puddles, rusty discarded cars along the streets are aplenty. Fruitless endeavours to 'beautify' shady corners with hopeful slogans create a sick environment. 
 
In Christopher Nolan's trilogy, Batman's actual fights with thugs are fleeting. They reinforce the idea that physical fight with Batman is a forgone conclusion. Batman does not NEED to show his chops just to prove to viewers that he is this superhero material. Everyone knows who will win in such an entry-level superhero function. But why the Nolan trilogy gained cult status is because it had a grand strategy that Batman always had to be against.

Pattinson's Batman continues being in these shoes. He is simply better than any human trying to pull some punches (in vain) at him. The fight scenes, though largely fleeting, have been shot brilliantly, especially the one in which Batman is only visible moment-after-moment in the light cast by bullets being fired at him.

The ever-dependable Alfred Pennyworth is portrayed by Andy Serkis. One does miss Michael Caine's masterful endearment here. Maybe Serkis's Alfred will take a bit getting used to. 
 
Zoe Kravitz's Catwoman is Not for your eyes only. The pretty lady gains your attention just enough before embarking on what is her own agenda throughout the film, a far cry from Halle Berry's 'little-too-sexualised' and more badass than Anne Hathaway's spunky one. 
 
Collin Farrell melds into the makeup of Penguin, the right-hand man of mobster Carmine Falcone.

A pleasant (and scary) surprise is Paul Dano's Riddler. The Bat-nemesis sounds ominously like Bane in initial scenes, but quickly takes a path of his own through the story. The final showdown between him and Pattinson is a sneak-peek into the Riddler's mind (A nicely written scene by the way). The elements of this bit make you remember Batman's such one-on-one with Joker and Ras-al-Ghul. (WHERE IS SHE!!) 
 
Ultimately, it is good that DC (finally) chose to do what it is good at. A brooding, dark superhero does not always mean you are alienating younger viewers. DC Comics have deep enough material to keep the studios from getting cold feet and to want to 'add humour' just to fight off Marvel. Suicide Squad remains a painful memory in this regard. 
 
At almost three hours, 'The Batman' is a long movie. But the slow burn never bores you or anyone in the movie hall. Pattinson has started coming of age and DC Universe has definitely managed to not shoot itself in the foot.
