Singh of Davinder Bambiha gang from Moga district was killed in Winnipeg, Canada. He was part of a pro-Khalistani organisation and was helping extremists in facilitating anti-India activities in Canada, according to Indian authorities.

Many media reports are comparing his death to the killing of terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar, who was also gunned down in a similar fashion in Surrey on June 18. Nijjar's death is currently at the heart of a diplomatic tussle between India and Canada, which accuses Indian government agents of being&nbsp;involved&nbsp;in the murder.

Notably, Singh was on the most wanted list of India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA).

<h2>Lawrence Bishnoi&nbsp;claims responsibility&nbsp;</h2>

The gang members of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi have claimed responsibility for the murder, citing revenge for the killings of&nbsp;gangsters Gurlal Brar and Vicky Middkhera.

The murders were planned by Sukhdool Singh even when he was staying abroad, the gang alleged. Describing Sukhdool Singh as a "drug addict", Lawrence Bishnoi's gang said that he destroyed the lives of many people and that he was ultimately "punished for his sins".

They further warned that their enemies would not survive in India or any other country for that matter.&nbsp;

Bishnoi is currently incarcerated in Ahmedabad on drug smuggling charges that are being investigated by the NIA. Bishnoi is also an accused in the murder case of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala.

According to sources, Sukha fled from India to Canada in 2017 using fake documents. There are more than 10 cases registered against him in Punjab.

Singh is among the 43 listed gangsters who have been involved in anti-India terrorism, according to the NIA. These gangsters left India on either Indian passports or through fake or forged travel documents or through the&nbsp;Nepal&nbsp;route in the past.

Leading the pack of countries giving shelter to these terrorists is Canada, which now accuses Indian government agents of killing Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF) terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar without providing any substantive proof.

Diplomatic tensions rose after Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, on Monday (September 18), accused the Indian government of being involved in the fatal shooting of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, who was one of the prominent secessionist faces to operate&nbsp;from Canada.

The two countries subsequently expelled one senior diplomat each.

On Wednesday, India issued a travel advisory for its citizens in Canada, a day after Ottawa updated its own advisory for India. India's advisory warned of growing anti-India activity and "politically condoned hate crimes."

The advisory urged Indian citizens in Canada and those planning to travel there to exercise caution.

Jose de Jesus Zalce Benitez, director of the Scientific Institute for Health of the Mexican Navy, said that the alleged bodies belonged to a single skeleton and were not assembled with animal or human bones.

He added that the laboratory tests have shown that “there is no evidence of any assembly or manipulation of the skulls”.

“[They] belong to a single skeleton that has not been joined to other pieces,” he said, reports The Telegraph.

He further said that his team found that one “was alive, was intact, was biological and was in gestation,” pointing to large lumps inside the alleged alien’s abdomen, which he suggested could be eggs.

Videos were released showing the team carrying out tests in one of the bodies that had an elongated head, two slanted eyes and a small upturned nose.

Houthi envoys left Riyadh on Tuesday after a five-day round of talks with Saudi officials on a potential agreement paving the way to put an end to the eight-year-old conflict in Yemen, sources familiar with the meeting and Houthi media said.

Some progress has been made on the main sticking points, including a timeline for foreign troops exiting Yemen and a mechanism for paying public wages, two sources said, adding the sides would meet for more talks after consultations “soon.”

The Houthi delegation arrived in Saudi Arabia last week. It was the first such official visit to the kingdom since the war broke out in Yemen in 2014 after the Iran-aligned group ousted a Saudi-backed government there.

The talks are focused on a full reopening of Houthi-controlled ports and Sanaa airport, payment of wages for public servants, rebuilding efforts, and a timeline for foreign forces to quit Yemen. An agreement would allow the United Nations to restart a broader political peace process.

The Houthis have been fighting against a Saudi-led military alliance since 2015 in a conflict that has killed hundreds of thousands and left 80% of Yemen’s population dependent on humanitarian aid.

Pink diamonds are extremely rare and highly expensive. For years, researchers have been unable to decipher how these gemstones formed and why are they rosy in colour in comparison to other colourless diamonds.

That mystery has now finally been unravelled.

According to a team of Australia-based researchers, the pink diamonds arrived on the surface around 1.3 billion years ago when one of the Earth’s earliest supercontinents, Nuna, fell apart.

The research published in the journal Nature Communications indicates that ancient continental junctures may be hiding more of these colourful gems.

“While the continent that would become Australia didn’t break up, the area where Argyle is situated was stretched, including along the scar, which created gaps in the Earth’s crust for magma to shoot up through to the surface, bringing with it pink diamonds,” said lead study author Dr Hugo Olierook, a research fellow at Curtin University’s John de Laeter Centre in Perth, Australia, in a news release.

Australia accounts for more than 90 per cent of pink stones formed on Earth. They come from the Argyle mine in Western Australia, which was one of the world’s most productive diamond deposits until it ceased operations in November 2020.

Many of Argyle’s diamonds have a browny hue. But out of every thousand gems, a few would pop up in the rarer and more valuable pink.

Usually, diamonds are found in the middle of ancient continents, within volcanic rocks that have rapidly transported diamonds from deep inside Earth’s interior to the surface.

But the pink diamonds are formed when they are subjected to intense forces from colliding tectonic plates, as they twist and bend their crystal lattices. Most brown diamonds are also formed in this manner.

At Argyle, this process occurred around 1.8 billion years ago when Western Australia and Northern Australia collided, turning the once-colourless diamonds pink hundreds of miles below Earth’s crust.

“Argyle is at the suture of two of these ancient continents, and these edges are often covered by sand and soil, leaving the possibility that similar pink diamond-bearing volcanoes still sit undiscovered, including in Australia,” Olierook said.

Sam Bankman-Fried has pleaded not guilty to charges that he defrauded FTX customers by using their funds to prop up his own risky investments. He is currently jailed ahead of a trial scheduled to begin Oct. 3. Other former FTX executives have pleaded guilty to criminal charges.

Bankman and Fried’s attorneys, Sean Hecker and Michael Tremonte, said in a joint statement that FTX’s claims were “completely false” and that the new lawsuit was a waste of funds that could be returned to FTX customers.

“This is a dangerous attempt to intimidate Joe and Barbara and undermine the jury process just days before their child’s trial begins,” Hecker and Tremonte said.

FTX’s lawsuit alleges that Bankman and Fried accepted a $10-million cash gift and a $16.4-million luxury property in the Bahamas from FTX, even as the company teetered on the brink of collapse. Fried was the strongest influence on FTX’s political contributions, causing Bankman-Fried and other executives to contribute millions of dollars directly to a political action committee that she co-founded, according to FTX.

FTX filed for bankruptcy in November 2022 in the wake of claims that it misused and lost billions of dollars worth of customers’ crypto deposits.

The so-called “anti-terrorist” operation began on Tuesday after some of its troops were killed in what Baku said were attacks from the mountainous region, which Azerbaijan had blockaded for nine months.

Baku had demanded that the separatist political authorities in Karabakh, which is recognised internationally as part of Azerbaijan, also disband before any talks are held about the future of the region, which Azerbaijan wants to fully integrate.

China has installed ground stations for its BeiDou satellite system in the disputed South China Sea island in order to “monitor ships” and “support reliable navigational guidance”, the state media reported.

These ground stations, also called lighthouses, are located on North Reef and Bombay Reef in the Paracel Islands—an area claimed by both Vietnam and Taiwan.

The state-run CCTV report, citing the Maritime Safety Administration, said that the ground stations began operating on Friday to “solve the problem of a blind spot in the country’s shore-based ship AIS in the waters around the Paracels”.

They would “serve as strong support” to monitor ships in the area, for “ecological protection of the islands and reefs of Sansha and to provide safer and more reliable navigational guidance for ships in the South China Sea”, the report said.

Sansha is a municipality that was established in 2012 by China to govern most of the South China Sea.

The Tasmanian tiger, which had gone extinct almost 100 years ago, may again roam on the face of the Earth as scientists have recovered the RNA sample that can help resurrect the carnivorous animal, officially known as a thylacine.

Ribonucleic acid (RNA) is a genetic material present in all living cells and has structural similarities to DNA.

Scientists plan to harness the advances in genetics, ancient DNA retrieval and artificial reproduction to bring back the extinct animal.

They&nbsp;recovered the RNA from the desiccated skin and muscle of a Tasmanian tiger stored since 1891 at a museum in Sweden.&nbsp;

“We would strongly advocate that first and foremost we need to protect our biodiversity from further extinctions, but unfortunately we are not seeing a slowing down in species loss,” said Andrew Pask, a professor at the University of Melbourne and head of its Thylacine Integrated Genetic Restoration Research Lab, who is leading the initiative, reports CNN.

“This technology offers a chance to correct this and could be applied in exceptional circumstances where cornerstone species have been lost,” he added.

The initiative is being undertaken through collaboration with Texas-based Colossal Biosciences, founded by tech entrepreneur Ben Lamm and Harvard Medical School geneticist George Church.

Both have spent nearly $15 million to bring back the woolly mammoth in an altered form.

The Tasmanian tiger, which is about the size of a coyote, disappeared around 2,000 years ago everywhere except the Australian island of Tasmania.

Canada has expelled India’s intelligence chief in Ottawa in connection with the killing of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar.

Making the announcement in parliament, Foreign Minister Melanie Joly&nbsp;said the Trudeau government had taken immediate action, without providing any name of the Indian diplomat.

"The head of Indian intelligence in Canada has been expelled as a consequence. If proven true, this would be a great violation of our sovereignty and of the most basic rule of how countries deal with each other,” Joly said.

“As a consequence, we have expelled a top Indian diplomat.”

She said that the expelled Indian diplomat is the head of the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), India's foreign intelligence agency, in Canada.

Joly further said that Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau also raised the matter with US President Joe Biden.

She also said that the matter will be raised with her peers in the G7 on Monday evening in New York City ahead of the United Nations General Assembly.

Opposition Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre said if the allegations are true, they represent “an outrageous affront to our sovereignty”.

The latest move is expected to escalate the diplomatic stand-off with India, which is already peeved with Trudeau’s government over inaction against anti-India&nbsp;activities by Khalistani elements on its soil.

Public Safety Minister Dominic LeBlanc said that Canada’s national security advisor and the head of Canada’s spy service have travelled to India to meet their counterparts and to confront the Indian intelligence agencies with the allegations.

LeBlanc said that a homicide investigation would be initiated by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

<h2>Who is Hardeep Singh Nijjar?</h2>

Nijjar is the chief of Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF)—a banned terrorist outfit—which is involved in several terror activities in India.

On June 18, he was shot dead outside a gurdwara by two unidentified assailants.

Nijjar had moved to Canada in the late 1990s and was declared a designated terrorist by India in 2020.

According to security agencies, Nijjar was actively involved in recruiting and training people for the banned terrorist outfit, KTF. He was also a part of the separatist outfit Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), which&nbsp;held a Khalistan referendum&nbsp;on September 10.

The Indian government had offered a reward for information leading to Nijjar’s arrest or apprehension last year.

The reward of 1 million rupees was offered by India’s National Investigation Agency, the country’s counterterrorism body.

The speech to union members will be part of an intense campaign by Trump to win back some of the working class voters who defected to Biden in his 2020 victory against Trump.

The United Auto Workers union began a strike last week against the three biggest US auto manufacturers over pay and other benefits, a labor dispute that could pose significant political danger for Biden.

While Biden has touted his support of unions for decades, there is anger among some rank-and-file auto workers that he has not done enough to stand up to the manufacturers and their executives amid huge industry profits.

Trump is seeking to exploit the dispute, and will try to persuade auto workers and other union members that he will be on their side if he becomes president again.

Trump has said recently&nbsp;that Biden is "waging war" on the auto industry&nbsp;through electric vehicle mandates and has said the UAW should endorse him.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s effort to corner India diplomatically over the alleged role of 'agents of government' in the death of Khalistan terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar seems to have failed miserably after its so-called “closest allies” refused to condemn New Delhi over the incident.

Earlier in the day, CBC News, quoting sources from the government, reported that Trudeau briefed the leaders of some of Canada's closest allies, including UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, French President Emmanuel Macron, and US President Joe Biden.

While Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese didn’t express his opinion on the incident, his British counterpart’s spokesperson said that the Rishi Sunak government’s priority is to secure a trade deal with India.&nbsp;

Meanwhile, the US officials said that they have been in close contact with&nbsp;their Canadian counterparts about the issue and said they were "quite concerned" about the allegations.&nbsp;

During a press conference on Tuesday (Sep 19) in Canberra, a reporter asked the Albanese whether he personally raised concerns with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at this month's G20 meeting in India over the death of the Khalistan terrorist.

<h2>'Chill out': Albanese deflects question</h2>

"Your foreign ministry says it's raised concerns with the Indian government about its alleged role in the death of a Sikh activist in Canada, have you raised those concerns personally with Mr Modi at the G20, and do you regret calling him a boss when he visited in Australia?" the reporter asked.&nbsp;

To which Albanese responded, "Seriously, you should chill out a bit. You know, we were at a venue where Bruce Springsteen played the last time I was there.

"And I made the point that the reception he got from the community... the Indian diaspora welcomed him very strongly, it's as simple as that.

Though the prime minister refused to comment on the issue, Foreign Minister Penny Wong said Australia was "deeply concerned" about allegations of a potential link between the Indian government and the killing of the 45-year-old terrorist.

Similarly, the British prime minister’s spokesperson said the killing won’t have a bearing on trade deal with India, reports Reuters news agency.

"Work on the trade negotiations will continue as before. The Canadian authorities will now conduct their work and I'm not going to preempt them," the spokesperson told reporters.

“When we have concerns about countries we are negotiating trade deals with, we will raise them directly with the government concerned. But with regards to the current negotiations with India, these are negotiations about a trade deal, and we're not looking to conflate them with other issues.”

<h2>US is 'quite concerned' about&nbsp;allegations</h2>

A&nbsp;senior State Department official told reporters that they have been in&nbsp;close contact with their Canadian counterparts about allegations&nbsp;against the Indian government and urged New Delhi&nbsp;to cooperate with the investigation.

"We have been in close contact with our Canadian colleagues about this. We're quite concerned about the allegations. We think it's important there is a full and open investigation and we would urge the Indian Government to cooperate with that investigation," said the&nbsp;official at a press&nbsp;briefing, as quoted by Reuters.&nbsp;
