The men evaded the teams by running into the nearby forest area. However, a bag containing brown sugar was recovered from the spot. The incident happened on October 5. 
 
"The recovered items have been handed over to the Moreh police station for further investigation," Assam Rifles said in an official statement.

The minister said that dental caries or cavities and periodontal disease remain the two most prevalent dental diseases of the Indian population and dental infections have a potential for serious diseases or infections. 
 
The initiative of the Union Health Ministry with the AIIMS and other stakeholders aims to sensitize the public about the significance of maintaining optimum oral health and equips them with the tools and knowledge to do so, including awareness on the nearest oral health service facility. 
 
"e-DantSeva contains information about the National Oral Health Program (NOHP), detailed list of all the dental facility and colleges, Information, Education and Communication (IEC) material and a unique feature called the 'Symptom Checker', which provides information on symptoms of dental/oral health problems, ways to prevent these, the treatment modes, and also directs the user to find their nearest available dental facility (public and private sectors both)," an official release said.

Amit Shah to address two-day conference of ATS chiefs this month

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday said that the government's schemes have strengthened the objective of women's empowerment which is one of the key messages of the ongoing Sharadiya Navaratri. 
 
"Navaratri is a festival which sends across the message of women's empowerment. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, women's empowerment is a prime objective. The plans like Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao, Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana and Swachh Bharat Abhiyan have bolstered women and girl children's dignity," Adityanath said while addressing a press conference here. 
 
The Chief Minister said that 10 crore families got toilets in five years and 8 crore families received gas connections. He further said that the sex ratio has become more balanced in the past five years. 
 
Adityanath pointed out that the state government has also envisioned plans and schemes for women's empowerment like the Kanya Sumangala Yojana and increasing the financial aid for community marriage programmes for poor women. 
 
"On the occasion of Navaratri, we take the pledge to empower women. Under the Kanya Sumangala Yojana, an amount of Rs 15,000 will be deposited at the time of a girl child's birth. Under the community marriage scheme, our government has increased the support amount to poor girls for marriage from Rs 35,000 to Rs 50,000," he said. 
 
Adityanath further said that the state government has taken several measures to bolster the education of children which is a key step towards creating balance in the society. 
 
"1 crore 80 lakh students have been enrolled in schools in the state under the 'School Chalo Abhiyan'. With the support of the public, 91,000 schools out of around one and a half lakh have been refurbished in UP," he said. 
 
On being asked about the Ram Jamabhoomi case, he said that he welcomed the daily proceedings in the Supreme Court on the matter and that he will welcome the decision of the court when it comes in the public domain. 
 
"We will welcome the honourable Supreme Court's decision on the Ram Janmabhoomi issue. Everybody should abide by the decision of the honourable court. I welcome the daily proceedings on the issue by the Supreme Court," he said.

Underground necropolis to ease Jerusalem's grave shortage

JSW Energy led by billionaire industrialist Sajjan Jindal on Monday reported entering into exclusive discussions with GMR Energy Limited for a potential acquisition of its subsidiary GMR Kamalanga Energy Ltd.

"Both parties intend to conclude these discussions in an expeditious manner," it said in a brief statement without giving further details.

GMR Kamalanga Energy has a 1,050 megawatt (3 x 350 MW) operational coal-based power plant located at Kamalanga Village in Dhenkanal district of Orissa. The plant is strategically located close to the coal belt and has 15 per cent untied capacity to take advantage of the merchant market.

It has fuel linkages with Mahanadi Coal Fields, a subsidiary of Coal India Ltd, and a long-term power purchase agreement with Grid Corporation of Odisha, Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam as well as Bihar State Electricity Board.

It has fuel linkages with Mahanadi Coal Fields, a subsidiary of Coal India Ltd, and a long-term power purchase agreement with Grid Corporation of Odisha, Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam as well as Bihar State Electricity Board. JSW energy in talks to acquire KML Kamalanga Energy

Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Monday demanded that the <a href="https://www.wionews.com/videos/rbi-credit-policy-central-bank-cuts-rate-by-25-bps-to-515-253663">Reserve Bank of India (RBI)</a> should take over the operations of the Punjab and Maharashtra Co-operative Bank (PMCB) and the money of account holders should be given back to them.

While talking to media persons here, SAD leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa said: "We have three demands: The operations of PMC Bank should be taken over by the RBI.

''The account holders should be informed about their money. There should be no sanctions on the withdrawal of money from the accounts", he said. He also demanded that all assets of the promoters of HDIL - Rakesh and Sarang Wadhawan - should be frozen.

"The money in PMC Bank belonged to the people. Rolls Royce and Bentley cars were purchased by Wadhawan. We request that our demands should be met and money is returned", he said.

Sirsa said that the people have not given money to a chit fund or a finance company but to the PMC Bank, which is governed by the RBI.

He said that 74 per cent of the money of the bank was given to one company HDIL as loans.

"Wadhawan and his son used that money for purchasing jets, and luxury cars. We want our money bank," he said.

Commenting about the PMC Bank, Sirsa said: "It is a cooperative bank but is governed by the RBI. All its formats are decided by the RBI. Therefore, the responsibility lies with the RBI."&nbsp;

All the passengers have been evacuated and traffic has been regulated so as not to create any chaos at the Rohtang top," said Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Manali, Raman Garsanghi while speaking to media here. 
 
He further informed that the personnel manning the Gulaba barrier and those stationed at Marhi have been instructed to be on high alert. 
"This snowfall is the harbinger of the onset of winters in Manali and as such, all the stakeholders in the area are requested to sensitise the tourists about the same," he said. 
 
He also requested the people to cooperate with the administration so as to avoid any untoward incident in the area. "The administration is continuously monitoring the situation and would require the assistance of the people so as to no unsavoury situation arises due to any negligence," he said. 
The traffic movement on Monday was affected on Manali-Leh Highway between Rani Nallah and Rohtang Pass after the area witnessed snowfall in the area. 
 
The higher reaches of Lahaul-Spiti and Kullu districts have also received snowfall. All routine buses on Keylong-Manali route have been stopped. 
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted light rainfall in the next 24 hours.
