In a shocking decision, Pakistan head coach Misbah-ul-Haq and bowling coach Waqar Younis have stepped down from their respective roles one month before the T20 World Cup. After Praveen Kumar's silver in high-jump, the 19-year-old Avani Lekhara has helped India achieve its 12th medal with a bronze medal in&nbsp;50m rifle 3P SH1 shooting final on Friday (September 2). For the unversed, this is Avani's second medal in the showpiece event. She had earlier become the first woman from India to win a Paralympics gold medal. The youngster had won gold in 10m air-rifle standing SH1 final on Monday (August 30).

Speaking about her heroics, on Friday, Avani aggregated a total of&nbsp;149.15 after 15 shots in the Standing position. Thus, she found herself at the fourth spot.&nbsp;In the Prone position, Avani recorded three series of 50.8, 50.3 and 48.4 and aggregated 149.5. Thus, it saw her dropping down to the sixth position as many would've lost hope on her, however, she remained upbeat. Avani later jumped to 4th spot in the standings after the first two series in the Standing position. Battling for the third spot, with Ukraine's Iryna Shchetnik, the 19-year-old shot 10.5. On the other hand, her opposition fell flat and shot a 9.9, confirming a bronze medal for the Indian youngster. For the unversed, Avani isn't done yet in Tokyo Paralympics. She still has one more event to compete in Tokyo, Japan and will be fighting hard to become the first Indian to win as many as three medals in the same Para-event. She has already become the talk of the nation by being the first from her country to win twin medals in the same event. Only three men have won more matches at the U.S. Open -- Jimmy Connors (98), Roger Federer (89) and Andre Agassi (79). Djokovic, playing his first event since the Tokyo Olympics, found the intensity that had been lacking against Rune, speeding through the opening set in 30 minutes. 
 
"I came out on court with the right intensity, the right focus," said Djokovic. "Better definitely than the first-round match. "It was important I came up with the goods. "I`m very pleased with the level of my tennis. All is going in the right direction." 
 
The highlight of the evening for Griekspoor came in the second set when he broke Djokovic but the world number one would break right back and then hold serve to take the set and a 2-0 lead. 
 
Griekspoor had rallied from 2-1 down in his opening match to collect his first ever Grand Slam win but there was no coming back against the top seed. Djokovic then broke Griekspoor twice in the third set before sealing the contest with his 13th ace. 
 
Afterwards Djokovic basked in the applause of the crowd, something he had not done for his opening round victory after the Arthur Ashe Stadium crowd had roared on his Danish opponent throughout the match. 
 
After beating two young opponents playing in their first U.S. Open main draw, Djokovic next faces Japan`s Kei Nishikori, the 2014 U.S. Open runner-up.

The Indian then cleared 2.04m jump in his first attempt. He couldn't clear the 2.07m mark at one go, however, he achieved it on his second attempt and also created the new Asian record in the process. As his Polish opponent fell flat to clear the mark in his third attempt, it assured Praveen of a silver. Britain's Broom cleared the 2.10m mark in his second attempt and got the first spot whereas the 18-year-old Indian athlete settled&nbsp;for silver after failing to clear the mark in his three attempts. Given his inexperience, he has surely made a mark at the international level, leaving his countrymen mesmerised.
