The ministry said the measure was aimed at sending a strong message after the crime rate skyrocketed across the country. "This is really our job to society and to make sure that these crimes are not committed. We thought it best to send a signal that this type of behaviour is not tolerable, it's not acceptable to the country." The gambling industry peaked around 2020 when it raked in approximately $122 million and employed nearly 300,000 Chinese workers. However, the meteoric rise of POGO's also led to an increase in crimes as individuals, mostly Chinese engaged in kidnapping, prostitution and murder, according to the ministry. The regulators informed that only 30 POGO's had licenses to run operations in the country while the rest were either running on expired or revoked licenses. The Chinese embassy in a statement batted for the move and added POGO's were hurting the relationship between the two countries, "Crimes induced by and associated with online gambling not only harm China's interests and China-Philippines relations, but also hurt the interests of the Philippines." Gambling is strictly banned in mainland China and since last year, the Xi Jinping regime has enforced gaming laws as well, restricting the gaming time of kids and teenagers. The final decision was taken after a full-court meeting called by the Chief Justice of India (CJI) Uday Umesh Lalit last week. At the meeting, the judges came to a unanimous decision of live-streaming the constitutional bench cases.

Three constitutional bench hearings are concurrently underway and can be <a href="https://webcast.gov.in/scindia/">watched </a>on webcast.gov.in, run by&nbsp;National Informatics Centre (NIC) using YouTube as a streaming platform.&nbsp;

In one of the cases being live-streamed, the court is discussing the&nbsp;constitutional validity of the 10 per cent&nbsp;reservation for the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS). Other cases include the&nbsp;Maharashtra political crisis and the ongoing tussle for jurisdiction between the Central and Delhi governments.&nbsp;

Other important cases to be live-streamed in the coming days include:&nbsp;adequacy of Bhopal Gas Tragedy compensation, the Bohra community's right to excommunicate and&nbsp;retrospective application of immunity against arrest amongst others.&nbsp;

The CJI, however, said that the court will soon have its own platform so that it will not have to rely on YouTube to live-stream the proceedings.&nbsp;&nbsp;

The decision comes four years after the apex court accepted the idea in principle during the 'Swapnil Tripathi' case.&nbsp;

The first instance of the country's highest court live-streaming its proceedings came in the last week of August when a ceremonial bench bid adieu to outgoing CJI NV Ramana.&nbsp;

While the SC is adopting the live-streaming of court cases now, the High Courts of Gujarat, Orissa, Karnataka, Jharkhand, Patna and Madhya Pradesh have been holding live-streaming of the proceedings through their own YouTube channels, from as early as 2020.&nbsp;

Reportedly, the digital nomad visa will be offered to those who are self-employed or working remotely or employed by non-Spanish companies. The applicants&nbsp;will need to be outside the European Economic Area and should be able to furnish a contract of employment to demonstrate they have been working remotely.&nbsp;

While the aforementioned countries have a minimum earning requirement, the Spanish government has not given any indication of adding such a caveat yet. However, the visa applicants might need to prove that they will earn enough to sustain themselves.&nbsp;

Short video sharing platform TikTok is staring at a $29 million fine in UK for endangering and failing to protect the identities of children on its platform. The China-based company was found wanting after an investigation carried out by UK's Information Commissioner Office (ICO).&nbsp;

The regulator in its provisional view asserted that the Bytedance-led platform may have processed data of children under the age of 13 without parental consent.&nbsp;Reportedly, Information Commissioner John Edwards in his findings said TikTok fell short of meeting data privacy protection requirements.

"We all want children to be able to learn and experience the digital world, but with proper data privacy protections. Companies providing digital services have a legal duty to put those protections in place, but our provisional view is that TikTok fell short of meeting that requirement," said Edwards.

TikTok in response said it will challenge the notice, "This Notice of Intent, covering the period May 2018-July 2020, is provisional and as the ICO itself has stated, no final conclusions can be drawn at this time," said a company spokesperson.

"While we respect the ICO's role in safeguarding privacy in the UK, we disagree with the preliminary views expressed and intend to formally respond to the ICO in due course," the company added.&nbsp;

This is not the first time that TikTok has been asked to cough up fines related to child privacy matters. In&nbsp;early 2019, the company agreed to pay $5.7 million to US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to settle accusations that it had collected personal information of children on its platform by illegal means.&nbsp;

According to reports, Apple is expected to move five per cent of its global production of iPhone 14 to India by the end of the year. The company has kept an ambitious target of manufacturing 25 per cent of all iPhones by 2025 in India, per analysts at JP Morgan. Taiwanese major Foxconn is currently manufacturing all Apple devices at the company's Sriperumbudur plant, outside the southern Indian city of Chennai. As reported by WION, before the official confirmation, Apple had already started working with its local suppliers in India last month to speed up the production pace. By manufacturing iPhone 14 in India, roughly at the same time as in China, the Cupertino-based company is attempting to reduce the gap and bring it on par with China for future models. Apple's growing investment in India stems from the market response it has received in recent times. During the earnings call in July, Apple CEO Tim Cook talked about the doubling of revenue in India. We also saw June quarter revenue records in both developed and emerging markets, with very strong double-digit growth in Brazil, Indonesia and Vietnam and a near doubling of revenue in India," Cook had said. "Incorrect cases of mobilisation...are provoking fierce reactions in society, and rightly so. Some are assuming that handing in their report (to their superiors) quickly is more important than correctly fulfilling this important mission. This is unacceptable," said Matviyenko. "Make sure that partial mobilisation is carried out in full and complete compliance with the criteria. And without a single mistake!," she added. Russia admits making mistakes in troop call-up during mobilisation; vows to fix issues

India's&nbsp;external affairs minister (EAM) Dr S&nbsp;Jaishankar on Saturday addressed the 77th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) and batted for reforms, especially at the high table of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).&nbsp;

"The call for reformed multilateralism – with reforms of the Security Council at its core enjoys considerable support among UN members," said Jaishankar.

The Indian external affairs minister did not mince words and stated that the current setup of the UN was&nbsp;anachronistic and ineffective&nbsp;and hence needed urgent reforms. 
 
"It does so because of the widespread recognition that the current architecture is anachronistic and ineffective. It is also perceived as deeply unfair, denying entire continents and regions a voice in a forum that deliberates their future," Jaishankar said in his address.&nbsp;

The EAM also reminded the assembly of New Delhi's capabilities by stating, "India would be completing its tenure as a member of the Security Council this year. In our term, we have acted as a bridge on some serious but divisive issues confronting the Council."

It is not the first time that India has raised the issue. However, according to Jaishankar, something has shifted this time around.&nbsp;

"In respect of UN reform, every General Assembly (session) you revisit that issue, but this time something has shifted. You can see that, you can sense that. I think everybody sensed a shift and it's something which others actually brought up with me," the minister told reporters.&nbsp;

Earlier this week, Jaishankar hosted a meeting of the G4 countries, a grouping that includes Japan, Germany and Brazil seeking a permanent seat at the Security Council.&nbsp;

After the meeting, Jaishakar took to Twitter and set the agenda which he reiterated at the UNGA address on Saturday.&nbsp;

“Reiterated our joint commitment to work towards text based negotiations that lead to reformed multilateralism. Will continue our cooperation towards the goal,” he tweeted.&nbsp;

Voters get two voting slips;&nbsp;one for the Senate and one for the lower house. They can only put one cross on each slip, with that vote counted for both the first-past-the-post and proportional representation segments.

When the election canvassing trail ended on Thursday, Meloni exuded confidence as she remarked,&nbsp;“We are the real majority of the country."

And there is a reason behind her confidence. One in every four Italian, according to the opinion polls, is planning to vote for Meloni and her party.&nbsp;

It is pertinent to note that the election was called after infighting brought down Prime Minister Mario Draghi's national unity government in July.

Consequently, Brothers of Italy has seen a surge in its support after it remained outside Draghi's government. The League, led by Matteo Salvini, and Silvio Berlusconi's Forza Italia were both part of the government and their support has slipped.

In sharp contrast to anti-migrant Salvini and Berlusconi, who have both openly admired Russian President Vladimir Putin, Meloni backs military aid for Ukraine.

While this is the first election in the last five years, Italy's political landscape has always been chaotic. In the 77&nbsp;years since the end of World War II, the country has seen over 70 governments, roughly amounting to one government every thirteen months.&nbsp;
