An arrest warrant has been issued against former Pakistan prime minister Imran Khan. The warrant was issued on Saturday by an Islamabad court in relation to a&nbsp;controversial remark made by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI)&nbsp;chief against a female judge.

The warrants issued are under sections 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation), 504&nbsp;(intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), 189 (threat of injury to public servant), and 188 (disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) of the Pakistan Penal Code.&nbsp;

The issuance of the arrest warrant was expedited due to Imran's non-appearance in court.&nbsp;The former prime minister is facing contempt charges for his controversial remarks about additional district and sessions judge.

As reported extensively by WION, the charges against Khan are related to what police said was a threat to the Islamabad police chief and a female judge after Khan spoke about police torture of an aide who faces sedition charges for allegedly inciting mutiny in the military.

In an affidavit filed before the court issued the warrant, Imran&nbsp;assured the court that he would never do anything in future that would hurt the dignity of any court and the judiciary, especially the lower judiciary.

According to Pakistani media, Imran stated that he 'might have crossed a red line while making a public speech.'&nbsp;

"The deponent (Khan) never intended to threaten the judge and that there was no intention behind the statement to take any action other than legal action," his response affidavit stated.

While Imran&nbsp;opted for a toned-down approach in his affidavit, he had been taking an aggressive stance in the public, often threatening dire consequences if he was jailed.&nbsp;

Meanwhile, $4.5 billion will keep Kyiv's finances stable and the government functioning. The bill summary added that the legislation would appropriate $35 million "to prepare for and respond to potential nuclear and radiological incidents in Ukraine." "This new grant assistance is a further demonstration of US confidence in Ukraine and will support critical government operations and provide relief to Ukrainian people suffering under Russia's brutal war," said Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen. "Critically, this funding will also help bolster Ukraine's valiant resistance to Putin's illegal war of aggression. We call on fellow donors to not only speed up their existing disbursements to Ukraine, but also to increase their scale of assistance," she added. Almost $54 billion in aid money to Ukraine has been approved un until now by Washington this year. Moreover, ahead of the midterms, the swing states haven't been kind to Biden either. His net approval ratings in Ohio (-23), Arizona (-20), Wisconsin (-18) and Pennsylvania (-19) paint a grim picture and suggest that the battle may be uphill. Reportedly, the President's approval rating for the handling of the economy has dwindled from 71 per cent, earlier this year to 62 per cent amongst the Democrats in the recent survey. Even his handling of the Ukraine crisis has been met with overwhelming negativity as 54 per cent disapprove of him. As for the immigration issue, which was one of the poll planks for the Democrat President, only 39 per cent approve of Biden's work. Notably, the first all-electric aeroplane flight was made in 2019 by&nbsp;Harbour Air of Vancouver, BC which used a retrofitted DHC-2 de Havilland Beaver seaplane.&nbsp;

Reportedly, all the associates, affiliates or fronts associated with PFI have been banned under Section 3 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) ACT (UAPA) for a period of five years. "In exercise of powers conferred by sub-section (1) of section 3 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, 1967 (37 of 1967), the Central Government hereby declared the Popular Front of India (PFI) and its associated or affiliates or fronts including Rehab India Foundation, Campus Front of India, All India Imams Council, National Confederation of Human Rights Organization, National Women's Front, Junior Front, Empower India Foundation and Rehab Foundation, Kerala, as an 'unlawful association'," read a government notification. It added that several instances of PFI having international linkages with "global terrorist groups" had been reported in the last few years. Moreover, some activists of PFI had joined terror outfits such as ISIS and partaken in terror activities in Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan, it said. What does the ban mean? The ban on PFI and its associates is expected to cripple its funding route which, in turn, might hamper the recruitment of members. The bank accounts and properties associated with the organisation might be frozen or seized in the coming days. Anyone associated with the organisation can also be booked under the stringent UAPA which the Narendra Modi government has used liberally against such outfits. As reported by WION, National Investigation Agency (NIA) last Thursday launched what it described as one of the "largest-ever investigation process till date" against the PFI. It was the first of the two instances when NIA launched a nationwide crackdown on the organisation including several raids. However, it is often accused by law enforcement agencies of promoting radical Islam and propagating terrorism. Some experts believe that PFI is an offshoot of Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI), a terror outfit that was banned by the Indian government, way back in 2001. Reportedly, the auction for the selling of bonds will take place from today till October 14 and will be halted when "risks to market functioning are judged to have subsided." "The purchases will be carried out on whatever scale is necessary to effect this outcome. The operation will be fully indemnified by HM Treasury," it further added. As reported by WION, the tax cuts announced in the mini-budget by British finance minister Kwasi Kwarteng have resulted in the pound slipping to its lowest mark of $1.0327 against the dollar, for the first time since 1971. Reportedly, by September 30, about £6 billion in old £50 notes and more than £5 billion in old £20 notes will no longer be recognised by UK businesses. The paper notes will be replaced by polymer £20 and £50 notes which have been in circulation for more than two years (since February 2020).
