Akram recalled a Test match against New Zealand where Raja received preferential treatment because his father was a police commissioner. However, despite receiving the benefit, Raja's performance was not up to par.&nbsp;

The autobiography also sheds light on several other controversial aspects of his career and personal life. Akram has admitted to having a drug addiction and that it was in England that he first snorted a line of cocaine.&nbsp;

"Worst of all, I developed a dependence on cocaine. It started innocuously enough when I was offered a line at a party in England; my use grew steadily more serious, to the point that I felt I needed it to function."

The board had sought independent legal advice over an ongoing investigation by prosecutors in Turin into allegations of false accounting and irregularities in the transfer and loans of players.

Ferrero, a corporate adviser, auditor and board member of a number of companies, would take over at a tricky time for the Turin giants.

Exor, which owns 63.8 per cent of the capital of Juventus, said Ferrero has "significant experience and the required technical competencies".

With a "genuine passion for the bianconero club", he was "the person most qualified to fulfil this role," it said.

The FIFA World Cup in Qatar continues to serve controversies. On Monday, a pitch invader with myriad social messages brought the match between Portugal and Uruguay to a fleeting halt.&nbsp;

The incident transpired during the 51st minute of the game when both sides were locked at nil-nil. The protester sauntered across the turf after breaching the security barrier. While the global feed was cut away from the invader, images showed him wearing a Superman T-shirt with&nbsp;“RESPECT FOR IRANIAN WOMAN"&nbsp;plastered across it on the back.&nbsp;

“SAVE UKRAINE”&nbsp;was written on the front whilst he carried a 'Rainbow' flag to show support for the LGBTQ community. Italian press agency AGI identified the invader as&nbsp;Mario Ferri of Italian nationality.&nbsp;

After running halfway across the pitch,&nbsp;Ferri was tackled into the ground by two security guards and ushered through a tunnel. The referee picked up the rainbow flag and placed it on the sideline.&nbsp;

It was not immediately clear if the protester was detained or charged by the Qatari authorities after his defying act.&nbsp;

This is not Ferri's first rendezvous, according to media reports. He had staged a similar protest during the 2014 World Cup held in Brazil where he raised the issue of children living in poverty.&nbsp;

The Islamic country is extremely strict when it comes to rules and regulations. It&nbsp;deems sex between men as illegal which is punishable by up to three years in prison.&nbsp;

Qatar and FIFA forced the players and teams to not wear the 'One Love' armband&nbsp;during the matches which became a major bone of contention. At one time, seven European teams were prepared to defy the orders and wear the armbands. However, after FIFA threatened suspension, the players backed out.&nbsp;

Switzerland captain Granit Xhaka has revealed that his Arsenal teammates representing Brazil were left worried after he jokingly made a threat to them. At a pre-match conference, Xhaka told the reporters he had a conversation with his Brazilian teammates Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli before leaving for Qatar which left an impression on the South Americans.

"We were joking before the World Cup to come here and of course; it is always good if you have teammates opposite you, but we are professional footballers, and for 90 minutes. I told Gabby Martinelli and Gabby Jesus if you are running one against our goalkeeper, I will smash you!" said Xhaka. The Arsenal player added that Jesus and Martinelli knew that if he hit them, he will hit them hard. "It doesn't matter that we are playing in the same team. This is the World Cup. You play for your own team; you play for your own country, and you want to win. Of course, they were worried. They know me. If I smash you, it will be very, very hard." Both will be coming on the back of victories but Xhaka asserted that his team will have to be at their best to nick the three-points. "We will have to be much more careful against Brazil than we were against Cameroon. If you lose the ball against Brazil, you pay for it. They have great quality...the favourites in the tournament, but it is one game. Anything can happen." Xhaka's resurgence Xhaka has had a revival in fortunes in the last 12 months. After falling out of favour with the manager and the Arsenal fans, the Swiss has managed to turn around the wheel. He is one of the most influential players on the pitch for the Gooners at the moment and is playing an important part in Arteta's resurgence of Arsenal.
