A report by the news agency AFP said that at least 21 people were killed during strikes in central Gaza and taken to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir al-Balah. While&nbsp;in Rafah, there were&nbsp;intense air strikes near the crossing with Egypt.

Other Israel strikes occurred in north Gaza, AFP reported citing witnesses. The strikes came after the Israeli military on Tuesday (May 7)&nbsp;seized and closed the Palestinian side of the Rafah crossing -- through which all fuel passes into Gaza -- after ordering residents of eastern Rafah to evacuate.

The rescue team had already established contact with the person before pulling him out of the rubble, said the local official. He also thanked the rescue teams and volunteers.&nbsp;

“Thank you to the rescue teams and volunteers who have been working so hard these last 4-5 days to rescue those trapped. We never gave up hope and today I cannot express the extent of my relief and joy. Thank you to all the teams – you are true heroes. I am proud of you,” Winde added.&nbsp;

Out of the 81 workers who were present on the site when the building collapsed, 13 were confirmed dead, 29 were alive and 39 were still unaccounted for, reported Reuters citing local officials.&nbsp;

Rescuers were seen using cranes, drills and even their bare hands as they tried to reach those trapped under the rubble after the collapse on Monday.&nbsp;

According to authorities, many survivors sustained burns and head injuries while some suffered internal injuries.&nbsp;

He added, “We know that time is against us”. The police were using fingerprints, DNA testing and photographs, said the head of rescue operations.&nbsp;

The incident took place in the country’s coastal city of George, on Monday afternoon around 2:09 pm (local time) when an under-construction five-storey building came crashing down for reasons which are not known as of yet.&nbsp;

The Russian defence ministry, on Saturday, said that its troops “liberated” five villages – Borisivka, Ogirtseve, Pletenivka, Pylna and Strilecha – in the Kharkiv region near the border with Russia “as a result of offensive actions”.&nbsp;

Moscow also claimed that the village of Keramik in the Donetsk region was also now under Russian control.&nbsp;

<h2>Nearly 1,800 Ukrainians evacuated</h2>

Earlier on Saturday, Kharkiv governor Oleg Synegubov took to social media and said nearly 1,800 people had been evacuated from the eastern Ukrainian region.&nbsp;

“A total of 1,775 people have been evacuated,” Synegubov wrote on social media. He also reported Russian artillery and mortar attacks on 30 settlements over the past 24 hours.

A report by news agency AFP said groups of evacuees could be seen in vans and cars with several bags at an evacuation arrival point outside the city of Kharkiv.

Evacuees – many of them elderly – registered and received food and medical assistance in makeshift tents, as per the news agency.&nbsp;

Russia launched an armoured incursion early on Friday, an attack on a new front which may lead to a broader push into the Kharkiv region.&nbsp;

This comes as Ukrainian forces find themselves outgunned and outmanned, while Russian forces have slowly advanced mainly in the Donetsk region to the south.&nbsp;

Hamas's armed wing, the Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades, on Saturday (May 11) released a video showing a man held hostage in Gaza. The man can be&nbsp;seen alive in the 11-second footage. The video is superimposed with text in Arabic and Hebrew that reads: "Time is running out. Your government is lying."

The man in the video is believed to be&nbsp;Nadav Poplewell, a UK national, who was kidnapped from Kibbutz Nirim. Hamas said "he died&nbsp;of wounds that he sustained in an Israeli air strike more than a month ago."

The 51-year-old hostage was kidnapped along with his mother&nbsp;Channa Peri, who was released in a hostage-sharing agreement in November last year.

The video was posted on Hamas' telegram channel. It's the third time in less than a month that the group has released&nbsp;footage of hostages.

Earlier, on April 27, the militant group released a video showing two hostages alive: Keith Siegel and Omri Miran.

Three days earlier it posted another video showing hostage Hersh Goldberg-Polin alive.

It comes as pressure grows over the Israeli government of PM Benjamin Netanyahu to secure the release of hostages still held in Gaza.

"Every sign of life received from the hostages held by Hamas is another cry of distress to the Israeli government and its leaders," the families' group said in its statement on Saturday.

"We don't have a moment to spare! You must strive to implement a deal that will bring them all back today," it added.

Some 250 people were abducted to the Gaza Strip on October 7 when Hamas militants attacked southern Israel.

Israeli officials say 128 of them are still held captive in the Palestinian territory, including 36 who are dead.

Reacting to the video released Saturday,&nbsp;The Hostages and Missing Families Forum in Israel&nbsp;released a statement urging the Netanyahu government to strike a peace deal as soon as possible.
