United States former president Donald Trump is likely making plans to appoint billionaire Elon Musk as an advisor in the White House after coming back to power, reports suggested.&nbsp;

According to a report published in the The Wall Street Journal, Trump has not finalised the details, however, the two have been discussing how Musk can provide &nbsp;“formal input” on issues like the economy, border, and preventing voter fraud.

The world’s third-richest man, along with billionaire investor&nbsp;Nelson Peltz, spoke to Trump regarding an effort made by Musk to convince business leaders not to support President Joe Biden in November elections.

“President Trump will be the only voice of what role an individual plays in his presidency,” said senior Trump adviser Brian Hughes, while speaking to The New York Post.

“But it has been widely reported and is demonstrated in a number of ways, that many of the nation’s most important leaders in technology and innovation are concerned with the damage done to their industry by Biden’s failures to handle our economy and his moves to overburden innovators with government bureaucracy and unrelenting regulation," he added.

Social media platform X owner and founder of Tesla and Space X Musk had earlier said that he would not give money to either candidate and has always taken an anti-Biden stance.

However, the South African-born billionaire has always portrayed himself as an independent. In 2002, Musk became a US citizen.

After clinching victory on Super Tuesday and becoming a presumptive Republican nominee, Trump met Musk at Mar-a-Lago, reported the Wall Street Journal.

"This is all done by Biden and his people," Trump said, while describing the hush money&nbsp;trial as "very unfair".

"As far as&nbsp;the trial itself, it was very&nbsp;unfair. We weren't allowed to use our election&nbsp;expert under any circumstances.&nbsp;You saw what happened to some&nbsp;of the witnesses that were on&nbsp;our side, they were literally&nbsp;crucified by this man," he said.

The U.S. and British militaries said they launched strikes against Houthi targets in Yemen on Thursday to deter the militant group from further disrupting shipping in the Red Sea.

The U.S. Central Command said U.S. and British forces had hit 13 targets in Houthi-controlled areas of Yemen.

The British defence ministry said the joint operation targeted three locations in the Red Sea port city of Hodeidah, which it said housed drones and surface-to-air weapons.

"As ever, the utmost care was taken in planning the strikes to minimise any risk to civilians or non-military infrastructure," the British defence ministry said.

"Conducting the strikes in the hours of darkness should also have mitigated yet further any such risks." 
Houthi spokesperson Mohamed Abdelsalam said the strikes were a "brutal aggression" against Yemen as punishment for its support of Gaza.

Iran condemned the strikes as "violations of Yemen's sovereignty and territorial integrity..., international laws and human rights", Iranian state media reported.

"The aggressor U.S. and British governments are responsible for the consequences of these crimes against the Yemeni people," Iranian foreign ministry spokesperson Nasser Kanaani said.

While addressing a press conference, Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey informed officer Jamal Mitchell was killed in the shooting.&nbsp;Mitchell was shot while he was assisting an injured man,&nbsp;Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension Superintendent Drew Evans said.

"Three people, including the suspected shooter, are dead after a mass shooting Thursday at a Minneapolis apartment complex,"&nbsp;police said.

According to a news release from the city of Minneapolis, the incident began around 5:30 pm when officers responded to a report of shots fired at an apartment complex in the 2200 block of Blaisdell Avenue South, located in the Whittier neighbourhood. Upon arrival, officers were immediately met with gunfire, the Minneapolis Police Department said.

Two civilians were killed and two officers were taken to the&nbsp;hospital.&nbsp;

However, the Minneapolis Police and Peace Officers Association, the union which represents Minneapolis officers, said in a statement that one of those wounded officers had died.

"Once again, a police officer bravely faced danger and tragically lost his life protecting the community," the union's executive director Brian Peters said in a statement.&nbsp;

The exact circumstances of the shooting were unclear.
