On X, they wrote, “In the past 24 hours, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) forces successfully destroyed three anti-ship cruise missile (ASCM) launchers in a Houthi controlled area of Yemen and one uncrewed aerial system (UAS) launched from a Houthi controlled area of Yemen over the Red Sea.”

“Additionally, one Iranian-backed Houthi unmanned surface vessel (USV) struck M/V Tutor, a Liberian flagged, Greek owned and operated vessel, in the Red Sea. M/V Tutor most recently docked in Russia. The impact of the USV caused severe flooding and damage to the engine room," the post further said.

However, there were no injuries or damage reported by either US, coalition&nbsp;or commercial ships.

This continued malign and reckless behaviour by the Iranian-backed Houthis threatens regional stability and endangers the lives of mariners across the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden.

According to the Cuban officials, such visits from friendly countries were usual practice and they said the Kazan carried no nuclear weapons and there was no threat to the region.

Havana is 100 miles from Key West, Florida, and the timing of the visit suggests more than standard practice, said William Leogrande, a professor at American University.

“The Russian warships visiting the region are Putin’s way of reminding Joe Biden that Moscow can challenge Washington in its own sphere of influence,” Leogrande told the AP.

Notably, the Kazan and Gorshkov are among Russia’s most modern warships, built in 2017 and 2018 respectively.

The US military had deployed ships and planes to monitor Russia’s military exercises in the Atlantic and the Caribbean, and has been following the Russian vessels as they transited the Atlantic in recent days en route to Cuba, according to US officials.

US Navy ships that have been tracking the Russian vessels include the USS Truxtun, the USS Donald Cook, and Coast Guard vessel the USCGC Stone, the US official confirmed to CNN.

A P-8 Poseidon reconnaissance plane was also deployed along with other air assets&nbsp;to circle overhead the Russian vessels.

According to authorities, the tragic event unfolded around 7:30 pm on June 5 when three teens were heading into the store to return a malfunctioning airsoft gun.

Myers, who had just finished a shift as a "licensed” and “armed” security guard, was waiting in his vehicle to pick up his son from a nearby martial arts class.

According to reports, Myers told police he observed one of the teens carrying what he thought was a Glock handgun. He also believed that he saw another teen place a firearm into his waistband.

Fearing an armed robbery was about to occur, Myers chose not to call 911 and instead exited his car with his gun drawn, approaching the teens.

As per court filings, Myers felt he "had a duty to act to stop the individuals from hurting someone innocent, and to protect his son."&nbsp;

As Myers confronted the teens, one moved aside while the other two stopped. One placed the airsoft gun on the sidewalk and also shared repeatedly with Myers it was a “BB gun” and not a real firearm.

Even after multiple attempts to clarify that it was a toy gun, Myers pushed one of the boys to the ground and held him by the back of his jacket.&nbsp;

King County Senior Deputy Prosecuting Attorney Lauren Burke noted, “The defendant failed to take the obvious step of securing the toy gun, rather than assaulting the teen who had carried it.”
