United States Secretary of State Antony Blinken has said to the militant group Hamas that it is "time for the haggling to stop" after "numerous changes" were proposed by its leaders to a plan for a Gaza ceasefire as well as hostage release deal.&nbsp;

In Doha, he informed the reporters that a few of the changes were "workable" and others were not workable, but that the United States and mediators Qatar and Egypt will "try to close this deal".

On Tuesday (June 11), Hamas said that it was willing to "deal positively" with the process, however, it emphasised the need for Israel to agree to full withdrawal from Gaza and a permanent ceasefire.&nbsp;According to The Times Of Israel, the main issue on which the deal is getting stuck is that the Palestinian terror group has been demanding an Israeli guarantee up front which will agree to a permanent ceasefire.

The proposal has not been publicly endorsed by Israel's prime minister which US President Joe Biden had claimed was offered by the country while outlining it 12 days ago.&nbsp;

However, Blinken said Benjamin Netanyahu had "reaffirmed his commitment" in a meeting in Jerusalem on Monday (June 10). A resolution was passed by the UNSC in support of the proposal and he added that Washington DC has been exerting diplomatic pressure.

At a press conference, Blinken said that they were discussing the changes which were requested by Hamas to the US-backed ceasefire proposal.

"A deal was on the table that was virtually identical to a proposal that&nbsp;Hamas put forward on 6 May&nbsp;- a deal that the entire world is behind, that Israel has accepted, and Hamas could have answered with a single word: 'yes'," Blinken said.

"Instead, Hamas waited nearly two weeks and then proposed more changes, a number of which go beyond positions that it had previously taken and accepted. As a result, the war that Hamas started… will go on, more people will suffer, Palestinians will suffer, more Israelis will suffer," he added.

Hamas issued a statement, in which the terror group called for "a complete halt of the ongoing aggression against Gaza" and the Israeli forces' full withdrawal.

Hamas political bureau's member Izzat al-Rishq said their response was "responsible, serious and positive" and had opened up "a wide pathway" for reaching an agreement.

<h2>Shift in conflict</h2>

Hamas, later in a statement, said that they have shown "full positivity" in its efforts to reach an agreement and have appealed to Blinken to put "direct pressure" on Israel.

Even after facing setbacks, Blinken said the United States, along with Egypt and Qatar, will "try to close this deal".

"In the coming weeks, we will put forward proposals for key elements of a 'day after plan', including concrete ideas for how to manage governance, security, reconstruction," Blinken said.

<h2>Bangkok to Beijing by Train</h2>

Thailand is set to link with the existing Laos-China rail network, a part of China’s Belt and Road Initiative.&nbsp;

The connection, upon commencement, will make it possible to travel by train from Bangkok to China’s capital via stops in Laos’ Vientiane and the southern Chinese city of Kunming, where there is a separate semi-high-speed service to Beijing.&nbsp;

In light of the area’s mountainous terrain which adds to the distance, the roughly 2,000-mile (3,218-kilometer) journey will take almost a full day, as against the ballpark figure of five hours for a non-stop flight.&nbsp;

As per a Nikkei report, the already operating high-speed train between China and Laos offers a route for Thai goods to be transported via rail to Kunming.

This rail route has helped reduce the delivery time to just 15 hours from the two days it takes for trucks to carry freight to China along the mountainous route.

Beyond trade, the two nations are forging closer tourism ties and have even scrapped tourist visa rules. Visitors from China can stay for up to 60 days in Thailand, while tourists from Thailand can stay in China for 30 days.

Plans are underway for a high-speed rail system to connect Thailand to China through Laos by 2028, a development expected to further bolster the tourism sector.&nbsp;

Notably, mifepristone is used in more than 60 per cent of total US abortions and it was approved by the FDA in 2000.

<h2>Plaintiffs' demands</h2>

The plaintiffs had sought the rolling back of FDA regulatory actions in 2016 and 2021. The action had made it easier to prescribe and distribute the drug across the country.

The move also allowed for medication abortions at up to 10 weeks of pregnancy instead of seven, and for mail delivery of the drug without a woman first seeing a clinician in-person.

They first filed a case in Texas in 2022 where US District Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk upheld their demands and issued an order which could force the pill off the market altogether.

"President Trump's opponents and adversaries are using the Gag Order as a political sword to attack President Trump with reference to this case, on the understanding that his ability to mount a detailed response is severely restricted," said the lawyers.

Reuters reports that the prosecutors, in a brief letter last week, have requested that the gag order remain in effect at least until Trump's sentencing, emphasising the need to "protect the integrity of these proceedings."&nbsp;

<h2>Trump found guilty</h2>

On May 30, a jury in Manhattan found the White House hopeful guilty of falsifying business records on all 34 counts. This cover up included falsifying records of a $130,000 payment to porn star Stormy Daniels, sought to ensure her silence about an alleged sexual encounter before the 2016 election.

Trump is due for sentencing on July 11. He continues to deny the encounter with Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, and has pledged to appeal the verdict after the sentencing.

In the lawsuit, it was alleged that Musk “runs his company in the dark ages — treating women as sexual objects to be evaluated on their bra size, bombarding the workplace with lewd sexual banter, and offering the reprise to those who challenge the ‘Animal House’ environment that if they don’t like it they can seek employment elsewhere.”&nbsp;

According to the former employees, Musk's social media posts worked as an encouragement for the inappropriate work environment in the spacecraft company.&nbsp;

In the lawsuit, SpaceX's former engineers said that the posts were not just private rantings from the billionaire CEO. &nbsp;

Attorney Anne Shaver, who is representing the plaintiffs, said, "There was no separation on [Elon] Musk’s statements and the company’s statements. When employees raised concerns, they were told: ‘We can’t do anything. SpaceX is Elon, and Elon is SpaceX.’”

“Musk knowingly and purposefully created an unwelcome hostile work environment based upon his conduct of interjecting into the workplace vile sexual photographs, memes, and commentary that demeaned women and/or the LGBTQ+ community,” claimed the eight former employees in their lawsuit.&nbsp;

<h2>How did SpaceX react to the lawsuit?</h2>

SpaceX has not yet reacted to the lawsuit filed by its former employees. However, SpaceX’s president and chief operating officer, Gwynne Shotwell, did react&nbsp;to the previous Wall Street Journal report highlighting sexual abuse allegations made by some former employees. &nbsp;

Shotwell, informed The Wall Street Journal, that their report painted “a completely misleading narrative” of the company and that “Elon is one of the best humans I know.”&nbsp;

She said that all complaints of harassment are fully investigated by SpaceX and appropriate actions are taken.
