<p>Russia launched three missiles overnight on Ukraine, out of which air defence systems over Kyiv destroyed two, said Ukrainian Air Force Commander Mykola Oleshchuk, on Sunday, in a post on Telegram. However, he did not say what happened to the third missile.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The Ukrainian capital, its surrounding region and several others across the war-torn country were under air raid alerts for about an hour on Sunday morning, starting at 4:50 am (local time), reported Reuters.&nbsp;</p>

<h2><strong>Ukraine launches drone attack</strong></h2>

<p>Ukraine launched dozens of drones overnight targeting several Russian regions, said local officials on Sunday.&nbsp;</p>

<p>At least 30 drones were destroyed over the Russian region of Bryansk, which borders Ukraine, said the regional governor.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Several drones were also destroyed over the Smolensk region, Vasily Anokhin, governor of the region in Russia’s west said.&nbsp;</p>

<p>As per preliminary information, there were no casualties or destruction in either region, the governors said.</p>

<h2><strong>Apartment building in Kharkiv attacked</strong></h2>

<p>Ukrainian officials said four Russian guided bombs hit an apartment building in Kharkiv. Images from the site show parts of the five-storey building in ruins with windows smashed, balconies wrecked and rubble scattered around a crater created on the ground due to the attack.&nbsp;</p>

<p>The attack prompted Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to call for more military aid for Kyiv to help deal with the growing threat of such weapons.</p>

<p>“This Russian terror through guided bombs must be stopped and can be stopped,” Zelensky wrote in a post on Telegram after the attack.&nbsp;</p>

<p>He added, “We need strong decisions from our partners to enable us to stop the Russian terrorists and Russian military aviation right where they are.”&nbsp;</p>

<p>Responding police officers&nbsp;went out nearly 91 metres from shore and were joined by other rescuers on a fire boat.&nbsp;The first officer to arrive at the site&nbsp;was able to take the children and other officers helped get them to shore.</p>

<p>The police further said that lifesaving&nbsp;measures were provided to the children and they were taken to a hospital, where they remained in intensive care on Saturday.</p>

<p>The man was taken into custody and it was not clear if he had a lawyer.&nbsp;“It is without a doubt the swift response by our patrol officers saved the lives of these children,” the police said.</p>

<p>The government unit pointed out that the pilgrims who died&nbsp;had to walk through the desert into Mecca to avoid arrest or deportation.</p>

<p>Authorities, meanwhile said that the companies also did not&nbsp;provide the pilgrims with "appropriate accommodation." This caused&nbsp;pilgrims' "exhaustion due to the high temperatures."</p>

<p>Azmi’s family told Reuters that there was an arrest raid during which he was injured and when they asked for an ambulance, the army took Mujahed, strapped him on the hood and drove off.</p>

<p>According to Israeli media reports, the IDF personnel were in the midst of an operation in the Wadi Burqin area near the city of Jenin to detain wanted Palestinians.</p>

<p>The IDF said that their soldiers violated military protocol and would launch an investigation into their actions.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“The suspect was taken by the forces while tied on top of a vehicle,” said the Israeli military in a statement.&nbsp;</p>

<p>“The conduct seen in the video is inconsistent with IDF orders and what is expected of its soldiers,” said the IDF.&nbsp;It added that the “incident is being investigated and will be dealt with accordingly.”</p>

<p>Since the beginning of the war between Israel and the Palestinian militant group Hamas in Gaza, there has also been a surge of violence in the West Bank where Israeli forces conduct near-daily, often deadly, raids.&nbsp;</p>
