Saudi officials told the news agency AFP that&nbsp;1.8 million pilgrims took part this year, a similar number to last year and that 1.6 million came from abroad.</p>

<p>Saudi Arabia's Health Minister&nbsp;Fahd Al-Jalajel on Sunday&nbsp;described the management of the Hajj as "successful".&nbsp;Health Minister Al-Jalajel said that the health system&nbsp;"provided more than 465,000 specialised treatment services, including 141,000 services to those who didn't obtain official authorisation to perform&nbsp;Hajj."</p>

In all, 346 people died in the Boeing 737 Max, &nbsp;Boeing's best-selling aircraft, crashes that occurred on planes operated by Ethiopian Airlines and Lion Air in Indonesia in late 2018 and early 2019.</p>

<p>Videos that went viral on social media showed masked gunmen opening fire at these places of worship. The attack comes three months after 145 people were killed in an attack claimed by the Islamic State on a concert hall near Moscow, Russia's worst terrorist attack in years.</p>

<p>The attacks were almost simultaneous in Dagestan's largest city Makhachkala and in the coastal city of Derbent. Governor Sergei Melikov called it a "terrorist attack".</p>

<p>The incident occurred on Sunday (June 23) evening, with reports indicating that the attackers also targeted an Orthodox church which resulted in the killing of a priest.&nbsp;"Unidentified people fired at a synagogue and a church with automatic weapons," as per Interior Ministry.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Dagestan Public Monitoring Commission Chairman Shamil Khadulaev said, “According to the information I received, Father Nikolay was killed in the Church in Derbent, they slit his throat. He was 66-years-old and very ill."&nbsp;</p>

<p>A police post was also attacked in the area.&nbsp;</p>

<p>One of the police officers was killed during gunfire at a police post in Makhachkala, a predominantly Muslim region in southern Russia.&nbsp;</p>

<p>According to Russian media, the shooting began around 6 pm local time when unknown gunmen opened fire on the synagogue with automatic weapons.</p>
