<p>“A life-threatening storm surge will raise water levels by as much as 6 to 9 feet above normal tide levels in areas of onshore flow near where the eye makes landfall in the hurricane warning area,” the National Hurricane Center said, adding that the surge could bring large and destructive waves near the coast.</p>

<h2><strong>Hurricane Beryl: Records set&nbsp;</strong></h2>

<p>Hurricane Beryl was&nbsp;the first ever Category 4 storm recorded in June. Typically, the first hurricane of the season arrives around August 11. It is also the earliest Category 4 hurricane to be recorded in the Atlantic Ocean.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Beryl is also the Atlantic Ocean’s third-earliest major hurricane - defined as Category 3 or higher, in 58 years. Hurricane Alma is the earliest which became a major hurricane on June 8, 1996. Hurricane Audrey on June 27, 1957, is second.</p>

<p>Media reports revealed that 21-year-old Jhon Moises Chacaguasay-Ilbis has been accused of killing Joselyn Jhoana Toaquiza, 21, on her birthday. Both of them had crossed the US border illegally in 2023.</p>

<p>As per reports, the duo arranged a meeting at the Airbnb on June 18. Chacaguasay-Ilbis reportedly suffocated Toaquiza to death and then buried her inside a&nbsp;park in upstate New York.</p>

<h2><strong>Relation between the murderer and the dead</strong></h2>

<p>Both the accused and the victim reportedly hailed from Ecuador and had been schoolmates. Chacaguasay-Ilbis came to the US in January 2023 after crossing the El Paso border in Texas illegally. He was later released in the US because the authorities apparently lacked the space to hold him.</p>

<p>Similarly, Toaquiza entered the US In June of that year. She was initially detained by Border Patrol but was released into the country after she claimed her life was in danger back in Ecuador from an ex-romantic partner. It was not clear whether she was referring to Chacaguasay-Ilbis.</p>

<p>Following the murder, Chacaguasay-Ilbis surrendered before the police. He is now charged with second-degree murder and concealment of a human corpse. During his appearance in Syracuse City Court, he claimed he couldn't recall anything and he was heavily drunk at the time of the incident.</p>
